(Nyssa make sound?), the question rang in his mind, hollow yet melodic. A fair question given what little experience the golem had with the living trees.
‘Of course, though not anything voiced. Much like you, dear Astraea, the humble nyssa is mute’, the leopard quickly informed his companion as they traversed the dense overgrowth, ‘Their sound is from their bodies. Leaves rustling, bark groaning, feet dragging, and the like’
The glass golem clattered her quartered head-shell in response. Much like herself, huh. Which meant, unless it wanted to be heard, the nyssa would be silent. With the addition of being nearly indistinguishable from other trees in a dense forest unless it moved, it was beginning to feel like this task was going to be impossible. Not to mention how tough a full grown nyssa was. Felling one down was equal to slaying a wiurn, if not harder. Between the leopard and the golem, they had little in the way of offense or defense against a massive mobile tree.
Quest #06
A rather elderly looking individual is sitting near the board when you walk up. Using her cane, she is able to stand up surprisingly quickly.
"Hey, yoo there dearie!" On closer look, she is a grizzled old panite with short goat ears and a very goatlike nose. Her ears are long, almost falling to her waist in fluffy white curls. Her eyes are milky white; had she heard you coming?
"Willing to give a kooky ol’ lady a hand? I'm in need of a seasoned quester to help me out. You ARE a seasoned quester, right-o dearie?" She is turned toward you directly now, leaning crookedly over her cane. Her left hoof is held up off of the ground carefully.
"I love to grow bonsai trees around crystals in my garden, but it is surrounded by a big abandoned garden from some other folks that lived here a long time ago." She seemed a bit sad at this; did all of her neighbors move away?
"The other day, one of my most precious crystal clusters was filched by the grandparent of all Nyssa. Huge bugger; I could hear it from a mile away." She rambles for a moment, before she seems to remember you were there.
"Could you go looking for it and get my crystal cluster back? It must have gone somewhere into that dangerous abandoned garden then went to sleep. I can't hear it no more." She grins toothily at you. "I'll be sure to make it worth your while, dearie!"
The Quest
Search through the huge, twisted lot of abandoned gardens and locate this very old Nyssa. Once you do, you will need to somehow convince, persuade, or force it to give you the crystal cluster it stole.
Post Requirement: 10
Prizes
First Completion: 2 QP and a bonsai
2+ Completions: another bonsai
