Sevyrn truly did her best to avoid having to venture in to the crowded streets of the cities, but there were moments where such a thing just had to happen - today was one of those days, it seemed. All she had really needed was to stop by one of the shops and pick up some food for the next little while, yet just like always she would have to walk past the ‘quest board’. She was a curious thing, and she’d come across some ventures of both the fun and not so fun varieties before - checking out what might be posted today always seemed like a good idea when she happened to be in the area anyways. “Whatchu think?” Sevyrn asked, turning her head to look towards a pixie-like thing perched on her shoulder - Elisa, a harachiu she had come to take home a while back. The young one was not a baby any more, and as such she was starting to show the harachiu what life outside of the house was like. 1/10

Elisa did not yet know how to speak, but that did not stop the young one from trying - she was more a toddler than a baby now and starting to babble, emulating the ways of the people around her. It wouldn’t be long, Sevyrn imagined, before hey would get in to first words and then first sentences. She’d already watched the harachiu learn to crawl and walk and even try to fly, though she was still getting her bearings at using those little wings of hers. It was kind of cute, if Sevyrn was being honest, watching her companion learn how to use her body to its fullest capabilities.
The lack of ability to speak yet meant Sevyrn did not get a proper response from the young one - instead Elise let out a little whine, attempting to vocalize in a manner that Sevyrn was yet to understand. Based on the curiosity in her eyes, Sev imagined that Elisa was quite entranced by the world around them.

One of the advertisements stood out to Sevyrn and caught her eye - a well-penned letter on high quality parchment that Sev’s muted green gaze began to scour. A pet with some separation anxiety, huh? It couldn’t hurt to come give a critter that had a hard time being alone some love and attention while its owner needed to head out and about.
That feeling of hope didn’t last long, though. Just below the letter was an attached picture of a sweet, fancy looking woman - and an incredibly aggressive and angry looking PHIL. This… was the anxious little bean who struggled with being alone? That became hard for Sevyrn to imagine, and Elisa seemed to be able to tell that Sev was quizzical. Her hand had raised in a gesture of confusion, and the little sprite hopped on to her open palm. With her hands held behind her back, Elisa leaned in towards Sevyrn with wide open eyes.

“You ever heard of a grumpy beast that doesn’t want to be alone, Ellie?” Sevyrn asked the Pixie, whose curious gaze didn’t change. The harachiu shook her head - she was starting to learn the common tongue enough to grasp other people speaking basic sentences, but the words weren’t quite there for herself. She didn’t quite understand everything, but she did know that when she was grumpy, she wanted to be alone! And sometimes it was hard not to be grumpy back at home - Sev’s Malii kitten Ramses loved to bother her. At least now she could fly up to her little hammock, a nest hanging from the ceiling in Sev’s bedroom. No one bothered her there, not even the kitty.
“Whatcha think? You want to check it out?” Did Elisa want to go see some grumpy badger looking thing? Not really, no. She leaned back away from Sev and shook her head.

“You’ll be safe, I promise.” Despite that promise, Ellie clambered up the sleeve of Sevyrn’s shirt and dipped behind her neck, hiding in the hood of Sev’s sweater in just the right spot that the woman’s choppy brown locks obscured the Pixie entirely. Sevyrn wasn’t quite sure what to do now, really - she was interested in seeing what was happening with this PHIL. Clearly if the creature was as mean as it looked, this woman would have requested nothing less than an expert PHIL handler to come and care for it. How bad could it really be, anyways?
At the same time, Sev really wanted to respect her companion’s evident fear. Where did one draw the line as to where facing fears stopped being beneficial? Raising a harachiu made Sevyrn feel more like a mother than she ever had before, and she made a habit of caring for young ones.

She let out a sigh as she walked away from the board but nonetheless she made the point to remember the address listed on the letter in case she did decide to head down to check the situation out. Firstly, though, she wandered to a small cafe - a sweet little family business she’d come across back in the day with Ryden that she’d continued to frequent until now and probably forever. After sitting down, the harachiu in her hood clambered back out, and hopped down on to the table. Juvenile harachiu were tiny, about the size of her palm, and this one was entering the curious phase of her life - she attempted to climb the handle of her coffee cup to look inside.
Sevyrn laughed, and tapped the table to tell her to stop climbing on things. After that she took a spoon and dipped it carefully in to the cup to collect a few drops, and offered the liquid out for Elisa to try. What harm could it do?

It was a good thing that Sevyrn took her coffee sweet - she imagined that Elisa wouldn’t like it so much if she took bitter black. The harachiu squealed as she got a small taste, barely a drop’s worth of liquid and yet more than enough for something her size. After a few moments of smacking her lips and then went in for more. “Alright, alright - you’re a kid. Caffeine isn’t good for a growing body, Elisa,” Sevyrn said as she pulled the spoon away from the harachiu with a laugh.
“Any chance you’re feeling a bit better about checking out that letter?” Sevyrn asked, and Elisa’s little whine gave away her answer. However, despite the nervousness, the pixie eventually gave a slow cautious nod. She then fluttered her way up to Sevyrn’s shoulder, and tucked herself close to the woman’s neck.
It seemed that they would be facing some fears today.

So off the pair went - Elisa hugging close to Sevyrn’s body and Sev herself slightly anxious about what awaited then. Really, though - this PHIL couldn’t be that bad! No one would willingly put a stranger in danger, Fifi probably just had a major resting bitch face. At the same time, Sevyrn had never so much as been around a PHIL yet had any idea how to properly handle them… maybe this was a mistake in the making.
Upon reaching the address that was on the letter, Sevyrn swallowed the ball of anxiety building in her throat. “You ready for this?” She asked Elisa without looking to see how the harachiu responded. After that she knocked on the door. The young woman from the letter opened the door just moments later.
“Oh! You have have seen my letter, are you here to help watch Fifi?” She asked, and nervously Sevyrn nodded.

“Yeah, that would be correct,” Sevyrn confirmed, and the woman’s eyes moved towards her neck. Elisa had gotten nervous and hidden as soon as the door opened, but now she was poking her little head out from between Sev’s neck and hair.
“Oh, isn’t she just the sweetest little thing!” The woman said, and Elisa felt spooked and backed away. “Anywhoosles - Fifi is out in the back yard right now, and I really need to go pick up some more food for her today. Do you want to come meet her?” Simple as that, Sevyrn was brought towards the back yard where a rather large PHIL was lounging under the sun, as expected. What came as a surprise was the way the creature acted like an oversized dog as soon as she saw her person.
Yeah… it was a case of bad resting bitch face. This wouldn’t be so bad.

The woman wasn’t gone long, and Fifi was… well, she seemed to be pretty sleepy. She growled at Sevyrn as soon as the woman walked back in to the house but she didn’t dare venture up on to the porch where Sevyrn stood, and instead went back to where she had been resting under the sun. The only rough moment was when Sevyrn had tried to go down in to the yard and Fifi became territorial, snarling at the woman from its spot… Sevyrn saw that as a warning to step back up on to the deck and she did just that. A little later on she offered the PHIL a meal - a slap of meat from the fridge inside that she’d thrown over the railing of the porch in to the yard to avoid needing to get up and personal with the beast.
Sooner rather than later, the owner was home. She came back as Fifi was munching on her meal, and Sev was showing Elisa various things on the porch that had got the spriteling’s eye.
“Well I’m out then,” Sevyrn said after the women had exchanged pleasantries, ready to get out of here and head back on her errands of the day.
