The stage lights were bright and hot, but Fiera wasn't breaking a sweat. She was an old pro on the contest circuit by now, and she wasn't about to be intimidated by these yokels. The audience for the toughness tussle was different from the usual sort. They looked like the kind that was aching to see cool monsters breaking stuff instead of a more delicate, coordinated show. Well, Fiera could still satisfy them regardless- Lincoln certainly counted as an impressive beast. "Hello, everyone!" She said, waving to the audience. "I have an old favorite for you all today- Lincoln!" She said, gesturing off stage. "Lincoln, come here!" She said, and he came ambling over, the stage lights glinting off of his plating beautifully as he stepped into the light, earning an appreciative murmur from the crowd. "As a lamadidron, Lincoln is one of the toughest beasts I own! Look at the plates, the armor! Resistance is the name of the game here- nothing fazes this guy!" She said, slapping him on the rump. She saw a few audience members flinch at the sound, but Lincoln didn't budge- entirely because Fiera had trained him not to. (Lincoln uses Come, Tolerance)

"Lincoln, sit." She said, snapping her fingers as she did so, and the lamadidron plopped himself down, sending up a puff of dust from the ground. Fiera took out a stick, from her sleeve- not really a magic trick, but a dramatic reveal regardless. She ran it up and down the plates gently. It made a clinking sound, amplified, by the architecture of the contest hall, almost like a xylophone- but definitely not like regular soft flesh. "These plates aren't just for show either! They have special properties- but I'll get to those later." She said with a wink. "For the most part, they're as hard as stone!" She said, raising the stick up and thwacking it against Lincoln's plates as hard as she could, snapping it in half for the audience to marvel at- and leaving nary a scratch on Lincoln's plating. She picked up the other half of the stick and held it up so the audience could see.
(Lincoln uses Sit and demonstrates Stone Skin, Fiera uses the stick.)

"Of course, those plates aren't just for defense- that resistance comes in handy for offense as well!" She said, gesturing to a dummy she had set up on the stage before the contest started. She gestured at it to Lincoln. "Lincoln- Strike!" She said, and the lamadidron heaved himself up once more, moving sluggishly- before whipping his tail around so fast that Fiera couldn't even see it, instead just feeling the sharp wind on her face as it just barely missed her. He slammed it against the dummy, shattering its plastic casing and sending pieces of it flying into the stands. After he calmed down again, Fiera held up his tail- there wasn't a single scratch on it, but the hardness of his plates had been used to pulverize the dummy. "Behold! He's perfectly fine- but his foes are not!" She said, gesturing at the mess he had made behind her.
(Fiera uses the dummy, Lincoln uses Tail Strike.)

"Ah, but I bet you're all waiting for those special properties I mentioned!" Fiera said, hyping up the crowd. "Well, allow me to show you!" She said, holding up a strange looking box. It was not a box at all of course, but a carrier for a special kind of pocket pet. She slid open the front and out floated what appeared to be a tiny sentient cloud with little dot eyes and a constant little drizzle of rain below it. "You see, Lincoln isn't resistant to just physical damage, oh no. He's resistant to electricity as well!" She gripped one of the shards of the stick. One of the quirks of this pocket pet was that it was always at least a little bit upset- rainy day stormclouds always tended to be like that- but annoy it enough, and it would give you a nasty little shock to punish you.

And if there was one thing Fiera was good at, it was being annoying. The creature drifted over to Lincoln, who was by far the biggest and most impressive thing in the room. He sniffed at it, but overall seemed uninterested, turning back to Fiera. With expert aim, Fiera tossed one of the halves of the stick at the pocket pet, bouncing it off the top of the creature's head. Not enough to hurt it... but she watched as it roiled and blackened with anger before letting out a bolt of lightning that would wake up anyone who was dozing off in the audience right now. As Lincoln was closest, it hit him squarely on one of his plates... but just like before, the copper lamadidron hardly seemed to notice it, and instead the electricity arced through his crystalline plates, lighting them up before finally going quiet as his body absorbed it. It was a fantastic final display, and Fiera got a very pleasing amount of applause as she took Lincoln offstage. She'd just have to wait and see if any of the other competitors were able to beat that.
(Fiera used the stormcloud pocketpet, the stick (again), and displays Lincoln's Electrical Immunity.)

Looking around at what is still in the back of the Contest Hall where everyone is waiting to do there showing, she notes quite quickly that there are not a lot of contestants like she is used to. Just one handful with her included, and none of them a baby.
She will have her work cut out for her.
But that is alright, she already expected as much when choosing to take Killua with her for this.
As she already washed Killua at home, and brushed most of his fur than, she won’t have to do much more that then, she could already let him perform, but instead, she lowered the cub to the ground and kneeled down. Picking the de-matter comb from her pocket, she scratches him on the chin with one hand as a distraction while combing his fur to make it run extra smooth and soft. “Mreww!” She hears him chirp out as she comes to his favorite spot on his back, in between his wings and tail.
“Your doing good Kill’.” She murmurs as Killua stayed near her while she groomed him, checking the feathers on his wings to see if he has any loose feathers that might make him look more ruffled in appearance, only needing to pull one out gentle that is misplaced. Tickling Killua’s nose with it, she grins as his interest in playing with it gets ignited, his whiskers firmly pointed forwards as his nose twitches.
Letting go of the feather, she lets Killua play with it as she pockets the comb and takes out a red bottle of ‘Feather or Fur Dye’ brand and a small brush that tends to be used for make-up, unscrewing the cap of the bottle quickly and placing it on the ground, she holds the tiny brush. “Killua?” She calls out as he swipes at the feather, gaining his attention. Scratching him behind the ear with her free hand for just a second, she than dips the brush with the other in the red dye, swiping the excess on the mouth of the bottle. “Stay still Killua.” She murmurs while using the brush to add red stripes on his face, in between the ones on his cheek, adding one vertical comma on each side of his face where the eyebrows are at. Being careful to pause and take of the brush when Killua squirms at certain parts. “Still doing good Killua, almost done.” She says with a grin to him, scratching him on the chest. He spreads his wings out in reaction. Dipping the brush back in the dye for more, she continues doing it with the shoulder marking on each side, placing a dot in the middle of the black like an eye, than does some of the tips of his wings as, even if they are small, they are still very eye-catching to behold.
When that is done, she caps the dye bottle, wraps the brush in some paper tissues she had with her, and stores them back in her pocket once more.
There is just one final item to make it perfect.
Taking out of her pocket a string with silver bells attached to it has Killua’s ears twitch as he looks up in the direction of the tiny chimes that the bells emit. The sound making very interested in what she is planning to do with it.
“Sit still for a moment longer Kill’, almost done.” She murmurs to the kitten as she scratches him under the chin, being careful not to have him rub his face against her hand and ruin the still drying make-up. She decides to tie the string around his neck, with enough space to make certain it won’t choke him. She struggles only with the part of tying it when she also has to be careful not to get too close to the red dye, not wanting to have it be smeared, and ruin her work.
Once she is done and checks the time and notices that all in all, getting Killua ready took maybe ten to fifteen minutes, and most of that time was spend on brushing his fur, and dying the parts she wanted red without smearing the results.
Now that he is ready, she stands up and calls out to her playful companion a quick, “Let’s go Killua.” command to have him follow her. The tiny meow she gains in protest as he is pawing at the bells on his neck may sound disagreeable, but he does end up following right after her as she makes her way to where they can perform. She feels relieved in seeing that while she had taken a while to get Killua ready, someone else is already performing and looks to be almost done with it.
A copper lamadidron showing of his skills in his electric attacks, something she had been thinking of letting Killua do as well, but at the end of the day decided it would be better to focus on some tricks instead.

When it is her turn with Killua, she has the little cub still following behind her, a bit grumpy in posture unfortunately, as she kept preventing him to play with the bells around his neck, but nonetheless does show his curiosity in what is going on around him as he looks around at the judges and spectators with a confused chirp as they stop at the center of the stage. “Hello all!” She says brightly, smiling as she gives a wave and then a bow towards the judges, afterwards she looks up. “I am Twilight and this is Killua Azakura, just a mosca cub.” She chuckles lightly as she waves at her small companion when she takes a step aside to show said cub having tried to hide a little behind her legs. “But one I trained extensively to be tougher then its fellow Mosca cubs. Sadly though, I don’t really know a way to show it. Not with one so young.” She’d be foolish to throw rocks at her cub just to prove a point, Killua wouldn’t get why she’s trying to hit him with it, nor would it prove a good showing, even if he wouldn’t get injured that quickly from it.

“So,” Clapping her hands together and holding them in that position for a moment she continues. “while he does know a neat little trick with electrifying his teeth, I have been focusing more on certain other tricks.” Having said her piece, she is quick to focus on him as he looks at the audience, ears perked into their direction while his eyes can’t seem to focus on just a single point, but rather, seem to glance at everything. “Killua let’s go.” She calls out, gaining his focus enough that he starts walking after her when she moves from the center closer to the bleachers, having him follow her around for a single lap while the bells on his chest chime in gentle notes and his wings open in a way that one might think he is trying to catch enough air under them to fly with. He easily shows off the red markings she painted on his face, shoulders and wings. It feels for her like it emphasizes his bright blue eyes and black markings.

Once she is done showing he followed after her on command, and not like a little imprinted duckling, she is quick to take out of her pocket a squeaky toy spider. “Killua fetch!” She says while throwing the toy behind him. “Mrew!” Her cub chirps out happily as he goes after the toy, bells chiming gentle against his neck, while the flashes of red on his wings show up quite a bit as he flaps with them. The toy squeaks as it hits the ground, once, then twice, before falling silent. Only when Killua pounces on it does it give another mighty squeak as his weight falls on it. “Mrew!” She smiles as Killua is quick to respond back to it, biting on one of the many legs this toy has Killua picks it up in his mouth and is quick to return at her side. “Good boy.” Scratching him under his chin as a reward, she hopes the sound of his purring isn’t getting too loud when he does it.

“Now one last time.” She calls out as she picks up the spider toy that Killua dropped at her feet, gaining the tiny kitten’s attention to the toy once more as he visible perks up at the sight. “Killua fetch!” She throws it once, this time hitting the middle of the bleacher, lips twitching in a grin as she hears it squeak first from that, and then at the sight of Killua wiggling his furry little butt as his prey lays still on the ground. Teeth chattering, he pounces on it with enough weight to make it squeak as he bites on one of its legs and drags it back to her. “Killua come!” She calls out as she kneels down when her cub comes close enough to take the toy away from him. Ears perking up at that command, he needs only a few seconds more to focus on using his tiny claws to climb on her jeans, than her coat till he reaches his final destination, her shoulders. A lick on her cheek in thanks, she hears him purrs in enjoyment as he had been given the chance to play a little.

Standing up slowly so that he has an easy time adjusting where he needs to keep his grip on her while hitching a ride on her shoulder, she pockets the toy. She smiles as starts making a single lap around the stage. Showing the audience Killua from up close, she doesn’t do it in slow measured steps, rather she does it in a fast-walking pace, though, she is certain that even if she’d run, he would still be able to keep himself on her shoulder. When she is done with her single lap, she heads to the middle of the stage once more. “Well, this is basically it, I know compared to other competitors he might be a little, well, let’s say too cute to be a tough little guy. But compared to his species? Especially at this stage of life?” She pauses for a moment to scratch him behind his back, the one place she knows for certain she hasn’t painted any red marks on his fur.
The purring just seems pick it up a notch as his tail starts to curl around the hand scratching his back. “He is one tough little guy that has more resilience in him than a cat on catnip while experiencing the zoomies.” She chuckles, not sure if anyone would get what she is saying, but amused with her own words nonetheless. “I wish you all a good day, and hope you enjoyed Killua’s act.” She doesn’t bow this time, merely giving a nod on the account of having a little cub hanging on her shoulders. Turning around she fetches from her pocket a few meat treats that she gives him for the good work he did as she heads to the back stage, wondering what the other contesters would show in their round to the public and judges while the tinkling of the bells around Killua’s neck continue to chime with her and his movements on her shoulder as she walks away.

Though I had taken the time to clean up her scales and make sure her claws were free of mud, I did not give Mercedes any accessories for her appearance. I did not think that a cute bow or beautiful necklace was the sort of thing they were looking for in a toughness contest. That made it even more difficult to score points on top of the already unusual prompt. Without something lovely to look at, the judges would be spending a lot more time scrutinizing our performance. As soon as our turn came along, I took the stage with Mercedes following me closely. She did not look too comfortable in front of the crowd, so I decided I would not drag it out longer than necessary. "Welcome all," the voice that rang out from my collar was loud and clear. "I am Star, and today I will be showing you all the toughest creature I know - Mercedes the Lamididron." [19.2, 1.6]

"As you can see, Mercedes is covered in thick, protective plates." I tapped my claws against one of the plates on her shoulder for emphasis. That wasn't all, though. I pulled a small potion bottle out from my bag. Though it looked like some poisonous mystery brew, it was actually just some juice in a fancy bottle.
"Nothing can get through these," I said. Then, I swiftly tapped the bottle against her shoulder, smashing it to bits and raining purple liquid and glass onto the stage. The effect was dramatic and sudden, hopefully making the crowd stir with excitement.
The glass breaking also had a secondary effect - it caused Mercedes to start gleaming with light, just as she was trained to do. Her brilliant gemlike scales glimmered with a newfound power, protecting her even more from future blows.
"At the first signs of a fight, Mercedes uses her crystal power to make herself even more difficult to strike," I explained.
[19.25, 1.8] [Using juice bottle, Mercedes uses Gleam to increase her resistance by 1.]

It was finally their turn! Silver quickly scooped up Faye and headed on to the stage. They felt a bit odd bringing such a small creature out for a show about toughness, but it was by far not the strangest thing they had ever done. She was actually a really tough little thing, and not just for her size, either. All they had to do was prove it to everyone watching, and she might even place in the contest. "Hi, ah, ahem, Hello everyone!" Silver said. The beginning came out squeaky, but they found their voice by the end. "This is Faye, and she is an exotic creature known as a Whiptail Jackaroo." They weren't one of the labs' more common experiments, so they thought it would be good to introduce her that way. Now everyone could know a bit more about her and her species. They liked when they could squeeze in a bit of information about their creatures into the contests. [149.95, 0.4]
