While she had made certain to use her Trod to buy a few fishing supplies to take along on her journey to one of the nearby rivers and wearing one pair of new boots. She still didn’t quite feel certain on what to do. She knows she could have read books about it, and invest more time in the handling of fishing something up, but it also feels kind of interesting to just do it this way? Really, she wouldn’t mind if the day ends up being a bust. It would still be a day out with Yuki to explore this place and see what it has to offer them. Of course, with Yuki still being a pup, she has for the most part need to carry the little one in her arms while the poor thing is sleeping. Just snuffling in the crook of her arm while smacking her lips. It’s only been a day ago that she took Yuki to the gardens and made her tired so completely, that she hadn’t even responded to her packmates as she was brought back to her space. Completely tuckered out of all that she tried teaching the pup while looking for some fruit, berries, and a surprising number of flowers she was able to find. Even a critter or two she could potentially sell at some point that she stumbled upon. Shaking her head to get rid of thoughts that are better off pondering on later, she glances down only for a moment to see if Yuki is still sleeping and watching her twitch, particularly with one of her hind paws did she than she focus on the path she is walking, several splits in the river she is walking near she has seen as a reasonable spot, but didn’t quite feel right yet. Some just felt too open, and wouldn’t make shyer creatures come near the shore, and some where rather low in tide. Low enough to easily walk in, but still too open for her taste. It is only when on both sides of the river that large trees grew, that she felt like she is coming closer to a good spot with Yuki.

“This could be a good spot.” She murmurs while looking at what could probably be classified as a creek. The water is low enough that a common vulticus pup could stand in it, but in Yuki’s case it would be high enough that she would need to swim at some parts of it. Plenty of rocks to jump on are here as well, and the water is calm enough that she wouldn’t be dragged away. Really, it feels perfect for a small creature to be here, and if she goes a little further, she spots a shore where the water is even less deep. Heading towards that spot took only a minute or two. It actually takes longer to get Yuki to wake up in her arms compared to that as the pup makes a jawbreakingly yawn as the little one opens her eyes and looks puzzled from still being up in her arms and the new environment.

“Good to see your awake Yuki, ready for some new exploring?” She says, grinning when Yuki yawns again and uses her paw to rub her head for a moment. Lowering herself at the grassy parts near the creek, she lets Yuki down slowly. Giving her the moment to really wake, and takes off her backpack to rummage through it. It should be righ- Ahh! Here it is! Taking out a small fishing net and plastic box, she sets it aside for a moment to look further into it. Humming to herself she decides to take the radio out as well and turn it on, switching to a few channels till she finds a good song. Standing up and grabbing the radio, she places it on a fallen tree near her, turning the music just a tad louder so that she can hear it in the distance still. Heading back, she sees Yuki paw at her backpack, and she didn’t need to guess three times why that may be as she sniffs at it. *4

“No Yuki! Don’t do that!” She exclaims as she gets closer, it is probably the food that attracts her to it, and she’d rather not have Yuki eat all the treats she hopes could be used to lure some creatures in the water closer to the edge. “Here, I got something better instead.” She murmurs as she rummages through her pockets, fishing out the treats she brought along especially for Yuki. “Now Yuki,” She says while kneeling down right next to the pup, she sees her focus is more on the hand that already holds one of the treats she took out of the sack, as Yuki is licking her chops and moving impatiently with her front paws while sitting down. “don’t rummage through my bag unless I tell you it’s okay to do so, I could have had some pretty delicate things in there.” She enforces her words by also sending it mentally to the pup, the violet ribbon around her neck acting like a perfect collar.

She sees Yuki cocking her head at her, clearly thinking about what she said, but her eyes do keep straying to the treat while she does it. ‘Kay.’ She feels slightly surprised at hearing Yuki agree with her in this way, but she can see with how her eyes narrow when she did, it still takes quite a bit of focus for the pup to even try this. “Alright then, here you go Yuki.” She murmurs, lowering her hand and moving the treat to the middle of her palm. She jolts when she sees Yuki instead of grabbing the treat like any other of her animal companions do, uses her telekinesis to lift it up and float it towards her mouth, snapping it up with a puffed-up chest as she sits, her tail wagging as she chews in contentment and pride at her success. She chuckles at the sight, she should have expected her to try this. Now that Yuki figured out how it works and all. But she hadn’t expected to have her use it so soon for something like this.

Ruffling the top of Yuki’s head and gaining a small growl of protest, she figures it might be best to start with what she actually came out here for. Taking a step towards her bag, she rummages through the compartments for the treat bags, and one containing some kind of pellets meant for fish. Pocketing them, she zips all the compartments closed, picks up the plastic box and small fishnet from the ground right next to it, and heads closer to the water. “That rock should do it perhaps?” She thinks out loud, more for herself, then Yuki. It is large enough that she could sit on it with crossed legs, and flat enough that it might not actually be painful to try. Looking from the rock she wants to be on, and the distance of just one and a half meter she spots some of the rocks that jut out of the water that she could use as well with jumping from one spot to the other. Just threading through the water might startle the fish more than a jumping shadow would.

Reaching the stone she wanted, she bends down to place the plastic box near another flat stone that is close to the one she is on. Standing up, now with only the fishnet in one hand, she looks in the direction of Yuki, seeing her stare right at her with a slight bit of puzzlement as she is near the shore. The pup looks from her, to the water, dipping one paw in it, she whines as she backs off. Retreating and looking with wariness at the water. Chuckling she decides to help the pup out at least a little by using the link of their ribbon of telepathy, she sends the images of how she images Yuki could just hop from one rock to another instead of swimming and scaring away the fishes. But all she gets from it is a tiny sneeze, her eyes still looking with wariness at the water.

Ahh well, Yuki will either learn to love deeper water then her bowl, or hates it. Sitting down slowly, she crosses her legs to sit somewhat more comfortable on the hard surface and fishes out of her pocket the pellets she bought earlier in the week. Screwing open the lid, she purges her lips at seeing it isn’t as much as she hoped for, just enough for one hand to fill and strew the pellets around. Looking at the water, she is at least glad for it being rather calm. There isn’t much current going on right now, so hopefully the pellets will float for a while on the surface and attract some fish. She can only hope that will be the case, and anything that she would be able to catch, she can show to Yuki than as well. Speaking of which. Turning for a second in Yuki’s direction she sees the pup sniffing closer at the water, the uncertainty on what she is supposed to do here is clear to see to anyone.

But she hopes she'll be able to make Yuki less anxious about it in time. Turning around she drops the pellets in the water near her and pocketing the empty jar again, she readies the small fishing net in her arm, ready to strike out. Though she did have to turn her head and check up on Yuki, the pup still looks anxiously at the water as her ears are flattened to the back of her head and her tail curled under her. Unsure what to do exactly. Sighing, she looks back at the pellets and once more send out the image of her just hopping from one rock to the other with some grace. Something seems to move in the water, but she couldn’t tell if it could be something as it nears the pellets. Her arm with the fishing net tenses as she readies herself, but just as she is ready to hopefully strike something, she hears Yuki whine. Making her turn around and see she is getting ready to jump on her first rock, tail swishing gently behind her as her face shows that while still being anxious she is also looking ready to try it. Shoot! She thinks as she turns around to the pellets she had dropped in the water, seeing that in the few seconds of distraction, some critter might have already grabbed some of them to eat. There is still a tiny bit left, but she can’t really say with any certainty that it would still attract some fishes towards it. Should have bought more. She muses while looking at the sad pile still left behind. Yuki Lv 12, Ly 26 Using Pellets *10

It's enough to attract a fish!
