Granted, the strongest creature left physically doesn't mean it was the remaining will. Tiny mandibles, in a nightmare ring because its a larger then life bug wiggle and scratch at the sac's walls experimentally. very thick. The little thing wants out, and will do so. Spit wells up and is left behind on the sac wall after practically 'licking' it without a tongue. That would be very creepy if a wasp did have one, a tongue. Unlike an earthworm, if someone cut off its head from its body, the wasp would no longer survive. Must be careful of that. He doesn't expect the sac to start moving on its own, and Skylos drops the broom in shocked surprise when it bulges briefly, then quiets down. There's clearly something inside this thing. Ok. He's not afraid of bugs. Of course, he has two giant weavers at his kennel. And they were mercilessly interested in this sac. 54 tbb 4

The sac bulges again, but this time, something pierces it from the inside, and splits it. A shining, tiny claw emerges from the ruby colored sac on the broom, gleaming and steady. The cat, who's more been the scariest thing in the room since 'the incident', can feel his fur on end. Whatever on the end of that broomstick is something he doesn't recognize and it feels... ominous. The claw doesn't move for nearly a minute before a second claw joins it, furthering the split of the sac. With similar behavior to a zipper, actually. A clear, watery liquid bleeds out of the sac as whatever in there opens the split far enough to sit up out of there like some sort of vampire. And its.... a bug. A worm actually. Long as his forearm, with what he could be assuming to be eyes on one end of its long tan body. 55 tbb 5

The voraciousness of a golossle. The resilence of a formica. Smarts of a weaver, and the physical body of a vespa. The kodoku's winner is like a frankenstein of wills, all mushed together with instincts driving most of it. The glittering red compound eyes open, seeing a new world that wasn't the inside of a red sac or the death of many many other bugs and worms. The sac's 'water' bled out into the ground beneath it, slightly bumped up for some reason. The little claws on its 'chest' area reach up as it bends down its head to clean the face, the eyes, the tiny fluff called antennae on the back of its head. No water on the eyes. It rests there for several minutes, cleaning its face and eyes with tiny claws that shouldn't be able to reach its face, or whatever this bug is has no spine ot be said... 56 tbb 6

Even as larvae, vespa seem to have a very keen sense of smell. Can't compare to a dog or something with an actual 'nose' to speak of, but its definitely enough to allow the species to survive. The larvae's mandibles twitch, catching the scent of... something. Something off. The claws stop cleaning its face as the larvae looks up and around. For the most part unless a giant bird swoops by and decides its lunch, the larvae has less to worry about. It slowly looks about, left... and then right... and finally turns right around. Off. Off off off off off. Wasps don't have expressions. It doesn't have teeth persay of being able to draw up like a cat and hiss like one. The legs curl up wards towards its chest, wiggling minutely backwards. The image before it is a large cat man with worng painted all through waht it could see. 57 tbb 7

He hopes that between his dogs and the galabex that they gradually get used to why ever animals just damn spook around him. The cat man sighs, closing his eyes briefly. Its nothing he can actually do about the issue either. Either they become used to him, or are dead scared for life. The dogs may or may not have gotten used to his presence that they won't flee in the other direction as soon as he looks at them. But this freshly hatched giant worm with claws and butterfly eyeballs is clearly not keen on him. Well, at least it didn't hatch out being another spider. He's not sure having another giant weaver in his home is a grand idea. Nothing against the twins, of course. Doesn't know what it is though. The sac of whatever it had broken free of is drying up on the ground over the broom bristles, the ground soaking up whatever liquid inside. 58 tbb 8

Maybe it was hungry first, and reacting scared because hunger got mistaken for fear. Yeah right. What did bugs even eat. Other bugs? Isn't that how spiders work? Granted, Skylos hasn't had to feed the twins, they're gathering their own food; keeping the kennel free of pests. There wasn't much interaction beside a posed curiou question, and making fun of the mind twin for being briefly shrunken. Too bad their telekinesis cancels out on the dream twin. Looking about, he found a random bit of fallen fruit on the ground beside his feet. Picking it up, the cat man creeps closer on his tip toes to place the fruit within reaching distance of the spooked worm, and backs off fast. Fruit doesn't even taste good to him; he's attempted to nibble grass or leaves once, and its... definitely an acquired taste. The vespa flinches when the cat comes close, but drops something before it and ...moves away. ? 59 tbb 9

Thats...not right. Its the other way around, right? The cat is supposed to be the not scared one. The 'option d' in the three option list of 'fight, flight, freeze' doesn't get 'feed' in there unless something dies. It throws the combined will for a loop. Who...why? W doesn't get it, but the alluring smell of the fruit is really pulling 'feed' closer into being a fourth option. A gurgling grumble, the worm's body needs to feed. And this cat... is feeding the worm. Is it stupid or something, W wonders. Or is...that their queen. Looks rather un-bug for their queen, V's instincts dictate. Ugh, he wishes he could understand what something's thinking behind vacant eyes like that. The worm thing with spindle claws hasn't moved an inch since he's dropped the fruit there. Did it not like fruit? What else did it want? Should he find something else to eat? 60 tbb 10 Skylos lv 12

Little did the cat know he was being observed. Both he, and this strange worm creature. The observers are flummoxed, honestly, arguing quietly among themselves from a far enough wayness that being caught is less likely. What with him feeding a damn curse and all. "Is he stupid or somethin'? I can't believe the boss is even remotely interested in this guy!" one observer wails so softly its barely heard. "You dont' feed a bug born in your house!" gesturing wildly at the long tan strip that was the cursed vespa. Maybe they were responsible for putting it there in the first place? "You'll have to have a better explanation then that. It could be a butterfly or something." the second observer, who actually is doing the observing mutters. "Thats no butterfly. Caterpillars and larvae are two different bugs entirely. For one, have you ever seen a caterpillar with blade claws." came the first's argument as they watch. 61 tbb 11

"I've seen hairy bugs, do hairy bugs count?" "No, hairy bugs and fleas do not count. Simpleton. Fleas dont' fly either. It matches all the records of being a vespa. A dragon eater wasp." the second pulls out a 'bug info book' and jabs repeatedly at the badly scribbled image of a worm with t-rex arms. LIke that one, by the cat. "Whats a dragon eater so important for." "Imagine what a wild dragon eater wasp could do if there were wild drakes still running about in this land." the second observer groused. Well, when put like that. "Now put a curse on it. If you don't feed the wasp, you die. And it will take hold of the next owner until someone actually feeds it." More jabbing at a book. "Not to rain on your parade of paranoia over a vespa hatched in his house away from a nest, but why is this even a specific conversation." 62 tbb 12

"Wait. I ahve movement, we have movement!" the observer slaps the fence repeatedly, rudimentary binoculars attached to their face. The other scrambles to shove them aside and look through the opposite eye hole. Indeed the bug is moving, backwards. There's a hollow log that's on the ground, carefully hollowed out by termites. A log not useful for firewood... and the cat is watching it go. Why was it trying to drag the fruit along with it. Very strange. "Hard to believe this cat is a killer..." Not much can be said besides the insistent growling of internals of the vespa larvae body and a growing insistence to feed and feed now. It's not 'starving' per say. But hunger and instinct of going to take its food and hide for a while is what the bug decides to do. Forget the cat, the scary cat doesn't exist for now. Its not even a queen cat. 63 tbb 13

Well, that happened. Skylos doesn't really know...what to do while he watches the worm drag the fallen fruit into a hollow log, as it repeatedly looks behind itself to make sure it knows which direction to scootch. At least with the galabex, he could see what she was feeling. Bugs aren't that expressive, or at least when they're worms. Do worms have feelings? The hollow log is rough under the larvae's skin as it scootches into the log, finally releasing the soft and delectable smelling fruit. Why is it delectable smelling? A claw pierces the softened skin of its prey (the fruit) and tears downward. An earthworm has been wiggling its way around inside the fruit, and that is the true prize. Something wet wells up between its mandibles as the little vespa spits onto the worm's writhing twisted form. If worms had mouths, it would be screaming as the spit ate into its skin and... 64 tbb 14

The worm doesn't stand a chance, W is proud on that. The larvae's spit is dangerously potent on bugs. Probably plants too, because the fruit's soft innard has a sharp stink of erosion by acid. G is just interested in eating, the mandibles taking delicate little bites of the earthworm. Soft, without the most pleasant crunch. Maybe there's a hard shelled bug inside, those are delicious. Granted, slimy vs crunchy, slimy isn't nearly as delectable. The sweet bite of fruit over the flesh of a 'bug' is like having a first meal. Delicious. His ears pick up the sound of something eating. The worm must be enjoying its meal. Well, if it wants holey fruits, Skylos could set those aside for it. Maybe have a log or something for it to just chill out in. Were these the kind of bugs one keeps in a jar? But his jar for Lav and Mum is more then likely broken by now... 65 tbb 15 latenight mosca

Another spends its time sniffing along the dirt-ground, paws gently kicking up any feather-light debris, such as extra small leaves and the larger, dried-out counterparts. A bum-wiggle and pounce, then another, the Msca plays in the dirt & ground, rolling with generous stretches and outstretched toes. It looks like the cat is having a fantastic time getting a dusty-bath, head-to-toe!
