After their last successful raid job, it didn't take long before Skram was back at the job board for another one. They looked over all of the different postings for a while, frowning at the listings for a while, before jumping up and grabbing a piece of paper that looked like it was absolutely COVERED in bugs. Which. Hm. That had potential. They'd gotten to eat a lot of high quality pet food the last time they were on a mission, but they were never one to turn their nose up at more protein. The runner that was with them could probably use more of a bump in protein, too, it was so small and scrawny. Not that Skram really CARED, of course... they just figured that it wouldn't hurt. That's all. So, as they tended to do, they tossed the paper over their shoulder and charged off in the direction they thought they needed to go in. 1

The runner quickly snapped the paper from the air, shaking their head quickly to shred the paper up before scrambling to catch up with Skram. Somehow Skram seemed to find the right direction this time, ended up at the farm before long at all. They quickly rolled up to the farm, finding the farmer as quickly as possible, and telling him that they were here to take care of their bug problem. They didn't tell them HOW they were going to take care of it or anything like that, but the farmer didn't seem to care, they were just happy that someone was here to help. With a toothy grin, they ran off to go hunt some bugs for dinner. The runner didn't seem to know what was going on, but they stuck closely behind Skram, watching curiously as they started to search all over for. Something. Stuff. They didn't know what.

It quickly became apparent what Skram was looking for, however, when they pulled a GIANT grub out of the dirt and bit its head straight off. The runner watched, staring with huge eyes, as Skram happily crunched up the grub and slurped out the juices from the bug's body, only to finish up by crunching up the rest of the exoskeleton in apparent satisfaction. The runner cautiously sniffed at some of the juices that dripped down from their hands. It didn't know what to make of this at all. It didn't smell like meat, but it was moving and Skram was acting like it tasted good. The lizard went back to digging up bugs, looking all over for more, and quickly came up with a handful of huge grubs in both hands. The runner stared, not really knowing what it should do, when Skram tried stuffing the grubs into their mouth.

They had so many grubs that some of them slipped out of their fingers, dropping to the ground and wiggling furiously, trying to escape. The runner quickly snapped one up itself, crunching into it since it didn't know what else it could possibly do. It wasn't sure if it could really say that it liked it or didn't like it. It needed to try another one to decide, it figured, so it snapped up another grub quickly and swallowed it down. Skram had already gone back to digging in the dirt, leaving all of the dropped grubs right there on the ground for the runner to snap up instead of bothering to gather them again themself. Skram quickly came back with even more handfuls, stuffing them into their mouth and conveniently dropping more grubs in front of the runner, right there and easy for the runner to snap up some more of them.

The runner still wasn't sure if it liked the taste or not of the grubs, but it kept snapping up more of them since Skram kept dropping them right there in front of it as if it was actually feeding it! It ate grub after grab, shaking them in its jaws to 'kill' them before swallowing them down. It felt like it was actually growing to like the taste after a while. Skram certainly didn't seem to tire of it! They kept stuffing more and more into their mouth until it was starting to get very hard to even find more! Skram eventually had to huff and sit down, patting their stomach. "Damn, that was a good meal." They admitted. "He sure did have a bug problem. Here's hoping we took care of it." Skram said with a toothy grin, tossing a few more grubs towards the runner. The runner sniffed at them and ate them slowly, also pretty full.
