Well. Fiera was down to one last full set of breeding berries, having spent her second to last female berry on getting her fossil pets. That meant that until she could figure out when to fit in another trip to buy more, this would be her last pachee breeding. As a result, she knew shehad to make it count, and pored over all of her pachee for the best possible options. She... admittedly had a bit of decision paralysis for a while there, causing her to put off performing this breeding for a long while. Hopefully the berries would still be good. It would be a huge waste if her last breeding berries were spent not on a breeding but on deciding what breeding to do. Thankfully, she was pretty sure she had picked out some winners. They were currently skittering around the inside of their carriers, tasting the air outside and trying to stick their paws through the bars. It was a bright and warm day of summer, the most active season for pachee, and hopefully that would help get them into the mood for the breeding session that was to come. At the very least, it was keeping them awake.

Her ideal pairing then, was Toil and Trouble and Sparkledog. Toil and Trouble, or "Toil" for short (though he very much was a whole lot of trouble) was one of her customs that she had ordered what felt like years ago by now, but hadn't yet gotten around to breeding. She refused to let that be the case for too long though, and decided to make the goal of this breeding to be to find him a female. He was an attractive pachee too, in an... unusual way. He looked quite different from most pachee. His fur was thick and black with the occasional pink speckle, and where a mouth... wasn't, he had a pink, jack-o-lantern esque smile, though it was purely cosmetic. Like most pachee, he ate through the roots on his feet, so the "mouth" was just for decoration. His eyes were a pupil-free purple, but his most striking feature was the transparent panel on his belly. Inside, glowing liquids bubbled and churned constantly, giving him his name. It was a completely unique feature among pachee, and it was the one that Fiera was most hoping would pass down to his offspring. Whether or not it actually would though... she would have to wait and see.

Her other pachee was of course, Sparkledog. No shortening was needed for that name- the full word gave you everything she needed to understand her. The female was a bright purple with a huge, fluffy mane in an eye searing green, with black markings and wings sprouting from her back. Needless to say, she was a little painful to look at at times, but in a way that Fiera found intensely attractive. The humanish was a bit like a female bird- she was drawn to bright colors. Her coloration wasn't the only thing that was special about sparkledog, however. Her very inception was bizarre. She was actually born in a very rare little of four pachee all at once, and even bore an especially unique male with two sets of wings, Fiera's own Science Fiction Double Feature. There was even two females in the litter, though Sparkledog had been split from her sister at a young age. Overall, her very existence was born from the slimmest of odds, leaving her a very unique pachee indeed- most certainly deserving of her moniker. This would be her first breeding though, so Fiera could only wait and see if she passed down the luck.

Of course, looks weren't the only things she was expecting to be passed down from these two. As it stood, they were both... some of Fiera's most ACTIVE pachee as well, personality traits that could easily be passed down to offspring. And that was being polite. Toil was... a bit of a little devil sometimes, and she could swear she heard a devilish cackle coming from her pachee kennels at night when he was most active. The other pachee definitely didn't get along with him, as he always played a bit too rough and loved stealing food, which earned him a bit of a bad reputation. There wasn't much Fiera could do about it, though- it was just how he was. Sparkledog on the other hand was just as exciteable, but in a good mood sort of way. She was incredibly gregarious toward other pachee, and tried playing with them long after they had tired out. The females put up with this as well as they could, but it was clear to Fiera from their behavior that it got tiring after a while. So while these twos' offspring were likely to be pretty... Fiera was pretty sure they'd be little terrors.

Despite the predicted personalities of their offspring though, Fiera was excited to see what sort of babies Sparkledog and Toil would produce. She was sure they would be just as beautiful and brightly colored as their parents, if a little rambunctious. First though, they had to finish the breeding. As if on cue though, Fiera rounded the corner of the sidewalk she was strolling down and saw the breeding center up ahead. Its colors were bright and chunky as usual, but she couldn't help but notice that some of the advertising posters in the front window had become faded and blue due to the scorching rays of the summer sun. You could tell what the biggest deals going on were based on which posters had the freshest colors. Almost as soon as she noticed it though, an employee of the breeding center came up and began taking the posters down. Fiera shrugged and moved towards the door- it was a good thing that they were maintaining the building. She pushed open the double doors and was met by a beautiful gust of cool air from the interior of the building, soothing the sweat that had been building up on her forehead.

"Freaking FINALLY." The humanish huffed to herself as she stood in the doorway, oblivious to the people trying to get around her. The change in temperature was a relief. She quickly walked to a nearby chair and set her carriers under it, lodging them between the legs so her pachee couldn't get away. Once she was sure they wouldn't be knocking themselves over however, she finally went up to the front desk. "Yes, yes, hello there." Fiera said, cutting off the receptionist who proceeded to give her a bit of a dirty glance. "I'm a little late, so I'd just like to get things going. Had a bit of trouble getting out of the house." She said, recalling how much trouble her pachee gave her. It took her way longer than it should have to get them rounded up, but that was what you got when you selected two of your most rambunctious animals for the day's breeding. "Anyway." Fiera continued. "I'm here for a pachee breeding under 'Fiera Ferella'. Should be for Toil and Trouble and Sparkledog." She said, leaning over the desk to try and see it written on the calendar. The receptionist nonchalantly pulled it out of the way.

"Uh, yeah. Let me see here." He said, bringing his finger down it. "Yep, here it is. Fiera Ferella, T&T and Sparkle." "It's Toil an-" "Anyway, you're a little late. Should have been here five minutes ago." Fiera bristled at that- these people should be grateful she even showed up! What was she paying them for, honestly! "Well, what room am I in, then?" She said, a little bit too harshly, her teeth gritted. The receptionist gave her another pointed look. "Well, you're LUCKY that there's not many other people here today, or else it would have been gone already. But because you asked so NICELY... room eight, on the right." He said, slapping the calendar down and handing Fiera a receipt. "Have a good day." He said, cutting Fiera off before she could protest again. The humanish managed to bite her tongue, but still managed to hiss quietly as she stomped back toward her pachee. They rustled against the bars of their carriers, eager to see her, but even they calmed down a bit when they sensed the waves of anger radiating off of her. Instead, they sat quite politely on the little blankets that had been placed in there with them.

With her pachee behaving (for once), Fiera was able to easily get through the double doors toward the rest of the breeding center. They swung easily in front of her, letting her into the short hallway beyond. She could see the shapes of other pet owners through the frosted windows on each door, no doubt going about their business with their own pets, whether that was pachee, orbaru, or houluh. Thankfully for her however, her own room was empty and unlocked. She pushed it open, and it was about the same as usual, set up for pachee inhabitants. Fresh, nutritious dirt. Lush (but fake) plants for privacy. Plenty of rocks to climb and play on. Perfect for her purposes. She set the pachee carriers on the corner of the concrete step leading into the room, letting them stew for a minute. Then she fiddled through her purse, looking for something in particular- her baggie of breeding berries. She turned it over in her hand, examining it carefully. It looked like they were all still intact and healthy, if just a bit duller than usual. "Hopefully they're still good..." She muttered to herself as she set them on a rock. All ready to go.

Next she had to get the female... ready. Ish. Sparkledog was pretty much as ready as she'd ever be, hyper as she was. Fiera had to really grab her as she opened the cage. With the amount of energy this female had, she was off like a shot the moment the humanish so much as touched the latch. It took every bit of reaction time Fiera had to grab her before she escaped into the room, and all of her strength to hold on. She wrestled with the playful pachee until she was finally standing over the breeding berries. "Just! Eat them!" She exclaimed, plopping the creature down on the rock that she had placed the berries on before letting go. To her surprise, Sparkledog actually stood still for a second, as if paralyzed by the options before her... before she immediately went into a feeding frenzy on the berries, smashing them up faster than Fiera could actually see, turning into a whirlwind of purple and green. "I'll just... assume you're eating some of that." She said with a cringe, slowly backing away toward the other carrier. So long as she got some of the berries in her, Fiera would be satisfied.

While Sparkledog was doing her best hurricane impression on the nearby rock, Fiera turned to get Toil out of his carrier as well. He gave Fiera a few well placed smacks on the hand before she was able to get a good grip on him, but once she relocated him to the breeding room floor, he was off like a shot. Off like a shot toward Sparkledog, specifically. They tumbled together end over end, sending a cloud of pollen into the air. "...Huh." Fiera said. "Well that's one way to do it." She shrugged and sat back as they wrestled. It was certainly a good way to get their energy out. Toil was a little more aggressive than Sparkledog, but the female pachee hardly noticed it. She was just happy to finally get to play after being shoved in a box for so long. And Fiera was just happy that this breeding was getting done quickly. Once they had finally worn themselves out, she would finally be able to go home, and hopefully with some pretty babies to show for it. Just watching these two was enough to exhaust her though- so she sincerely hoped they would wrap it up soon.
