"Come ON already! How are you this slow? Your legs are like, ten times longer than mine!" Desiree called as she fluttered about in front of Fiera. The humanish took a deep breath as the pixie harangued her. She was hoping this trip to the gardens would help her burn off some of this excess energy, but frankly she wasn't sure if she would make it that far. "Aren't you grown up by now? Shouldn't you be calmer than this?" Fiera said. She wouldn't admit that she missed Desiree's cute, childish actions from when she was younger, or at least she wouldn't admit it out loud. Desiree was her first harachiu, and one that she had raised since toddlerhood- though she had to admit, today in particular the act was running a bit thin. "Pfft, I'm only just barely a grownup!" Desiree said, fluttering another foot. "Besides, we've gotta get to your garden fast! I want to get some flowers before they're all gone!" Fiera pinched the bridge of her nose. "Gone WHERE? It's a private garden, and the middle of summer!" Desiree shrugged as they walked and flew down the trail toward Fiera's personal garden. "I dunno, maybe they died. You're pretty bad at gardening." She replied with a shrug. "...Thanks." Fiera said dryly. Fiera 1 Desiree 21.1/21.1

There were few things Silver liked more than visiting the garden with members of their Harachiu family. Being in the garden was already one of their favorite things. Getting to do it with one of their 'little ones'? Priceless. More than that, though, they really wanted to spend some one on one time with Hilukai. They had known her since she was but a wee flower, and she had seemed a bit down lately. They were going to find out why, and do their damnedest to fix it... all in good time, of course. Silver had become so focused on pruning a particularly fiesty plant that they didn't even notice when a Mussimander sneaked up on Hilukai and pulled her glove off when she attempted to pet it. It ran off with it's new 'treat' and Hilukai's tiny voice rang out. "Hey! No! Bad!" That was enough to get their attention. Silver bolted upright only to see Hilukai zip off after something they couldn't see. Immediately, a sense of protective panic set in. They dropped their shears and bolted off after her, leaving their bag and all of their gardening tools in the dirt. "Are you okay?" Silver called out so that she could hear them. "Agh! Silly... give that back!" she shouted, as if she hadn't heard them at all. She continued to flit in and out of the leaves and branches, making it particularly difficult for Silver to follow her. Eventually, they caught up with Hilukai, but only because she was hovering in place, looking defeated. "Li... ah, what's wrong? Are you going to be alright?" Silver asked with concern, gently touching her with their soil stained fingertips. "Wha? Oh, yes, it'll be.. fine. I guess. It took my glove. One of those mushroom ... things." Hilukai frowned down at her now bare hand. She liked that glove! "Now I've lost track of it..." "Ah," Silver said, clearly pausing as if digesting that information. The Mussimander would probably come back, they reasoned, but likely not with the glove. "I'll buy you a new..." Hilukai pressed her palm into Silver's lips, silencing them. "Ma, shh, do you hear that?" she whispered. Silver paused to listen, then flicked their ears. They hadn't heard anything of note, but while they were listening, they came to a realisation. They weren't in their garden plot any more. How long had they been chasing her through the gardens? Well, they were somewhere else, now. Somewhere... faintly familiar actually. Now if only they could remember why. [125.1, 16.3]

They had only made it a few steps down their garden path before a mussimander burst out in front of Desiree and Fiera- and the humanish managed to nearly step on it. It squeaked in fear immediately and ran off into the bushes as Fiera let out a hiss of disgust. "Oh! Rancid thing!" She screeched, kicking at the bush where it had disappeared. "Running around in MY garden and eating all my plants! I know I don't own any of those things, the ugly stray."
"Gee, tell us how you really feel." Desiree said, rolling her eyes as she examined where the mussimander had run off.
"Oh hush, you! You were just complaining about how there'd be nothing left when we got here. What do you suppose that little beast has been eating this whole time, hm?"
"...Gloves, actually."
"...What?" Fiera replied after a brief pause, crouching down. Desiree held up the glove, a delicate little purple affair. "It looks like it's my size. Weird." Desiree said, turning it over in her hand.

There was shouting. Silver was even more tense than before. The very last thing they wanted was for Hilukai to get into trouble, and shouting usually meant trouble. Of course that meant that she instantly darted off in the direction of the sound. She and Silver had very different thoughts about what constituted as a good idea, apparently.
Voices meant people, and people meant someone to talk to. Perhaps they had seen the little monster that made off with her glove. The glove was no doubt replaceable, but she was more determined than ever to find it. If she saw that dreadful mushroom-thing again, why she would... she would... well she had no idea what she would do, actually. That didn't matter, though.
Silver dutifully ran after Hilukai, keeping the glimmer of her blue flickering wings within their sight. Even if they didn't like her plan, they would never, ever leave her alone. It was too dangerous out there in the... where were they again? It looked familiar, but Silver knew it wasn't their garden plot any more.
As Hilukai approached what she was relatively sure was a person, she dropped her speed slowly until she was hovering in place again, just far enough away from Fiera to shout at her. Just as she was about to ask for the whereabouts of the mushi-monster, she saw Silver stop behind her out of the corner of her eye. They said nothing, but instead just raised their dirt-covered paw and gave a sheepish wave. This was someone they knew.
They had met a few times, of course. A stumble onto her property here, a trip to the breeding center there. If there was one thing Silver knew about Fiera, it was that she didn't take too kindly to strange monsters running into her personal space. They had figured that out the hard way already. Hopefully, for their sake, she would take a little more kindly to a cute little fairy than a giant stumbling Mussimander. Hopefully.

Desiree turned the glove over in her hand again. It was... so small. She slipped it on- it fit perfectly. Ok, not perfectly. It was actually a little big on her, but still harachiu sized. But how could it be here? All of the harachiu she knew were back home, and even then the only person she knew that this would fit would be Icarus, and this definitely wasn't his style. It was bright purple and delicate and really, REALLY soft. Could there be...? She glanced up, and sure enough, through a gap in the bushes, she saw a face that was similar to hers in a lot of ways, but definitely not someone she knew. Something stirred in her chest, but in many ways she didn't know how to react. A startled "....Oh!" Was all she could muster, taking a brief step back.
And a more aggressive "...Oh." Came from Fiera as she spotted another familiar face. In her garden. Again. "Silver. What are you doing here." She said through clenched teeth.
