Briar was used to going down to the trader's every month now. It wasn't a bad place; the person who ran it didn't seem interested in anything but doing business, which suited Briar just fine, and he'd visited the establishment often enough that he had grown used to its eccentricities. It was easier to acclimate to than some of the other things he'd grown used to.
He liked it less when he had to bring live things to trade. It didn't happen often, but apparently fish -- or maybe seafood? -- was one of the trader's areas of interest. At least this time it was shells; it made him more uneasy to show up with fishbowls. Some shellfish in a little net bag was easier to handle.
He set that little net bag on the counter once he entered the establishment. -I'm looking for a magic crystal,- he signed. But then, he always was.

The trader observed the net bag, and then drew it closer to himself. What did they have...? Hm, some fine little goods, if a bit small. They would suffice decently for what the customer sought. With a nod, the exchange was confirmed, and the crystal was being obtained.
