The Dusty Scroll
The quaint little store somehow seems larger from the outside than it does inside, perhaps because of the many bookshelves that line the walls. A sign made up to look like a large old piece of parchment reads in fine calligraphy - The Dusty Scroll.
Inside, the shop smells of tea, paper, and a hint of dust. The walls are lined with shelves, each stacked high with books and the occasional potted plant. The counter is made from sturdy wood, and very occasionally creaks under the weight of stacked books. Behind it, into the dimly lit darkness of the room, there stretches tall sturdy shelves in neat rows, each filled with all manner of literature.
It may take outsiders a moment to realize they're not seeing double - the Dusty Scroll is owned by a pair of nearly identical brothers known collectively as the 'Bukkukipas'. Osamuchi and Kiosamu are small mammalians that resemble pygmy marmosets. One is always climbing around the shelves keeping everything in order, and the other is almost always at the counter reading or taking notes. It's not initially clear which one is which, but thankfully either one is more than happy to take your credits in exchange for a story.
Pets: Only sentient creatures are allowed inside Dusty Scroll.
Note: Each book can be used only once. Once used, it cannot be traded away or sold. Characters must be literate in Common to read the books unless stated otherwise. Book-gained skills must be marked as such on the reader's character sheet.
