The shop sure knew how to make a statement, Nerius didn't often visit, but the Underground was still one of the most memorable shops in the city. The sheer amount of bling would do that. But as stunning as the decor was, Nerius was here for a specific purpose, and headed for the counter. "I'm looking to trade for a tainted crystal," he didn't know the shopkeeper well enough to engage in familiar, friendly chatter, so he simply got to the point. And as that point involved trade rather than a simple credit transaction, Nerius carefully set a selection of stones on the counter, asking, "How much are these worth?"
In theory, they were enough. He knew enough about geology to have a general sense of the stone's value, but he wasn't a jeweler, and didn't have an eye to pick out any subtle flaws that would reduce the value. And if they weren't, he'd brought extra as a backup.

Kor was always pleased to see a customer with good quality stones for him. He inspected the ones Nerius had to offer with various 'ooh' and 'aah' sounds. It was a really great lot, and he could offer up to 191 credits for it. He said he wanted a crystal, so Kor did the calculation in his head.
"For these stones," he waved his hands over them. "I can give ya the crystal and something else, maybe about 41 credits worth. Anything else ya want?"

Okay, maybe he didn't have much of a general sense of the stones' value, because Nerius was not expecting them to be worth that much. Though, judging by the reaction, the value might have been specific to these particular gems. Nerius considered what to do with the extra; the only thing he'd specifically set out for was the tainted crystal. He already had a full set of tools, and had no use for ingots of metal. He wasn't a smith, and from what he'd heard, the city's main workshop had long since shut down. The mind crystals though, he had an oval already, but they weren't the easiest thing to come by in the mines, and a second wouldn't go to waste. They were a little more than what his stones were worth, but he had brought extra, and Nerius set a purple stone on the counter. "Would this bring the total up to add a sphere mind crystal?" Kor was happy to add the charolite to the pile. Based on the size, color, consistency... "I'd say this is about a 12 credit gem, which brings you up to a tainted crystal, a mind crystal, and 3 extra credits. Sound good?"

The charolite wasn't nearly as valuable as the other stones it seemed, but it was enough to bring the total up to trade for his requested crystals. He'd only needed a few credits more value, and it would have been overkill to offer up a diamond.
"That is acceptable," the trade was quite close in value, and while getting something exact was possible, it was unlikely. A few credit mismatch was expected, and came with the territory of trading for goods. Besides, he was getting far more than expected, as the first batch had been worth more than anticipated. It was a shame he could get only the one tainted, but with how rare they were, Nerius wasn't surprised there was a limited stock. This one would bring his crystal total up to eight; he could check the trader's but his best bet for the final tainted crystal would be a trip to the mines.

"Alright then, pleasure doing business with ya," Kor said, placing the crystal and a couple of coins on the counter for Nerius to take.
