Well thats an image of a dog with horns if he's seen one, examining the sheet as the gates open beneath him to let Kitri into the pit below. Or is it a fox. Its a bit difficult ot tell as he's less on the artistic side then the scholarly side for what he does know. Just who or what is a Mango. Besides something you can eat, he's heard of that one.
The floor beneath her paws is gritty. Kitri can feel the grit get between her toes, kicking backwards to attempt to dislodge a rock with a huff of annoyance. Not painful, annoying.

A Mango was, as it stood, a beat that was very antsy for the fight to get started. He danced around on his hooves as Fiera guided him out onto the sand. "Come on, calm down." She said, petting his neck as she left him in the arena. This was going to be a very interesting fight for her. All of the other battles were between Mango and a creature from the Magical Menagerie Labs. This would be the only fight in the tournament- as far as she could tell- that was between two WELP creatures. She very much wanted to see how they'd measure up.

Turns out that deer creature is what Mango turns out to be, its a name. He should've thought of that. But something about those orbs embedded into that heavy looking rack sprouting from its head, the deer creature really does have a lithe foxlike face if he's looking enough.
Kitri's howl rings in his ears as she shows herself loud and proud. More of a greeting then anything else. Until the deer starts screaming at her. What the seven hells... Whomever trained this creature did some work on making them not flip out at the sight of a giant bipedal canine.
Kitri is NOT scared, thank you very much. But she does pause; because nothing screams before she touches them. And...she didn't.

Fiera had to clamp her hands over her ears as both of the creatures on the field let out deafening noises, seemingly screaming as loud as they could in an attempt to intimidate each other. She couldn't say how well it worked, as she wouldn't be able to hear herself over her ears ringing. Luckily, even if this worginu did manage to get a hit in on him, Mango might be ok- after all, he was resistant to acid damage, and big bad worginu were quite well known for that. For now though, she was just going to stick to the plan.

That is a very loud creature; and Kitri's pause is enough for the big horny thing to get in close and brush against her. Like a greeting perhaps? Her ears are ringing from the other creature's scream until its been past. Shaking herself, she barks a greeting back, wiggling in delight. Hello pointy friend! Your pointies are REALLY BIG. She has seen pointy creatures before; cat friend has a big...friend who has horns. They are long instead of tall, going across her head but it still hurts to get swatted by her if she charged at you and grazed you. With a face like that, she'd hardly believe it could hurt. Looked like food but cat friend says it isn't food. Is pointy friend liking food?

Mango seemed admittedly thrown by the worginu's outright affectionate and playful demeanor, but Fiera's barked commands kept him on track. He rushed towards Kitriko, just barely grazing her with his antlers. With any luck, the venom would be sinking in now, making Mango's opponent more susceptible to further venoms. Fiera thought 'with any luck' as she knew that big bad worginu had a large affinity to acid and venom anyway- hopefully it wouldn't grant her any resistance to Mango's own powers. Still, Fiera got ready for the next move she might pull out, and gave another command for Mango to follow.

Skylos watches the deer creature, who is NOT a galabex, they don't have strange ...growths on their horns, and don't have long flowing tails. What were these, did they come from a similar place like Kitri's species does? He'll look them up after the match is over. The animal has a very trained look, for what could be considered prey for a worginu otherwise. Across the pit, he sees a figure giving commands like a seasoned professional. This wasn't a game for taking a pet out for getting some exercise...now was it.
Kitri bounds forward. Chaseing time? SHe liked chasing time.

It was most definitely not taking a pet out for exercise. If there was one thing Fiera craved above all else, it was winning. And recognition. And fame. And perhaps money, if it was around. But overall she had trained Mango as well as she possibly could have, and now he was making good use of it. "Mango, speed up!" She said, and sure enough he got even faster, his natural agility taking over as he deftly bounced over the various obstacles of the arena. It would be even harder for his opponent to hit him now- while leaving him perfectly positioned to strike.

Skylos brings one paw to his chin, thinking. oooh, he might be in over his head here. This deer with a very angry approach isn't here to play. He knows it, Kitri doesn't.
"Kitri. Get serious about this." he speaks finally. "Playtime is over." If he wants to be respected, his animals need to be respecting him as well.
Cat friend do what? She turns her head to look at her monochrome companion; he looks mad. His ears are down and back. Like angry. Angry why? She has been having fun with chasey time. Looking back... there's a spark in her eye. Lets see how fast speedy friend is.

Fiera instantly noticed her opponent's change in atmosphere. Perhaps they had finally decided to stop playing around... but it was too little, too late. Mango was already in the flow of things now, and had a good idea of how his opponent moved and operated. It would take a lot to take him off guard now. "Mango, Ether!" Fiera called, and Mango dashed away from his opponent to get a safe opportunity to pause for a moment, the baubles on his horns glowing a soft green color. Fiera could feel something in the air for a moment, like strings being pulled taught. It was an otherworldly, almost indescribable sensation.
