> Xentus, alone.
It'd been a while since he'd last frequented the trader's shop. He'd just missed something he'd been after last month too, so he made sure to get in before the wares rotated. The leopard's eyes carefully perused the goods up for trade and mental notes were made regarding things of interest. Magic crystals were always a hot item, as were the creatures. It didn't take long for Xentus to decide what he wanted, but he'd need to make a bit of a roundabout trade to get everything. Hopefully the trader wouldn't mind.
"Xentus would like to exchange these for a few of those little water horses", the mammalian began to explain while displaying goods of his own, "Then, the rest of these for ah... Well, a couple things, if it's no problem"
He listed out what made his eyes sparkle, and hoped the trader would find this arrangement agreeable.
Trading for 3 hippocampy (120) (120 total)
Trading for Hummingfly Pachee (200), Wind Crystal (50) (20 + 4 bonus = 24) (45) (40) (140) (249 total)

The Trader watched quietly as Xentus explored all of the trades on display. Eventually he settled on what he wanted and made an offer. The Trader spent a long time looking over the items he placed down.
The complete silence was a bit unsettling. Eventually he shook his head. "Flowers. Fruits." He said clearly in a low voice. He tapped the hippocampy tank for emphasis. The trinkets from the mansion were nice, but not what he was looking for at that time.

It wasn't often that a trade offer was rejected. The leopard tilted his head slightly, frowning when the trader spoke. Flowers and fruit? His eyes looked over the hippocampi tank as the glass was tapped. "Ah, apologies", Xentus hastily responded, realizing the mismatch between offer and want, "Then... Perhaps these will make a fine addition? For those ah... Slugs instead" A few more mansion trinkets were procured from the depths of the man's pockets, and intent shifted to the nudibranch tank. They weren't nearly as pretty as the hippocampi, but they'd have to do. He wasn't looking to return home and gather up whatever meager harvest he had left. Convincing the trader that they indeed wanted mansion trinkets was the better option. Why, who could pass up on such wonderful things after all! They were almost worthy of being hoarded away in his personal collection, but they'd certainly do far better in the hands of an esteemed collector.
Appending first trade, for 6 Nudibranch instead (150)

Exactly what the Trader wanted and why was always a mystery. Would he accept the same items in exchange for a different lot of little creatures? Apparently so. Perhaps he just liked to keep people guessing.
He nodded and plucked the odd sea creatures out of their tank. He placed them in a travel sized contained and rested a wind crystal next to it. Then he handed over the leash for the Pachee. What a fruitful trade indeed.
