Quest #33
Approaching the quest board, you notice a strange catlike mammalian leaning against it. Her tail twitches behind her. She has calico fur and bright lime green eyes, both partially obscured by a purple cloak she has pulled up over her head. She grins at you as you approach, revealing her sharp teeth.
"Why hello there stranger," she says as you step into earshot. "Lookin' for something to do?"
"I got a request for ya. Think you're up for it?" She pulls her left paw out from under the cloak, revealing a small glass sphere. Given that you're intrigued enough to her her out, she continues.
"It's simple, really. Bring this into that weird old mansion, and fill it up. Once it's full, just bring it back. I'll give you something worth the trouble. Promise."
Fill it... fill it with what? No matter how you ask, she evades the question and assures you that it'll work itself out. Perhaps you better just get started and see what happens for yourself.

The energy his worginu seemed to have ended up being more then what was run off during being given 'outside time' by the inquisitor's staff. She nearly knocked him flat in excitement with being able to see her cat friend again. The muzzle repeatedly bumped into his jaw so she couldn't express her thrills of seeing him by licking him. He learned that fast. No licking, especially his face.
The thick muzzle has an off, burning smell from her corrosive drool. Ugh. Likely that means he'll need a new muzzle or to buy a treatment for it.
Finally, he opens the door to the kennel from his outing. There's a faint buzzing beyond the heavy door. ? What was that noise?
Kitri looks from him to the door, putting her muzzled head under his arm. Why stop? Open home! Wait. What noise? She pauses, floppy ears slightly perked. Sort of... zzzz? It made her ears feel funny. She whines, butting the cat man's limb again. What wrong? Open home!
The buzzing didn't increase, so Skylos ended up opening the door. The buzzing felt like it invaded his hearing. Bzzzzz.... BZZZZZ...
Before he could move, Kitri forced her way indoors, loudly. The buzzing paused. Before there's LOUD buzzing, and a flurry of wings.
Above! Looking up, cat and giant dog see a MASSIVE wasp, clinging to an air duct.
'Oh ****.' A rough human word escapes the inside of his mind as the cat's fur naturally doubles in size. He'd completely forgotten about what time of year it was. The giant gemlike cocoons in the next room, towering about his ear height at their tippy tops. They had done nothing for so long... and was this the result? The massive tan wasp/bee thing, hanging upside down, its huge red eyes wheeling like it was dizzy? He felt any residual blood that rushed to his head while flat on his back drain down and away. However his thick black fur doesn't show that.
Kitri is... bothered. Not by giant bug above her head. Nah, if she stands up UP, and swipes, might be able to reach big butt bug and it would come down here. No, the bzzz bzzz noise bothers her. This big bug makes a noise that hurts ears. She grumbles, rubbing a knuckled paw at her ear. Barks once. Loud.
They had waited. The worm's body had finally broken down after months of nothing. But all must rebuild. The giant voraciousness of a golossle. The smarts of a weaver. The resilience of a formica, all squeezed into the body of a vespa. A true vespa, no doubt. And that all mixed up into this creature. Red eyes spun in place as a mishmash of sensations and feelings run through the wasp, namely the sound. It doesn't like the bark. Loud. Focus down. Cat creature. Dog creature.
There are different ways to how the animal or humanoid world reacts to being stared down in active danger. Being intimidated, fight or flight. In the vespa's case, its abdomen raises off the duct, showing a stinger long as Skylo's arm. Showing it was a threat. The loud dog creature is seen as a threat. However V is bigger than the dog creature, and thus more dangerous. Yes, be afraid, F hisses. For I am big, and dangerous to you. Wings buzz menacingly.
Kitri is used to being the largest animal in the room. If she puts her paw on the cat man's head, he is smaller than her standing up on her hind legs. So having a bug, A BIG BUG, being scary... is ...wrong. She doesn't like it. She barks again, and sees the big sting. A lingering ache in her tummy is there now. She remembers eating something big and green from her puppyhood, and having a very bad tummy hurt after. It tastes bad on the back of her mouth, and its not her own corrosive drool. She growls at the thing, and barks again. The bug buzzes again. Communicating danger to her.
She felt...intimidated now.
Something grabs hold of her scruff as the cat has to jump to do so... backing out carefully.

He's being followed. It took more then enough tugging on Kitri to convince her to back off. She's told to follow him, as he picks his way downstairs on the metal stairs. Need it be said that having an animal who is more then your own size taking stairs is a tight squeeze. The worginu's front paws are enormous, with her normal sized back legs having no problems. But her paw is about the size of the step itself.
The buzzing noise of wings behind him... why is the giant wasp following him out. The door is big enough for kitri, but how'd the bug get out?
He doesn't make it beyond the door of the kennel before someone purple comes before him. There's enough time to see a pair of multicolored ears before the purple drags him roughly into a corner. Kitri bounds after them, growling audibly. She barks. The purple hood tosses back... another cat like him... and hisses at the dog who is trying to scare her.
/Kitri not dangerous. Who are you?/ he asks the cat person. Their eyes are brightly lime green.
She asks him about needing something to do. Well, sort of. He's looking to escape being stung by a bug the size of a wagon. The buzzing is humming in his ears as she/they places the orb in his paws and wants him to carry this around in the mansion of all places. The glass? orb is empty, almost see-through. To fill it up... but she doesn't elaborate and releases him, mentioning that he'd be found when its full.
G hates doors. They are too small for fitting through. The rest of the joined minds are in agreement. Because the ground isn't a good place for a bug to remain, even if you have to walk through on hooked claws with wings folded to be able to follow the cat and food.

Bark! New cat! New cat isn't afraid of worginu? The much larger canid growls at her, her front half splayed apart in a 'big tough' stance. This is HER cat, thank you very much. Go away! She smells off, like cat friend, but she is ...getting used...to cat friend's offness. After all, he feeds her. He helped her mate find her. He's a good cat friend. Even if he does smell kinda chasey.
The female isn't impressed by the tough act of the worginu as she leaves, its the twitch of the tail that gives her away. Skylos is more focused on the 'omg there's another cat like me in the city' then the fact that she'd practically tried to mug him into giving this orb to him and then choosing to leave. Her tail is a giveaway that she's not impressed. Well, he's... humans are fancy, and he wants to be too. But it may have been his own gaze and it was a bit too low once it dropped off her eyes, but her cloak doesn't leave much to be imagined, if he could see past it.
She shooed him out of the alleyway and points towards the road to lead him towards the mansion. Better hurry, your stalker bug is on your trail.
