How to Create Custom Stats
Basic Guidelines
Step 1: Choose base stats that make sense for your custom’s species and breed.
Step 2: You may swap moves or abilities using the guidelines at the bottom of this thread Only. There is no way to cancel out a negative ability with a positive ability. Choose moves and abilities that make sense! We recommend starting out with a theme for your custom in mind.
Step 3: Each custom automatically gets one added move or ability! Pick what you'd like, but if it's on the Restricted list, it will need to make sense for the custom and require approval.
Step 4: A move or ability gained from an add-on must make sense for that add-on. Any one custom can not have over six added moves or abilities. Restricted moves and abilities require approval prior to registration.

Guidelines in Depth
Step One: Choosing Base Stats
First choose the Base Stats of one of the Common, Limited Edition, or VSC breeds of your custom’s species. The first rule of choosing Base Stats is that you must go by the line-art of your custom. For example, if you order a custom Tainted Equillion, you must use the Tainted Equillion as the base stats, no exceptions. Likewise, you must follow the correct life stage for your custom and the breed in question. If your Tainted Equillion is an adult, you must follow the adult Tainted Equillion base stats.
But what if there are multiple LEs or VSC that share your custom’s line-art? For example, the Domestic and Wild Vulticus both share the same line-art. There are many species where all of the breeds share the same line-art. This means that you can choose any of those breed’s base stats as your base stats! Have fun with it!
Some species are confusing! For example, Malii have ethereal wings or no wings. Some Seeker breeds have spines, others don’t. Only one breed of Chelcauda has long spines. In these cases, go with what fits the closest. If your Malii custom has no ethereal wings, use the stats for Foxfire, Gem, or Woodland Malii. Sometimes you may be able to get special approval for a custom that doesn’t exactly follow the line-art of the breed it most closely resembles, but those cases will be very rare. (see later on this thread for information on custom Gallor)

Step Two: Swapping Moves & Abilities
You may only switch out Moves and Abilities for your custom using the guidelines below. This is a soft release of these guidelines, and if they need to be updated in the future they will. Swaps have to follow the public guidelines below to be accepted.
Step Three: Additional Move/Ability
Now here’s the fun part! Every custom gets one additional move OR ability to add on to your custom’s base stats! You may choose nearly any move or ability to add, but there are some restricted moves or abilities that we will go over later in this post. All that we ask is that this move or ability makes some sense!
If your pet doesn’t have any wings, it won’t be able to fly, but if it’s going to have a psychic theme it might be able to levitate. If your pet has Fire Weakness, it wouldn’t be able to also have Fire Resistance. You can’t cancel out a negative ability with a positive one!
Use this move or ability to add something to your pet and go with whatever theme you were planning when you requested its creation! Have fun!

Step Four: Add-ons
Now, say your custom has an add-on or two? Lucky you, you get another more or ability for your pet! However, a move or ability provided by an add-on must make sense for that add-on. Your base move or ability can be whatever you choose for your custom, but any move or ability gained by an add-on must be gained directly from that add-on being a part of your pet.
For example, say you get extra fur or a mane on your custom. It would make sense if the custom were to gain Thick Fur or Loosen Fur from that add-on. If your custom is on fire, you should probably give it Flame Body or Fire Resistance! Please make sure the move or ability you gain from an add-on makes sense for that add-on.
Customs may not have more that six added moves or abilities. If you have a 10-addon custom? It will have no more than 6 added moves or abilities. After the first couple of added moves or abilities, any additional ones will be more strictly monitored. Please don't go too ridiculous with these customs or we may have to implement more rules to keep the game fair for everyone.
