No, out of all of the creatures that Morgan had seen and knew about in the encyclopedia that their father had kept, the Neptica were the ones that were technically based off of dolphin-like creatures. They supposedly lived in the ocean at the edges of the Pethian continent, but Neptica were supposedly outperforming them like all other Labs creatures. It was almost hard to believe that these creatures were made the way that they were. Morgan was sure that they would learn more if they managed to enact their plan the rest of the way, but Morgan was unsure if they would like what they found out. It was a sort of scary prospect, even though Morgan was having a hard time pinpointing exactly what it was. A sense of dread intensified as they made their way really close to the tidepool, almost right up on it. What would be within it? Morgan wasn't looking at it as hard now, but Domino sure was.

Morgan looked at Domino and they both met eyes for a moment, an understanding passing from Morgan's anxious expression to the somewhat human-like eyes of the seryn. Morgan nodded, then, unsure of what they meant other than an acknowledgement that it was fine to look into the tidepool, since Domino was not afraid of it. "Alrighty Domino, I'll look in the tide pool." Morgan said, quietly. They turned back, and breathed out before opening their eyes. Yes, there were lots of things in the tidepool. Two tiny swimming creatures were within the tidepool; both of them appeared to be cartilaginous animals, so some sort of ray perhaps? Or shark? Morgan had only seen pictures in books, so they were guessing at them. They were appearing to chase each other around, surprisingly enough. Morgan was pleased with the find; they could bend down and watch them. "Well lookit here, Domino. Two critters." Really small ones, oh well.

Morgan did rather enjoy finding small creatures such as this; perhaps only if because they could do some studying about creatures such as this if they caught them. Trying to find something to catch them in, Morgan was able to find a small bucket on the side of the cart, or rather, slotted into one of the carrying spots on the side of the travel tank that Morgan had been working on exactly for this. Morgan grabbed this bucket and quickly made to try to capture the two creatures, with little luck. They were so speedy, and Morgan had great reflexes, but didn't really want to get wet in the process. It made the movements that Morgan had to make a little more muffled, to where they wouldn't quite be able to move quite as fast as they normally would. After a bit of work, they finally scooped up one of the creatures, much to Domino's glee.

At least the creatures were trapped in the tide pool since it was perpetually low tide here, so Morgan wasn't too worried about the entire thing. Morgan would have time to capture the other one. They immediately grabbed some water and filled up the side container, and then put the creature in the bucket in this side container. With that done, Morgan breathed out a bit and then immediately took a second to get a better stance and position finagled so that they could manage to capture the other tiny creature so that they could study them at home. This time, it didn't take Morgan nearly as long to manage to capture the creature, perhaps because it was wondering where the other creature it had been chasing went. Morgan immediately did the same action and placed this one in the other side pocket, keeping them separate to keep them from eating each other. Domino stared down at them excitedly.

Morgan took a moment to watch the tiny creatures, and then looked up at Domino. She was looking down at both of the creatures, switching from looking at one of them to the other one of them. "Well Domino, at least you like looking at stuff too." Morgan said, nonchalantly. A regular little mini-fish scientist, huh? Morgan chuckled at that idea, it was quite funny to them, thinking of a little seryn wearing black lab gloves and wearing a little white lab coat all wet and floating in the water. The mental image made it much worse, pushing them to practically cackling until they couldn't breathe any more. "Goodness, Domino." Morgan finally said, catching their breath. They turned around for a moment, and then looked down into the tide pool again. What else was in there? Morgan wondered, curiously. They looked quite carefully down into the tide pool.

There was only so much that Morgan could really do while here today, especially with what was going on. All of the hairs on Morgan's neck raised up yet again, however they were not going to bolt, NOT going to bolt. Morgan put their hand on the back of their neck and then rubbed gently, trying to get the hairs to lay back down. "Well Domino, I figure that uh, we may not be able to stay the night like I was hoping, huh?" Morgan was not sure why, but the sense of foreboding was getting more and more strong. The human glanced down into the tidepool, trying to find something else to focus on, when they found a couple of fans of coral. Ah, so those were the fans that they had seen earlier. One was in blue, and the other in green from the looks of it. How odd!

The fight or flight instinct was certainly starting to rise like bile, and Morgan wasn't really sure what to do about it. They wanted to look at all of the coral fans and other cool stuff, and to find that crystal, but Morgan was quite afraid of the... Whatever it was that was causing this horrible feeling. They certainly felt super nervous and all. Still, Morgan bent down at the edge of the tide pool to look at the coral fans. They were quite neat; perhaps Morgan would take a couple of samples and bring them on home? That was the idea, anyway. Morgan leaned forward a bit, and suddenly felt really, really anxious. Finally breaking through it, Morgan turned around a little too quickly, and nearly fell into the tide pool. They could have sworn something had been breathing on their neck! "Domino, did you see anyone behind me?" Morgan said, laughing, knowing that she wouldn't be able to tell them anything.

Morgan still felt a bit silly for asking Domino, because of course Domino couldn't understand or anything, but Morgan noticed something right in that moment. Domino was looking behind Morgan intently, and seemed nervous. Oh. Oh-ho, yeah, Morgan knew what that meant. They turned around, hand on the fireworks-shooter at their waist, eyes buzzing bright green. The shooter was held about chest-height in both hands, one hand around the other; directly at something absolutely horrifying; a huge monstrous sand-castle, made up of black sand. "Wh-what is that?!" Morgan choked out, backing up against the red cart, noting that they may actually have to shoot their way out of this issue. Morgan had managed to grab only a little bit of a sample of each before this happened, and they had just hardly been able to drop them into their collection bucket. The sandcastle was slowly 'falling' forward, gaping mouth coming close.

Morgan fired off a quick shot at the sandcastle, straight into that huge mouth, and then cursed before pushing back, grabbing the handle of the red wagon and then firing another shot into the mouth of the sandcastle again, forcing it back as they began moving away at the quickest speed possible, along the rocky road. The fireworks shooter was already super hot, way too hot to keep working with like this. Morgan quickly holstered it, pleased for just the second that the sandcastle had stopped moving quite so fast and slowly fell into the dust again as they grabbed the handle with both hands and began moving away. Domino looked terrified, and Morgan was definitely not going to stay anywhere near that thing. They doubted that it was indeed dead, because that made no sense. Nope, nope, nope. Morgan got away from it rather quickly, their loot and Domino in tow.

Morgan felt incredibly lucky to have gotten away, but didn't take this for granted. They didn't stop until it was time to walk up the sandy dunes to the top of the area where they would be able to ascend the first hillock and go to where the gate was in the mansion yard. Morgan had really wanted to see the mansion turn over during the month, but they weren't about to be eaten by a sandcastle, of all things! It was a mess, just thinking of it. Morgan hadn't noticed how tired they had been and how badly their arms hurt from dragging the heavy cart until they got to the top of the first hillock, and they only just then felt okay with stopping for a moment to rest. They glanced around for anything that could be found on the way out of the gate, and then took Domino back home, feeling safe only when they exited the gate.

More benign than the innards of the mansion, a tiny ship heralding a cone shell for a captain rested on that last hillock before the pair left entirely.

The air was especially crisp today, it would seem. Morgan had worked with both Shigeru and Ryuusei separately today, and it was getting later on into the evening now. Morgan wanted to spend some time with Seimei, who was especially cranky as of late. He wanted to be taught to tinker; like Morgan could do, and had been pestering Morgan about it all day. After a while, Morgan finally caved in, telling him that whenever he learned to read finally, he would be allowed to read all of Morgan's resources on tinkering, and then Morgan would teach him eventually. Seimei was pleased with this, holding Morgan to that, when Morgan suggested that they go to the mansion and do some further talking for a while. Seimei had agreed, and soared high above Morgan's head. He loved to fly now, and who was Morgan to tell him no? They came upon the outskirts of the mansion grounds quickly enough.

Morgan was incredibly thankful to see with their own two eyes that there was not a lick of sand to be found. "Finally, I was super tired of beach stuff!" Morgan admitted. They really hated sand, it made their ankles hurt and their boots a bit gritty. It was a mess to get out of clothes in general, and Morgan did not miss it. They were a bit upset that they missed out on getting a neat color of palm tree that wasn't black; since they were sure that there were probably non-black and red ones out there somewhere, alas; Morgan had not managed it despite spending so much time in the mansion at that time. At least today they had Seimei with them, so maybe he would notice things that Morgan didn't pay any attention to by accident. Morgan was pretty 'can't see the forest for the trees' a lot of the time, after all.

Morgan was expecting to take a long time to do some searching out here tonight. They weren't really all that tired even though they had been working with training all day long. Seimei deserved some time to himself, and Morgan was going to let him talk to them. They also needed to talk about Ryuusei's growth, and Seimei's relationship with him. Ryuusei had made it very clear that it had hurt him that his friend was not there with him, and Seimei was convinced that Ryuusei was just his rival. It was a strange situation, and Morgan wasn't used to working with others' relationships as a mediator. However, Morgan felt indebted to them to a degree; Morgan was basically their parents after all, so they needed to do something about it. She couldn't just let the pair hate each other forever, that would be a mess. They all had to live on the estate peacefully.
