Xentus was already back looking for a fight. Quinn was hastily resuscitated and back to her chipper self not long after the wiurn fell to Mashiik's surprise attack. The wiurn, too, was also revived and presumably caged to await its next fight. The leopard didn't figure he'd be challenging the mighty wiurn any time soon, not without some better planning anyway. Seeing his beloved faeron fall to the beast's wing-whipped winds was heartbreaking. He set his sights on a different foe and registered to combat against Squishy this time. Quinn would be familiar with this one.. She'd battled against it twice before, serving as helpless living bait. This time though, she finally knew how to fight back!
The leopard and his trio of winged beasts arrived to the arena to face the golossle. He'd sent an invitation to an acquaintance to join him, and he awaited almost excitedly for both their arrival and for the fight. Despite the potential for despair when things went awry, the thrill of battle was rather fulfilling.

Fiera had never been to the boss arena in her life. She had participated in tournaments a few times, sure- and she had plenty of trained up pets to show for it. But a team all fighting together against a single, massive creature... that was new to her. She was used to seeing Xentus as her foe, not as an ally, and it would be interesting to see how their pets would work together. Fiera had two creatures with her today- Madison, her candy corn bat, and Victor, her arcane rakai sarane. Madison was, despite her adorable appearance, an old pro at this. She had done quite well for herself in the petite tournament many moons ago, and was surprisingly bloodthirsty for a creature who's diet consisted entirely of candy. Victor on the other hand was untested in tournaments so far, but she had spent so long training him that they were practically of the same mind now... even when he WASN'T wearing his ribbon of telepathy.

It wasn't long before his partner this time around showed up ready for the fight. First met as a foe in battle, now turned ally against a great threat. It somehow made it all the more exciting, knowing his ally had battle history behind them. "It is good seeing you again, Miss Firella, especially on his side of the field", Xentus greeted with a grin, "Xentus is excited for this foray!"
Soon enough, it looked like things were to begin.
"Quinn, Mira, Mashi! Take flight!", he called to his winged pets. The air would give them a distinct advantage against the grounded golossle. And hopefully it would stay occupied with swatting at Quinn while the rest of the creatures beat it down. A mean tactic, but one that Xentus learned worked well.
In near-unison, the man's trio spread their wings and launched themselves into the air.

"it's good to see you... as... well." Fiera said, tensing as their opponent stepped out into the arena. Holy cannoli, that thing was big. Fiera felt the fur of her tail prickle up, but let no hint of emotion show on her face. She didn't need to let her soldi- er, pets see that she was intimidated. She could feel Victor's emotional state through their ribbon of telepathy, and as usual his attitude was steely and cold. It was big, but everything was mortal. It didn't seem aggressive towards him either- a good thing, given that Victor was related to dragons, but apparently not enough for the golossle to catch the connection. All the better for them.
Madison on the other hand was twitch as usual, eager to get started. She was positively miniscule next to this monster, and yet hardly seemed to notice the size difference.
It looked like they had a brief moment of peace as Squishy picked a target, so Fiera decided to make the most of it. "Victor, double up! And Madison, fly!" The pair wasted no time- Madison rocketed up towards the ceiling of the arena with a few flaps, and Victor's scales shimmered in the light before the shimmering "pulled away" from his body, forming a ghostly twin beside him.
(Madison uses Fly on herself, Victor uses Double Image on himself.)

The small one angered him, and Squishy flailed his scythes around again to try and bring them down on the tiny dragon.

The action began with little time for further exchange of words. All the flighted animals were in the air, and the rakai performed a curious feat of duplicating itself. "Now that's impressive", the leopard marveled quietly, eyes lingering on the wolf-dragon for a moment longer. Not too long that he missed the sight of the golossle attempting to split the poor little faeron apart, however. Sqeuinn yelped with a high-pitched squeak at the massive claw striking at her in the air, worrying her keeper for a moment, yet it seemed she fared perfectly fine. The live bait tactic worked just as it did before. With the bug's sights set on the tiny dragon, the creatures were commanded to act.
"Quinn, Mira - Wing!", the man called aloud, excitement in his voice, then he pressed a thought to the alurook, 'Mashi, strike it with lightning. With care, stay in control'. The tiny dragon and four-winged cat unleashed a torrent of winds from their wings, while the alurook seemed in draw in a long breath before opening her beak to launch lightning forward.

And just like that the air was filled with what was practically a cloud of creatures- though the golossle seemed insistent on only attacking a specific one, screeching as it ran around underneath a faeron. That would make this easier. Fiera called out onto the arena. "Madison, wing buff!" She said, and the bat immediately started flapping her wings, whipping up a gale force that Fiera could feel from the edge of the arena. "And Victor- both of you- dizzy!" She finished, giving the command for one of Victor's psychic powers. She didn't want him touching Squishy physically- not with those massive spikes coming from its hide. It was best for Victor to keep his distance for now, though his double image would certainly help with drawing away the beast's aggression. Fiera wasn't sure how long it would take to take this creature down, but she didn't want to take any risks this early in the match.
