Normally these trips into the city to visit the trader weren't the worst things Briar had to do. No, actually, by that measurement, they still weren't. But this month was harder. At least he knew why; he'd been sent to the altar not that long ago. The healing berries helped, but not enough. There was, he supposed, good reason that Noa didn't force him there more than once a year.
It hadn't been this bad before, had it...? Maybe he didn't remember well. Exhaustion and an unshakeable dizziness had dogged him for days, and today was no different. He dismounted from the Galabex with a barely stifled groan, and walked slowly into the establishment.
His offering this time was two small seashells. -For a magic crystal,- he signed. Before the last trip, he would have thought that it was always the same, but now he was just glad not to have to take a creature back with him.

The Trader looked for a moment before giving a slight nod and switching things around. The trade was complete, and the Trader was happy with the shells.
