'The Beyond' aka adventuring and traveling outside of the city/canyon with a focus on rare/exclusive rewards. This is too resource intensive to implement at the moment.
New creatures. WELP does not accept specific suggestions for upcoming creature releases. While it is possible to suggest creatures for other purposes, keep in mind that art-intensive suggestions are unlikely to be accepted at the moment.

This suggestion is not the above, though it touches on some similarities.
This suggestion is to add a new section to the site called “The World Beyond”.
This section would consist of two subforums, one technically OoC, and the other for roleplay.
The non-roleplay subforum, the “Explorer’s Notes”, would consist of threads(one per user) filled with world setting information(cultures, languages, beasts, places, etc) that users would like to allow others to experience. None official, and all perfectly ignorable if person A wants a kingdom that holds a section of the mountains in the north and rides mounts of glittering ice but person B wants only a village of Uthax to be at the same spot(maybe keeping the ice-borne beasts should they wish). If person C thinks that icy kingdom would be the perfect place for a murder mystery though, they could use it. This section is merely a way to give others permission to put their characters through something another player has made up, but does not require it.
The roleplay subforum, something I’ll refer to as the “Adventures” subforum, would consist of roleplay threads that take place outside of the City. Player characters and creatures would grow at their normal paces for levels and loyalty, but no further tangible rewards could be gained. Similar to the Plot section hoping to inspire character development, the hope for this area would be to inspire adventures rather than grinding for any particular thing. So, if someone wants to go be part of a mercenary band in the deserts, escorting or raiding as they wish, they could. If they wanted to go to some kingdom their character is from and have a political drama or mystery, they are free to do so. If they want to make an outpost with their friends and explore regions during the day while fighting baddies at night, they can. If they want to explore unseen depths or walk amongst the clouds as they inspect a city in the sky, they can. If they want to defend a town against impossible odds, or be the attackers claiming them, they could do so. And they could play with others in these adventures, whether on opposite sides or working together.
And no, travel time would not be considered a requirement to reach these places. Players would be able to start their thread in the tundra if they so wished, with a casual hand-wave that ‘it had been a few weeks of traveling to get there’ rather than grinding their way through the areas between.
The Misc section does not work for this. The lack of any possible reward(including levels) and that nothing there officially happens makes it unappealing. And, with the laid-back approach used in regards to describing the City, I think an official section allowing for the mentioned above sections would fit in with what currently exists.
There would be some basic protections to prevent someone from doing something like claiming to have snagged some overpowered beast and trying to use it in the pit. A simple point that the City(and the Canyon by extension) does not allow imports (beyond the made lab creatures, should a player wish to ‘hunt and capture’ something they bought or already technically own) should work well enough, with maybe something mentioned like the Sentinel Officers serving as enforcers for this law.
Staff would not have anything added to their workload beyond the usual enforcement of base forum rules, as there would be no need for them to roll dice or make response posts in the Adventures area(unless it is their own adventure thread). Players would get to use their characters and beasts in locations outside the City, allowing for use of certain adventuring-flavored items, and allowing for challenges beyond the relatively minor ones seen in the City.
I know this one is a bit of a long shot, but I think it would be fun to open up the rest of the world to the players, rather than being mostly trapped in the City, and this method hopefully would not add to the staff's already considerable workload beyond making the new section. Thoughts and opinions are welcome.
