She wanted to run out of the mansion and leave everything behind. But she knew that wouldn't help things much. After all, she still had a job that she needed to do. First, she needed to run away from all of these strange robots. The mansion was ginormous, she should be able to do it without too much hassle. Then, she needed to toughen Kilowatt up with some training. He was already acclimatizing as her exploration partner very well, but he still needed some proper battle training. He didn't know how to use any moves after all.
There was nothing of interest to be found in this new room, only more hallways to head down. She decided to start with the first one as she had been doing this entire trip. Kilowatt squirmed to be put down as they started heading down the closest hallway. Some independence would do him good.

They continued down the next series of halls, passing by two doors, briefly checking to reveal two rooms that appeared to be empty. Leafy entered the second one, hoping to find something useful that missed her eye. Before she could begin to explore, she heard Kilowatt begin to growl once more. This time, he was louder than before. The sound reverberated through the hallway and drew her gaze towards the end of it where a figure was standing. It was the humanoid animatronic from earlier, but it managed to look even more dilapidated.
Instead of running, Leafy realized that she would have to fight it. Clearly, outrunning it hadn't been possible. She turned to face the humanoid animatronic, Kilowatt's teeth were barred. As she did so, she noticed that the humanoid animatronic was now also moving towards them. She steeled herself with a deep breath. It was on its last legs, how hard could it be to beat?

If she lost, she had no idea what she would do. Maybe she should try to run again. The humanoid animatronic approached her, its head lowered menacingly. She braced herself for the attack. Its movements were slow and jagged, which Leafy found easy to dodge. The girl could be quick enough when she wanted to be. Kilowatt let out a fierce growl and moved in front of her after she dodged a second time.
The robot made a grab for him, but he backed up quickly and shook his head. Before Leafy could shield him from the robot's next move, a high-pitched electrical whine sounded in the room. Had the robot brought friends? Before Leafy could shield him from the robot's next move, a high-pitched electrical whine sounded in the room. Had the robot brought friends? She couldn't see any others, but the noise persisted. Where on earth was that coming from?

A few moments later, she realized that the noise had been coming from Kilowatt. Electric energy crackled around him, not powerful enough to do damage, but it appeared to be messing with the animatronics’ electrical components. The robot appeared stunned and Leafy decided that running still was their best option. The thing was a lot tougher than it looked! She scooped up Kilowatt again and ran out of the empty room, deciding to try her luck with the room she had skipped over. She practically dove through the door, swinging it shut behind her once she and Kilowatt were safely through.
The room was just as unremarkable as it had been when she skipped over it. There was a desk in the center of the room, a couple chairs opposite of it, and a massive tablecloth sitting on top of it. She frowned when she saw that there wasn’t any food here.

Bookshelves lined the walls, but the books were all the same, dull set of medical textbooks. Really nothing of use for her here. She sighed and began to turn to leave when Kilowatt suddenly let out another ferocious roar. His posture became rigid and he strained against her grip, clearly agitated.
Kilowatt struggled to get free, but she was able to hold onto him. When he had calmed down some, only then did she allow him to get loose. After all, acting on impulse typically never went too well.
"Okay boy, what's wrong?" she asked him.
He tilted his head, looking at her for a long time before he responded changed direction to stare at the door. She responded with a confused look, she couldn't hear whatever it was that he had. She took a step towards the opposite door and Kilowatt decided to follow her, agreeing with her choice.

All of the robots chasing them had stopped for now. It would be ideal to try and get away while they had the chance. With that thought in mind, Leafy opened the other door and stepped through it. Once inside, she immediately regretted opening the door.
Two enormous, creepy statues stood in the center of the room. At this point, she was a bit relieved they weren't more robots. But she wasn't quite sure if they would remain inanimate. Kilowatt walked forward to sniff them. He snorted and growled loudly. They didn't move. She tried to keep her cool, but she was starting to worry. She gave it a few more seconds before she accepted that they wouldn't move. She then took the chance to look around the rest of the room. The rest of the room was empty except for a chair and an old TV resting atop the tablecloth.

The TV didn't appear to work. Or at least, there was no way she could tell. When she turned back to the statue, she noticed something odd about it. When she glanced over at it, it had the distinct energy of being alive. She put her hand on the smooth stone, surface and felt a distinct chill. It was unable to move, that much was clear, but that didn't stop it from feeling alive. She considered messing with the statue, trying to figure out how to worked, but it seemed safer to simply leave it alone. She gestured to Kilowatt and the two of them began to search for a door. Neither one of them found anything of interest until she came across a small door in the corner. She noticed that it was slightly ajar and pushed it open further. To her surprise, there was a room beyond the door.

Inside the room, she saw a large bed with a black duvet cover, a nightstand, and a dresser. The furniture was antique, but the room itself looked clean. It even smelled nice. But that wasn't what was odd about it. What really caught her attention was the fact that there was a mannequin laying in the middle of the floor. The doll had long blonde hair, round, pale blue eyes, and a porcelain complexion. Leafy was certainly starting to get tired of all these humanoid looking contraptions. Kilowatt let out a low growl as he passed the mannequin. He was not much of a fan of it either.
Leafy eyed the mannequin again, wondering why it was in the room. She reached out to touch it but stopped herself. That was again, just asking for trouble. Instead of touching the thing, she moved to the bed. She sat on it, staring up at the ceiling.

Kilowatt followed suit, lying down next to her. She lay there, listening to Kilowatt's breathing for a moment or so. She wondered how long it would be before they were inevitably discovered by more robotic creatures. She started to wonder if there might have been another way out. If she knew where the exit was, maybe she could find a better way to escape these strange beings. She pushed herself back up into a sitting position, throwing a wary glance over towards the mannequin on the floor.
"Maybe I should take a closer look just to make sure it's not going to jump out at us," Leafy mumbled. She pushed herself off the bed and moved closer to the mannequin. She squinted down at it suspiciously, watching for it to move.
Instead, she jumped when she heard a noise coming from behind her.
"What is it boy?" Leafy asked Kilowatt. "Did you hear something too?"

He nodded, growling softly, trying to indicate to Leafy that they needed to be careful. She quickly moved back over by the door to avoid any sudden movements. She slowly peeked around the edge of the wall to see what was making the noise. There was nothing there, but the sound continued. It sounded like someone was knocking. She turned her head back to the mannequin, but it still didn't move. The knock continued, louder now. She waited, tense, expecting whoever it was to burst in at any second. She held her breath, waiting. And then the door creaked open a bit, allowing her to finally catch sight of who was outside.
Kilowatt pressed up close against her, growling lowly to warn whoever it was, off. However, it wasn't a human that had been knocking. Instead, a grim, shadowy figure could be seen blending in with the shadows within the room.

Leafy froze in place. Her heart raced. This was bad news. For some reason, she couldn't help but feel that something else had entered the room. She watched as the door fully opened and the dark figure stepped inside. Kilowatt thrust his tail into the air menacingly. If Leafy could recall properly, she believed one of the move's in the Wiurn's arsenal was poison sting. If the shadow figure drew too close, it was at risk of facing Kilowatt's wrath.
However, the creature ignored the threat. It stepped deeper into the room, only to reveal itself as a a complete shadow apparition. When it got too close, Kilowatt waved his tail warningly, but the figure didn't care. Instead, before it could do them harm, it vanished underneath the beam of Leafy's flashlight as the girl switched it on. She let out a sigh of relief when it was evident they were alone once more.

She glanced over at Kilowatt, who seemed to relax a little too. His posture had calmed down, and he began to lick his front claws. She gave him a nudge with her foot, prompting him to follow her as she returned to the bed. Kilowatt merely grunted, taking a moment to throw a mistrustful look towards the mannequin on the ground.
"Maybe we should take a short rest," Leafy remarked as her mouth soon opened in a yawn. The bed was soft enough and if she closed her eyes for a bit, that wouldn't hurt their journey at all. Kilowatt climbed up onto the bed as she sat down and the two of them took a moment to relax.
***
When Leafy awoke, she found herself in a different part of the house than she had been. In fact, she was sitting on a couch in the living room. Kilowatt was next to her, snoozing happily away.

The mansion seemed to like pulling strange tricks on her. She couldn’t tell if they had been transported, or if the room had changed while they were still in it. She placed one hand on Kilowatt, checking to see if he was still the same. She didn’t feel anything different, so she assumed he was still the same Wiurn that she had entered with. He soon woke up with all of her prodding and yawned wide.
"Hey buddy," she said, scratching the back of his neck gently. "We're in a new room."
Kilowatt blinked sleepily, looking around curiously. He sniffed the air, taking note of the smell of coffee. Leafy caught on to the smell as well, but she looked around, she couldn’t identify an obvious source. She liked coffee well enough, as long as it had enough sugar in it to make it taste sweet. She was a touch disappointed there wasn’t any to be found.

She stood up and stretched out her arms, letting out a content sigh, feeling energized after sleeping in such a comfortable bed. She wanted to get up, but she also felt compelled to stay in the comfort of the leather couch. She knew she should probably get started and figure out what her purpose was here though.
"Let's head downstairs," she told Kilowatt, picking him up and placing him on the ground. There was a staircase here that seemed the most promising place to head first.
She put one foot on the stairs, but hesitated. She suddenly had a bad feeling about her decision, so she decided to give the top stair a try, just to test her footing. As soon as she hit the first step, it felt as though gravity shifted. As soon as she hit the first step, it felt as though gravity shifted. She felt her muscles grow heavy.

As though she had slept too long and was now too groggy to move. As she tried to keep going, she lost her balance, falling forwards. She landed hard, face-first on the floor, her body hitting the ground as she tumbled down the steps.
That is the last thing she remembered until she came to with Kilowatt licking her cheek. Her body ached as though she had been hit with a truck and then she remembered that she basically had been. Falling down the stairs was never fun and nobody ever looked cool doing it. She felt embarrassed and quickly reassured Kilowatt that she was alright with a quick pat on the head in return.
"I'm fine," she reassured the Wiurn, "just a little dizzy. I think we need to get moving."
They both made their way to the bottom of the stairs, which turned out to lead to a fancy kitchen.
