The horde of Pachee within their kennel was almost exponentially growing. It concerned Zenjesi slightly, but the little creatures were endearing and the breeding process seemed to be harmless for them, so... was there any real issue with continuing? Well, there was one issue, and he was in a carrier beside Zenjesi's legs. Foxtail was their newest addition and first male. He was something of a wild variety of Pachee, so perhaps his behavioral differences could be attributed to that fact. They just had to hope those traits were not genetic. That and also that he could behave himself around another of his species, or this may be their last visit here.
"You should be pleased," Zenjesi whispered to the carrier, which simply rattled and shifted in response. They were waiting outside the breeding center, but near the entrance this time. It seemed they grew slightly bolder with each successful social encounter. But... they still could not convince themselves to wait inside.

Fiera adjusted Birdwatcher's carrier under one arm as the pachee moved herself to the other end of it again. The humanish couldn't tell if she was excited or nervous- there wasn't much room in the carrier for her to express either. Fiera couldn't tell which one she was either. The breeding she had arranged today was with someone she had never met before. She was always happy to get fresh bloodlines into her pachee of course, but new people were always a roulette as to whether or not they were a good business associate (such as Jack) or the most annoying people she had ever met (such as Silver). What side of the line this "Zenjesi" person would fall on remained to be seen. Luckily, Fiera considered herself an excellent judge of character... with emphasis on the "judge". As she approached the breeding center, she saw a figure standing in front of it, also with a pachee carrier. That was probably them. She raised a hand briefly in greeting, or perhaps just to get their attention.

Foxtail was still not pleased. Zenjesi absently ran a thumb over the scratches on the back of their hand. Did Pachee normally have claws? They did not believe they were meant to. These, at least, had not been formidable enough for concern, but enough to express Foxtail's clear opinion on the carrier. For once, that meant Zenjesi was not overly distracted by their Pachee companion while they waited. Instead, they actually caught a glimpse of the newcomer approaching with her own carrier and -- oh a wave! Zenjesi hesitated for a moment too long before remembering to raise a hand in response. Then they looked over their shoulder. Perhaps she had been flagging down someone else. But no, there was no one there but them. Yet the newcomer's carrier made the situation difficult, as it obscured their view of the Pachee they were meant to be meeting. Best to check! Zenjesi cocked their head, bent down on their deer-like legs, and craned themselves forward a bit to peer in as they approached. Yes, the wings were immediately visible; the pattern was unmistakable! But Zenjesi's movement was a slightly unsettling thing to do, and they remained in that position as they whispered their confirmation to the woman who was just arriving: "I am your partner." Then they straightened up (as much as they ever did), with a small, satisfied smile.

As Fiera approached, she noticed a few things in turn- the milky, pale eyes. Was this person blind? But... no, they had already waved to each other without any words exchanged, so clearly they had some vision. Horns, deer legs- that was pretty par the course around here, Fiera had seen plenty of humanish or mammalian with deer parts. Heck, she had a (beautiful, silky, swishing) cat tail and ears, so she wasn't about to throw stones in glass houses there. And yet something about them was... weird. The movements, the quiet voice, the sort of... awkwardness. Fiera flicked an ear- what, was this person born in a cave? "Good to know." She said briefly, still eyeing them warily. She jerked her head toward the breeding center. "Have you been here before? Know how this works already? I made the appointment in advance, so all we have to do is check in."

"I am Zenje--" They remembered to introduce themselves now that they were in person, but evidently they had already missed their opportunity; their whispering words were completely drowned out by the woman's questioning. The satyr would not describe themselves as cultured by any use of the word, but she certainly seemed to be. Her hair, clothing, even her nails grasping the carrier. She had not even taken the time for a greeting... Realization dawned on Zenjesi. She must have expected them to already know who she was by name. She must Be Someone. They licked their lips, their nerves suddenly growing. Did they recognize her? They did not know hardly anyone. And then they realized they were standing in silence. Oh. She had asked questions.
"Ah, I..." What had she asked? "Yes. That is good," they agreed blindly, picking up Foxtail's carrier and scurrying over towards the entrance, hooves tap-tap-tapping on the concrete. The last thing they wanted to do was offend someone of status and have themselves removed from the City. What had their mother taught them about manners? They pulled the door and held it open for her, bowing their head and whispering, "I will go after you." That was polite, right?

Fiera watched as the little creature practically withered under her gaze. An uncomfortably long silence stretched for a moment before the hamster in their head decided to go for a run on the ol' wheel again. Fiera watched as Zenjesi practically fell over themself to open the door for her. The corner of Fiera's mouth quirked up. Finally, someone around here who knew how to show respect to a lady. "Why thank you, dear!" She said, placing a hand on her chest gratefully and stepping through the door into the warmth of the breeding center. She left Zenjesi to collect themself while she stepped up to the front desk. "Hello there. I'm here to check in for a pachee breeding- should be under 'Zenjesi' and 'Fiera'- yes, thank you." She said, tapping the paperwork to straighten it out before she filled out and signed off on her portion of it.

They felt a wave of relief as they were thanked by the woman, nodding their head in acknowledgement. The gesture was accepted. It was just as well that they were given the moment to follow. Foxtail, still unhappy about being contained, suddenly moved within the carrier and threw it off balance. This meant Zenjesi bumped the carrier off of the door, which knocked the door out of their grasp, which left them gently squished between the carrier and the door and the door frame for an awkward moment. At least nobody was paying any mind to them while they extracted themselves.
Zenjesi arrived at the counter just as the pages were being passed over. Ms. Ferella already had everything handled. There was something reassuring about that. Quickly, they scrawled out a signature of their own, looking over to her and allowing her to lead. Now what could they say that would not imply they did not know who she was? "You... have many Pachee?"

Fiera had definitely not noticed as Zenjesi got themself squished with a door, and probably wouldn't have moved to help if she had. They could solve their own problems. Fiera led Zenjesi toawrds the door to the breeding rooms after they signed off, having gotten their room number. As they walked, Fiera glanced down through the door of Zenjesi's carrier, looking at the fine male pachee held within. Her own pachee wasn't being nearly as fussy, but she liked this fellow's energy. "Oh yes, I have quite the collection by now." She responded. While she spoke, Fiera dug around in her own purse for the breeding berries she needed, slipping them into her pocket before standing in front of the door to their breeding room. "Anyone can have something like that, though. All it takes is a little elbow grease." She said with a shrug, not asking but simply waiting to see if Zenjesi would open this door as well.

Quite naturally, the satyr fell into Fiera's shadow, trailing close behind her. In fact, they were walking a little too close for normal comfort. On one hand, they were not good with boundaries. On the other, if they were much farther away, it would be quite unlikely for her to be able to hear anything they whispered. They listened attentively as she dismissed the accomplishment. Well, there was something to that; they had not been in the business very long, and already their numbers had grown quickly. "But she is special," Zenjesi argued lightly, pointing to the winged female.
They were watching Ms. Ferella prepare the berries when they noticed another lull and -- Oh! Indeed they did move to open this door for her. "Forgive my distraction," they mumbled with another bow of their head. Already, their time here was over and they doubted they had left her with an excellent opinion of them. How could they demonstrate that they were a valuable member of this society? Ah, perhaps with their budding career! "I am a Camp Instructor," Zenjesi assured her with a smile.

Fiera glanced down at Birdwatcher after she fed her the berries. The pachee munched happily as Fiera stepped into the breeding room. "Mm, perhaps. But she's special BECAUSE of the work I put in to make her." She said, setting the carrier down inside and opening it so she could step out, stretching her strange, eyed wings luxuriantly. This Zenjesi person was a strange fellow- perhaps not entirely aware of how to hold a conversation, but polite enough and knew how to treat a lady. Fiera was able to chit chat about work easily, and perhaps she COULD have done something nice for Zenjesi... if the satyr had ever asked. Fiera could be charitable, but unfortunately one had to have the stones to ask in the first place. The here and now was more important though, and focusing on the pachee breeding and its progress kept her occupied in pleasant small talk.
