Contests

Welcome to the Contest Hall! The Contest Hall hosts competitions where everyone gets to show off what their creatures can do. At the end, the contest is judged and a winner is declared.
Entering a Contest
Before entering a contest, you first need to know what the contest is about! An announcement will be made when a new contest is ready, and the announcement will also explain what kind of contest is being run. The type of contest serves as a guideline for what you should do during your performance. During a 'cute' contest, only things that are 'cute' will give you points, for example.
1. Choose a creature that fits the contest type.
2. Look over the creature's stats, what it knows, and what it can learn.
3. Using your creature's stats and training, come up with a performance.
4. Train your creature anything it will be showing during the performance.
5. Prepare your application, including the creature's full stats, all of its training, and any items you will use.
6. Post in the registration thread. This is the last step - once you've registered, you can't change anything!

The Show Ring
Now that you're registered, it's time to sit back and wait for the show to start. When the show ring opens, an announcement will be made and a thread will become available in the Contest Hall to post in.
1. As soon as the show ring opens, you're free to start!
2. You may post as often as you like until the deadline.
-- You do not have to wait for someone to finish their performance in order to start yours. (We assume in character that you took your turn, of course!)
3. Be sure to think about and describe how your performance fits the theme in your posts. You will only gain points for things the judges think is relevant.
-- The same trick could be relevant or not depending on how it's described in character. For example, what's cuter: an Izer flying straight up, or an Izer flying in the shape of a heart?
4. The more creative you are, the better you'll score!

Rules for the Show Ring
- In order to count toward the show, every trick, move, ability, and skill must be trained and registered.
- Make a note of every trick, move, ability, skill, and item used at the bottom of each post, separate from the rest of the text so the judges can reference it.
- Untrainable and passive abilities may be shown/displayed even though they cannot be trained and registered. (Be sure to include it in your notes!)
- You must describe how you are using your items in order for them to count. Items used during contests are not consumed.
- Only actions taken by the creature or items used on or by the creature count toward your score. Items, skills, spells, etc. used by the character do not.
- Creatures who have won a contest cannot enter that same type of contest again. Though they can enter others if they want.
Scoring Points
Looking to get a great score? Here's some tips to get the most out of your performance in a contest.
- Points are awarded for the following activities: making posts, using items, showing off abilities, and using moves and tricks.
- Things your creature does only add to your score if it's deemed relevant by the judges. Try to think of ways to use your items and stats in new and exciting ways to make them relevant to the contest type!
- Doing a variety of different things will add bonus points to your score. A wide variety of moves and tricks are sure to wow the judges! Similarly, using similar items at the same time is not going to add much to your score.
- Make sure that when you use an item, it's relevant to the type of show you're entering. Sure, a big fancy costume is great for a beauty contest, but it's probably not going to help you during an agility run!
- Some contests, such as the strength show and agility run give bonus points according to a creature's stats. These bonuses are awarded for creatures with high stats relative to their other stats, so even creatures with lower power levels can gain bonus points if their highest stat is right for the contest!
Judging and Contest Points
Finally, after all that work, it's time to find out who won! The judges will carefully count out the scores, then post them in the announcements. The first, second, and third place winners will all receive an award and some bonus points.
Everyone who participates in a contest will receive at least one contest point, based on their score. Contest points can then be spent on a range of prizes! There are also some unique champion only prizes, reserved for those who have one at least one contest. Good luck!
