There was a metaphor in the common tongue, something about an unstoppable force and an immovable object...
Laputa continued to bear down on the light golem with all of her strength. A crack could be seen in the shell, but it wasn't enough for her to get through. Yet. Nina was confident that if she continued to power through, she would be able to get into the core.
Another blade of light chipped away at her crystals, spraying a glitter-like chunk of fine crystal onto the floor of the pit. Both of them were giving it their all, smashing away at each other and only getting tiny cracks in return. Who would fold first? Nina honestly didn't know.

Sha's blade of light was not incredibly strong like the beam he summoned at the beginning of the fight, but it did appear to be doing something. Small chunks of the golem flew off after each strike. It was not much, but it was something. Even the mightiest titan will fall after enough little cuts. So long as Sha could get enough of them in before his own shell gave way.
"One more, Sha!" I instructed. We were far from one more cut away, but I did not have the heart to break it to him. As long as his shell held up, he could keep giving it one more all day. I had to give him credit for that.
