Tinker's Trinkets

This shop is bolted together out of scraps of metal, mostly tin and copper. The sign above the door has a glowing light to indicate when the shop is open. The sign is decorated with brass and copper gears, as is the door frame. The door itself is made of some kind of metal alloy which is surprisingly light.

The inside of the shop is immaculate. Everything is very clean and very well lit. All of the items are neatly placed on decorative metal shelves in a very orderly manner. The robots are stored in tidy rows next to the shelves, all of them powered down and silent. The bright artificial light gleams off of their polished metal bodies. Any robot larger than a housecat bears a sign that says:

Do Not Touch
Please ask for assistance.

General shopkeeping, such as tidying, selling, and talking to customers, is done by a Catalyst Trainer Replacement Droid. The TRod is extremely polite and helpful, almost too much so at times. The TRod is also very serious, and does not allow customers to goof off, make a mess, or be disrespectful.

The shop is owned by Kapper, who usually stays in the back of the shop working on various projects. He doesn't like to be disturbed, and is clearly annoyed whenever anyone tears him away from his work. He does seem to light up when talking about his work, though, and it can be tough to get him stop once he's started going on about it.

Pets: Living creatures are not allowed in Tinker's Trinkets. Robots are only allowed if they are well trained or in need of repair.

Soul Thumb - 75 Credits

This peculiar drive is said to contain the impossible: a living soul. Though, exactly what kind is unspecified... Insert the drive into your Living Liquid Steel to use. Once the drive is equipped, the Living Liquid Steel can feel emotions, show affection, and gain loyalty. Other than being cute, it also gives the Living Liquid Steel +1 Mentality. Though it could theoretically be removed, it is not recommended. Doing so would corrupt the creature beyond repair.

Life Radar - 60 Credits

These handy little devices let out a "beep beep" when there is a living creature within 20 meters. The screen display shows a dot for nearby creatures and an arrow pointing in the direction of creatures further away. There are three buttons which allow you to include (or exclude) small, medium, or large creatures, so that it doesn't go off for the wrong thing. The switch on the front is a toggle between searching for movement or body heat. It's not the most accurate device out there, but it can be a lifesaver in the right circumstances!

Robot Creatures

Trainer Replacement Droid (TRod) - 200 Credits

Each Trainer Replacement Droid comes with a (mostly harmless) neural implant which allows you to remotely control its every move. With just a thought, you can completely and effortlessly control your TRod. As part of the setup, the TRod will analyse your voice so it even sounds just like you when it talks. Your pets won't even be able to tell the difference. Now you can do your chores and go adventuring at the same time! Unfortunately, these TRods are not sophisticated enough to do much on their own, and they will simply sit idle or return to their pre-programmed 'home point' when they're not being controlled.

With a TRod, your character can be in two places at once! For any place where you are only allowed one thread at a time (such as shops or event areas), your TRod can also have a thread of its own. However, it does not gain benefits from your skills. They know everything that you know, since you're controlling them, but they're not quite advanced enough to benefit from your skills. When a TRod works with creatures, they gain loyalty to the TRod, not your character.

Upgraded Trainer Replacement Droid (TRod 2.0) - 450 Credits

Like the previous model, the TRod 2.0 comes with a neural link that allows you to control it remotely. It has all of the same functionality of the original TRod as well as some additional high tech features. Unlike the original models, these TRods are capable of acting independently when not being actively controlled. It comes pre-programmed with a basic personality, and it even make an attempt to mimic your quirks and mannerisms. The longer you've had the TRod 2.0, the more it acts like you. However, it is just an act, as the TRod 2.0 does not have the capacity to feel actual emotions. TRod 2.0s are able to be trained, and it is able to learn and use skills (as a sentient creature) for when it is operating independently.

The TRod 2.0 model is bigger, faster, stronger, and even lighter than the originals. It is also able to open up so that it can be worn as a specialised suit of armor. You will need the skill "Operate: TRod" and the "Don Armor: Plate" expertise in order to pilot a TRod 2.0. See "Battlesuit Expertise" for access to the TRod 2.0's moves and abilities while wearing it.

Note: You may upgrade your original TRod for 200 credits instead of purchasing a new one. The Nova and Refined colors are not available as upgrades.

Clockwork Avian - 50 Credits

These small avians are (just) smart enough to be trained. Even though their name would suggest that they are entirely clockwork, they also contain programming for a functioning mechanical mind. They can even 'see' through the camera lens on their head. Sadly, they cannot gain loyalty, as they are not capable of feeling love for their owners (or any other emotion, for that matter).

White Clockwork Avian - 200 Credits

This rare variant of the Clockwork Avian is fully capable of experiencing emotions. That means that they can gain loyalty! They're also a bit smarter than their mechanical minded peers, about as clever as an average bird of prey. A small robot that is capable of loving you is sure to come in handy for something.

Giant Clockwork Avian - 500

This extremely rare variant of the Clockwork Avian is huge! It's big enough to ride as a mount. Otherwise, it's just like a regular one, only (much) more expensive.

Scuttle - 75 Credits

The Scuttle was designed for home maintenance. It scurries across the floor (and any surface it can climb up on) and picks up trash in its pincers while the brushes on its underside sweep away dust and dirt. The trash then gets dumped into its central cavity where it is zapped into ash with a blast of electricity from its copper crown.

Thankfully, the Scuttle can be trained to learn what is and isn't considered trash, so it doesn't incinerate anything important. Unfortunately, they do not gain any loyalty to their owners. It can also be trained some tricks, or even how to battle! That powerful ker-zaap could come in handy, even if it's not that big.

Scuttler - 175 Credits

This massive version of the Scuttle, known as the Scuttler, was not designed to clean up little messes, but rather for the literal 'scuttling' of ships. These tough robots can operate in even the harshest climates. Sea ship? Air ship? Space ship? No problem! The Scuttler will tear them all to pieces with its huge pincers.

Like their tiny housekeeping counterparts, Scuttlers can be trained a variety of things. You wouldn't want them destroying your ship, now would you? Its large size, tough exterior, and electrically charged crown makes them a decent choice for battle. It is also large enough to sit on and ride around... if you're brave.

Blade-Dragon v3.8 (Acid) - 600 credits

Blade-Dragons were designed purely for battle! True to their name, they are covered in blades, including pointed tails, huge spikes down their backs, sharp teeth, and vicious claws. This is the acid spitting variety.

Though they're certainly large enough to serve as a mount, their bladed backs combined with their bad attitude makes them unable to be ridden. Blade-Dragons are able to be trained, but they cannot gain loyalty.

Nitor - 35 credits

These odd little creatures are sometimes called 'Geckos' due to their ability to stick to walls. Nitor were designed to be a little bundle of love so people would become a little more used to having a robot in their homes. Their job is simple - they walk around the house looking for people who need attention, and give it to them. They tend to act like a traditional pet, like a cat or a dog. The gems on their body give off a soft light, making them easy to spot and incapable of sneaking up on someone. They're quite affectionate, so be prepared to give them attention. Unlike many other robots, Nitor can gain loyalty.

Living Liquid Steel - 25 credits

This little cat-sized pile of silvery goo is actually composed of many, many microscopic robots. Interestingly, they all work together like a living creature. The Living Liquid Steel is very malleable and able to take many forms. Each transformation disk is encoded with the information required to take a new form. Even in those forms, the creature is still fairly mutable and seems to constantly restructure itself.

This creature can be trained, but it will not gain loyalty under normal circumstances. See the item 'Soul Thumb' for more information. Each form has different abilities, so check their stats carefully for what they can learn and make use of while transformed.

Notes: Transformation Items must be purchased separately.

Mag-70 - 40 credits

Description: Mag-70 is the ultimate magnet. It can easily control the magnetic field around it to lift, pull, push, and manipulate anything magnetic. They are designed to dig through the earth - and thus they are used to find (and retrieve) metals in mines. They should not, however, be ever kept around robots or electronics. For that reason, the Mag-70 will remain deactivated until you get it home. To activate your Mag-70, simply pull out the tab. Luckily, the Mag-70 is also trainable, and fitted with a "personality program". A much simpler program than the Nitor has, it can at least pretend to love you. The personality program allows the Mag-70 to gain loyalty.

Rare Mag-70 - 80 credits

These two Mag-70 variants are just like the common ones, only rarer! Unfortunately, because of the difficulty of finding such precious materials, these varieties are much more expensive.

Personal Assistant Droid (PAD) - 200 credits

This robot is created specifically to help you around the house with various tasks, like a mechanical servant. While not as far-reaching as the TRoD (and lacking the neural uplink), this less expensive robot comes with plenty of protocols and programs to choose from. The Personal Assistant Droid cannot train your pets, but who doesn’t want a robot butler around the house? The PAD is not trainable, nor can it battle.

Combat Assistant Droid (CAD) - 200 credits

This robot is created specifically to help you train against humanoid opponents. Equipped with built-i, state-of-the-art Liquid Lance™ technology and an abundance of security protocols, the CAD cannot truly harm anything, but will dutifully keep score on attacks (and probable damage) landed. They can be tasked to simulate any number of attack patterns, difficulties, and weapons. They are not trainable and cannot be used for true battle, but are great for training YOU. They don’t know how to serve about the house, however. You’d need a PAD for that.

Bionics and Services

Bionic Dash-Claw - 150 credits

These bionic creatures are fully trainable. As they are partly biological, they will need to eat and sleep, though considerably less than an unmodified creature the same size. Even though they can be used in battle, we suggest you use them as mounts. They're quite intelligent and have a lot of history behind their lives. After all, they did live a full life before we grafted electro-- Oh, never mind.

Seeker REPAIR - 90 credits

Need your Primal Seeker repaired? No problem. You just need to bring in your damaged seeker and we'll restore it to it's original quality.

Notes: You must actually have a damaged Primal Seeker to have it repaired.

The Nullifier - 250 credits

Do you have a problem with "loyalty"? Do those super-powerful or stubborn creatures just not want to follow your commands? Well, all you have to do is purchase one of these little (half-inch long) buggers, and your problems will be solved. Just leave it in the cage with your pet, ignore the screams of agony, and in less than 5 minutes, you'll have a perfectly loyal and obedient minion. A little bandaid for that mini blood-spot on the back of it's skull may be required for the 10 minutes after the Nullifier does it's job (and disappears... hrm, wonder where it went). Of course, some "spark" seems to be missing from your pet, and it's eyes may appear a bit more dull than usual - but pay that no mind. Who needs a puppy to play fetch when it can follow your every command instead?

Notes: This item removes the loyalty and level requirements of any pet you use this on, making it trainable by anyone. The creature instantly gains a loyalty of "20" to you and gains the ability "Mechanical Mind". This process cannot be reversed. Can only be used once.

Pumpkin Picker - 500 credits

These charming little robots are perfectly suited to help harvest pumpkins. They use their little claws to snip the vines and carry the gourds around. If you don't teach them anything else, they will keep picking and picking until every pumpkin (and any vaguely pumpkin shaped object) is cleared out. They were originally designed as a Vai Min Mur 'Treat' from Kapper.

Zombie Destroyer - 500 credits

Zombie Destroyers are incredibly tough robots that will stop at nothing to accomplish their singular goal - to destroy the undead. They rely on their incredibly tough metal plating to protect them while they fire lasers from their face to burn their foes. Even a well trained Zombie Destroyer will not be able to ignore its programming if there are undead beings nearby. They were originally designed as a Vai Min Mur 'Trick' from Kapper.
