Prejudice is a bad thing. It’s a struggle for you to deal with the subject of your prejudice. You just can’t ignore it, even if doing so would put you in danger.
Ugly +2 Trait Points
You’re just... not that attractive. People aren’t as welcoming or kind to you because of it. You get a skill point hindrance in the skill group Charisma: each skill costs 1 more point than it normally would.
Weak Body +2 Trait Points
For one reason or another, be it sickness, small stature, or general laziness, you are not very strong. You take a permanent -1 to strength, and all skills in the Combat skill group cost 1 more point than they would normally.
Mental Illness +3 Trait Points
You have some form of mental illness that goes beyond simple compulsion or phobia. Your condition actively interferes with your ability to live a normal life. You can still function with it, but some things take much more effort and energy for you than they would for someone without it.
Mute +3 Trait Points
You cannot communicate verbally. Anything that involves talking, including most verbal communication, is pretty difficult for you.
Phobia +3 Trait Points
Absolute mindless terror of a particular thing. You will do anything in your power to avoid this thing, no matter the circumstances. You could go so far as to jump out a 12 story window to get away from that itsy bitsy spider.
Deaf +4 Trait Points
Either you cannot hear at all, or you hear so little that you’re considered legally deaf. Anything that involves hearing, including most verbal communication, is pretty difficult for you.
Blind +5 Trait Points
Either you cannot see at all, or you see so little that you’re considered legally blind. You will have to figure out a different way to interact with the world than most others. Your attacks have 1/2 accuracy at all times.
Physically Disabled +5 Trait Points
You have a permanent physical disability that limits your functioning, mobility, etc. You may have one or more missing or amputated limbs; a spine injury or defect; or damage to your brain or nerves. It's difficult for you to walk and get around, and it's also difficult in general for you to get things done.
Weak Immune System +5 Trait Points
You always seem to be getting sick and it takes you forever to feel better again. Better stay away from poisons, too. You have the ability ‘acid weakness’, and it takes twice as long to recover from illness/poison.
Weak Willpower +5 Trait Points
You are suspiciously open to suggestions. A psychic being can easily bend you to their will. You have the ability ‘Psychic Weakness’.
Inept +6 Trait Points
You’re less skilled than your peers, and you can only choose one skill group at character creation instead of two. You could always get other skill groups with traits, of course, but you get one less from the start. Cannot be taken with Jack of all Trades.
The Thing +6 Trait Points
There are things in this world that pretend to be a normal person… but they’re not. They will often fool a person but will never fool a dog. Animals are afraid of you because they alone know what you are. You cannot choose Husbandry as a skill group, and all Husbandry skills cost you +8 skill points, as opposed to +2.
They Know +6 Trait Points
You’re not exactly normal, and everyone knows it. You give off a weird vibe that makes people uncomfortable around you. Whether you’re unbelievably awkward, very infamous, or just weirdly cursed, people don’t usually react well to your presence. Shopkeepers charge 10% more for you, and if you’re able to barter at all, you’re just bartering for a fairer price. You cannot choose Charisma as a skill group, and all Charisma skills cost you +6 the normal skill points, as opposed to +2.
Cursed +7 Trait Points
Luck is not on your side. In fact, it seems like you’re always in the wrong place at the wrong time. If something bad could happen to you, it probably will. You might find yourself less fortunate in some places around the site.
