Hope & Glowfly

So this would be interesting, she figured with a little wince on her face as she walked to the Breeding Center. Hope and Glowfly, two of her absolute favorite Pachee. Unfortunately they were related, as were all Pachee with butterfly wings. Even more unfortunately, they were mother and son, but she didn't think that was going to affect the kits any, at least it hadn't in the past, but she had never bred them this closely before. Still, it made her feel odd and she wasn't sure she wanted to go through with it. They would make some amazing kits though, that much was certain, but she hoped nothing would be wrong with them. The two Pachee trotted at her feet on all fours, their wings fluttering as the breeze hit them, and she smiled a little bit as they looked around hopefully. Of course Glowfly knew where they were headed, but there was no confusion as to why she was going there with Hope. The little male didn't seem too disturbed either, and honestly it wasn't the first time she had inbred like this, but it was the first time she would have to supervise one. The Salaves had been born blind in one eye, so... there was that at least.

Still, the thought of overseeing this breeding make her skin crawl a little, they might not know it was wrong, but she would in a way. It was an experiment with genetics, however, and at least they weren't siblings? She didn't know if that would have made it better or worse, there was no real way to tell at this point. Jack sighed a little, she didn't know what to think about things, so it was best to just ignore it and go about her business, she figured with a frown on her face. She didn't know what to expect out of them, the kits could come out wrong, or there could be nothing wrong with them at all. That would be nice, of course, but she wasn't sure what else to do at the moment. The Breeding Center loomed in the distance, as soon as they got inside, there was no turning back. Of course she could, but that was her thought at the moment, if she went inside she wasn't going to waste everyone's time and leave again. She sighed a little and shook her head, maybe she was doing something bad, she really had no idea at this point.

She thought the two little Pachee were just excited to be together again, she always kept the males and females separated, she didn't want to have any unlawful breeding taking place and all that, so she was careful when it came to housing. She even housed them in different places, letting one gender out when the other was inside and the other way around. She sighed a little and shook her head, she didn't know what to do about all of this, but that was going to work out fine she figured with a little smile on her face. They would breed, her question would be answered, and all would be well after all was said and done. Jack pushed her hair back as they reached the door to the Breeding Center and she took a deep breath, what was she going to do about everything? They would remember who belonged to who, they kept records, but what else was she going to say to the person at the counter? It's not like she could say she was experimenting with life and all that, even though she kind of was at this point. Jack frowned, maybe it wasn't too late to turn back.

As she stood in front of the door, staring inside, she listened to the two little Pachee scamper around her feet playing. It was too late, she figured when she looked down, she had already gotten some pollen, she didn't have a choice now, she needed to make sure it was as sterile as possible at this point. Jack sighed again and rubbed her face, the two Pachee pulling on the leashes as she did so. She didn't know what to do, she felt bad, but at the same time they would make some lovely kits. Oh well, it's not like she had anything better to do at this point, she figured, and then she pushed the door open and walked in, Glowfly and Hope walking behind her. All she could do was hope that things would go well and nothing went wrong, but she wasn't sure she was confident enough in that at the moment. It was fine, she figured it would be alright, and she sighed a little as she signed herself and her Pachee in, trying to ignore the look the attendant was giving her at the moment. They really didn't judge all that much, but this was a different situation entirely.

As they sat in the waiting room to wait for a room to be in for the breeding, Jack looked over the two Pachee she had brought with her. Hope was a gorgeous boy, a white body with black tail, ears, and butterfly wings. He had the normal Pachee markings, but in quite the light green, even lighter than his mother's. On his back was almost a pearly soft golden brown that shimmered in the light. She had been so happy when he had been born, she really needed to do more with him at this point, she just didn't know what to do with him though. That was the issue, what to do with Pachee and Orbaru, even Lotine were hard to figure out at this point. Oh well, it was all alright, it would all work out she figured with a little smile on her face. She just hoped she hadn't doomed these kits to failure before they were even born. What if they weren't born with wings? That would almost be the worst, she figured with a little sigh as she patted Hope on the head when he popped up, front paws on her knee. She loved the species, she just hoped she wasn't doing them wrong.

Jack kept petting the little male while the female went exploring as far as the leash would let her. She smiled a little bit, she had been proud of Glowfly too. Black, with light green Pachee markings, a white patch on her back, and green and black wings, she was gorgeous. Honestly she wasn't surprised she gave good kits, as evident by Hope here. Jack just hoped the trend would continue with these two, and she had the berries to make sure they would mix a bit as time went on. Jack chuckled a little bit and shook her head, unsure of what to do about things at the moment, it wasn't like she could just let them breed outside of the room, but even then she was taking in pollen like there was no tomorrow. There was no way to stop it though, Pachee were prolific breeders, and she had to be careful or else bad things might happen when it all came down to it. That was the reason she kept them separated, she didn't want a bunch of new Pachee every time she turned around and all that. Plus it was bad for business for the Breeding Center.

They all sat there for awhile longer, all three of them, and Jack was starting to nod off a little. It was boring just waiting, though the Pachee made sure to keep her awake from time to time, pawing at her and nudging her with their heads. Sometimes they would turn around and flutter their wings at her, making sure to see if the breeze would help keep her awake. It worked at least, and the woman chuckled a little and rubbed their heads in thanks. It just wasn't exciting to wait for something, even if it was for the breeding. Jack sighed a little and folded her arms in front of her, a little glad she hadn't taught either of them to fly, because that's all she needed, for the two of them to be flying around and dropping pollen and gods knew what else down upon her as they reached for the sky. Smiling a little after that, she hoped at some point she would teach at least one of her Pachee to fly, that would be nice of her, she supposed. Jack shrugged a little, the only issue was finding which one to teach, she had so many of them.

Jack glanced in the little pouch at her hip, the three sets of berries were in there, which was going to help the outcome of the breeding no matter what. One would help Hope's coloring pass on, one would guarantee a female, and one would guarantee two babies instead of one. Maybe she should have just brought the male and female berries, but where was the fun in that? She realized she got better results with all three than just with one or two of them, unless that's what she was going for no matter what. Jack pushed her hair back and settled into the chair, and just at that moment they were called back to the room she had been in both other times for this month, making her smile a little. Maybe they had reserved it for her, it only made sense after awhile, she was a pretty prolific breeder after all. Hope and Glowfly were both excited to be off the leashes once the door closed behind them, and Jack settled into one of the more comfortable chairs in the room. It wasn't like her leg hurt anymore, but her hip ached from time to time from where it had regrown the leg. Eventually it would go away, but until then, might as well be comfortable.

As the two played together and Hope coated Glowfly in pollen, she once again hoped she wasn't dooming the kits to something terrible. It would work out though, she knew it would, it took awhile for inbreeding to make something bad anyway, or at least she hoped that was true. She dug out the three groups of berries and tossed them toward the pair, smiling when they wiggled and then pounced. Hope went for the little red berry, as he should, and Glowfly went for the cluster of pink berries, as she should. They would both probably go for the blue one, which was fine by her, that's what needed to happen. They grabbed the berries and let the tendrils from their paws suck the nutrients from the berries until they were both dry, and the woman wished she could figure out why they did than instead of being born with mouths. Oh well, it all worked out and they got what they needed, though it made it expensive to keep them, she knew. Of course she knew, she had more of them than anyone else, and she hoped that things would work out after awhile no matter what. Jack smiled a little, this would be good.

Things had almost concluded, and she was sure things would be fine no matter what. Jack smiled a little as they both absorbed nutrients from the blue berry and then ran off again to play. It was nice seeing them together, tumbling along and making happy wiggles and faces. They couldn't make any noise, of course, considering their lack of mouths, but that was alright, she could tell they were happy, and if she fell asleep waiting for the kits to arrive, one would probably paw her awake on her arm or leg. Jack pushed her hair back and settled back into the chair, wondering what she was going to do with everything. It wasn't like she didn't have enough Pachee, but that was kind of like saying you could have more than enough Orbaru, you couldn't have enough of both after all. Jack chuckled at herself and then closed her eyes as they played, wondering what the kits were going to look like. She was tired, it didn't make sense, and there wasn't anything she could do about it. Nothing would happen, everything would be fine, she hopefully wouldn't have any nightmares if she fell asleep, and everything would be just perfectly fine.
