Silver scooped some freshly caught fish into a bowl and rushed down to see the Trader. They weren't after anything in particular, of course, but they wanted to see what they could trade the fish for before anything terrible happened to them. Nevermind the fact that they had no idea what happened to them once they were handed over.
It wasn't unusual for Silver to dart off after a sudden whim like this, so Quin caught on very quickly and hitched a ride on the top of their head. While it would probably make more sense for him to sit on their shoulder, he liked the view better from the exact spot where their hair parted. Not that they minded; he wasn't very heavy, after all.
Silver wandered around the trader's wares looking for something they wanted to make an offer on. They eventually came across something that made their hair stand on end. A crystal. This one made their skin feel cold. It was as dark as the deepest shadow, as if it swallowed light. Did they really want such a thing? Perhaps it would be good thing to study. It was always best to understand things, rather than to fear them, right?
They found the trader and made their offer, doing so almost automatically, like they weren't really thinking about it at all.

The trader looked over the items carefully, judging their quality. It seemed good enough... just barely. He supposed a crystal could be parted with for that price. He nodded silently before sweeping the items off the table, leaving a pulsing crystal in their place.
