That was good, at least. Now they really just needed to do some repetition, at least they thought. Morgan put the whistle back to their lips, and then gave the signal for Kirbie to come there. He didn't even hesitate, zipping over to the side just as Morgan had communicated with him about. At this rate, Morgan thought, they may actually be able to get around to the other things they wanted to work on today! The thought was super exciting, so they went ahead and gave him one of the feeder fish, which he apparently didn't quite like as much as the other treats Morgan had brought but he was just going to have to deal with that. Morgan stepped to the other side of the travel tank, and gave the whistled cue again. Kirbie quickly darted over there, with speed that made Morgan a little confused. The human gave him another of the little feeder fish.

Luckily for Morgan, the mansion didn't seem to want to do too much to be 'different' this month, at least not in the yard that they were in. They weren't really all that shocked when they looked around to make sure they were still safe, and while the sun was on it's way down and closer to the treeline now, there was nothing too shady otherwise going on in the too-normal yard. The human was quite weirded out by the mansion yard, still, since it was so bland. Everything was too perfect, even all of the trees were copies of each other, exactly. The same type, same number of branches, same weird twinned branch on every. Single. One of them. It was really icky to think about.
So the human tried not to think about it, and instead continued to repeat the 'follow' cue and behavior to make sure the tat-feesh understood it.

They continued to work on Kirbie coming to Morgan on cue, and Morgan was incredibly happy that the travel tank was large enough for them to do this training, and probably a couple of other things too. Thankfully, Morgan was sure that they would get these finished as soon as possible, and with the least amount of pain and suffering for everyone all the way around. Then maybe they could work on other things after doing a bit of exploring? This was growing to be a much better day than they thought it would be. Morgan would give the whistled cue, and the tat-feesh would come practically flying speed-wise across the travel tank towards Morgan. Any other whistled command did nothing. Upon the correct behavior, Kirbie was given a treat as a reward. That tended to work much better for younger tat-lung than the older ones, that was for certain. The human was learning just as much as Kirbie.

Morgan was convinced that Kirbie had learned to come to them from wherever he was one cue. They knew it was time to move onto something else, though they wanted to take a moment to get closer to the mansion before they did any more. "Y-you did good, Kirbie. We'll start on some more in a second." The human explained to him. Kirbie didn't seem to be bothered by anything. He was taking in the way that it got darker outside towards the night. He'd probably never noticed that before, Morgan noted. He had, after all, been in the brook or in the hot springs, whichever he preferred, but almost always indoors. Ah well! It was time to get closer to the mansion. They did, after all, want to explore it as soon as they could manage to do so. The human got the travel-tank following them (a far cry from pulling a wagon in the past!) and walked forward.

Morgan had been expecting to have a difficult time, once they got to the mansion's grand steps, actually getting Kirbie in the travel tank up those steps. However, they were pleased to find that it was not going to be difficult. The one 'odd' thing the mansion did this month was to have a slanted ramp that traveled in a low grade upwards in a circle. It was a beautiful fixture, but also would allow for Morgan to actually bring Kirbie into the mansion easily. That was good, because the affixed floating apparatus to the travel tank wasn't working properly, yet. They were planning to gently guide it up using the not quite working right apparatus, but it would seem that it would be easily enough done just going up the ramp this month. "Good, Kirbie. T-the ramp will help me get you up into the mansion." Morgan said to him, explaining.

The tat-feesh stared at the ramp with his somewhat blank eyes, and Morgan probably would have prayed to any god if they actually believed that they existed that the poor youngster would grow out of having eyes like that eventually. He looked so dead inside. Creepy, but also cute. The human guided the travel tank (equipped with a laser that would sense where Morgan was and keep up with them within reason) up the ramp carefully, and around in the lazy circle that was actually quite beautiful. What was it made of? Certainly not base concrete. After they were done, Morgan found theirself at the top of the ramp and flight of steps, on the porch of the mansion which looked like any other abode of its' caliber, and they stepped up to the front door. The door was huge and thick, vaguely nondescript to a degree, save for Morgan's extensive knowledge of carpentry helping them along.

The wood was an exceedingly rare one, from the southern isles- Morgan had read about it before. It was a naturally purple wood, with black swirls in among the purple that was exquisite when polished and left unstained. The wood looked immaculately cared for, but of course Morgan had never seen anyone out here that would pass as some sort of caretaker. So they decided that it had to be another one of those random things that sometimes teleported out of the nowhere, so they simply ran their fingers over the cut of the wood to memorize it. Afterwards, the human reached for the doorhandle, and noticed that this month, it was not brass at all. Some other type of metal, dark and dangerous but beautifully polished. The human placed their hand on it and turned. Kirbie watched as the door did not open, and Morgan sighed. "Knocker it is. I-I-I guess that is more polite, anyway."

Kirbie was drawing up a blank as to what Morgan was conveying to them, and babbling in that human tongue he didn't quite understand yet. And the thing with the fingers? That was interesting. Some kind of method of communication. He could tell by the patterns. The human reached up for a ring in the door- the same metal and color of the doorknob itself, and picked it up. But it was still attached to the door- how weird! The human banged it against the metal beneath it a few times, and then stopped, placing it back down. It almost looked like there were dragon heads on it, he thought! How weird! Kirbie swam around in the tank excitedly, hoping for a better vantage point for what was going to happen next, but he couldn't really find a good spot. He settled on one directly behind Morgan's shoulder, hoping to get a glimpse of whatever it would be.

The knocking was done, and time felt like it sat still for a moment. Suddenly, the door creaked open. Of course, the door was locked just a second ago and Morgan did not hear the snick of the door unlocking- and of course a door this big does not simply swing on it's hinges. They glanced back at Kirbie, and then stepped out of the way so that he could see better. "N-now don't get me wrong. Usually trespassing, that is g-going on someone else's property without permission, that's bad. Yeah, don't do that. But uh- the eccentric's mansion is really weird." They admitted. "It's got different rules. C-can you see inside of the door?" Morgan asked, in triplicate. The tat-feesh didn't seem to be paying attention, but he was, because he gave an answer. The human guided the travel tank inside of the building, and the door slammed shut behind them of it's own accord.

The slam made Morgan jump. The slam didn't seem to phase Kirbie. Did anything really? He was more bombproof than any of Morgan's hounds. Kirbie didn't seem to realize that it wasn't normal, which was really funny for a being that lived exclusively in a house with sliding waterproof paper doors. The human gave him a quick reassuring smile that Morgan needed but that he did not, and then turned around. Not much bothered them at first. The place was... Well, it was something. Like a normal mansion owned by a particularly geology-obsessed individual, that collected all sorts of glowing rocks and then... Well, now that Morgan was paying more attention, it looked like the person somehow coaxed them to grow out of the walls. The room did not have natural lighting whatsoever. Unless one considered glowing gems to be natural. Heck, it could be, perhaps, for all Morgan knew. They didn't think about this stuff often.

Kirbie spun around in the travel tank, looking around at all of those probably delicious looking glowing gemstones with his too-shiny eyes. But who really did think about giant glowing gemstones before they even saw one? The human vaguely considered breaking one to take it home, but upon trying to get closer to the things, Morgan felt that distinct shudder of -danger-. They didn't want to really get them into any kind of danger while Kirbie was here, otherwise they would have done it anyway. With a tad bit of frustration, the human turns around and shakes their head. "Welp, Kirbie, m-might as well start on the next thing, now that we're here." They had two things they wanted to teach Kirbie next, but they weren't sure which to do first. "H-how about I teach you to stay? Staying is really easy." The human said, trying not to look Kirbie directly in his glossy eyes.

Kirbie did not seem to be swayed one way or the other about what he was taught for now, so the human decided that stay it was. The travel tank was more than large enough to get the point across, and Kirbie had been really good about learning things up to this point! They needed to get these first few things fixed up anyway, before deciding on when and where to get the rest of his early years curriculum taught properly. "Alright, this is going to be a hand signal- for s-staying. In order to stay, I need you to be in one spot, until I come back or tell you otherwise. Okay Kirbie?" Morgan explained to him in triplicate. After a moment, Kirbie gave a quick, strange wave of the fin. It was almost an affirmative, so he was learning tat-lung conveyance, at least! "Good, this is the hand signal." Morgan raised their hand out flat, in a 'stop' signal. [63]

They let Kirbie observe the hand signal until another 'almost' affirmative was given, and then the human lowered their hand. "Alright Kirbie, I'll put my hand up, and then you stay still while I w-walk around, okay?" They said. Kirbie seemed to be willing, so the human happily raised their hand, and then walked away. They walked all the way to the wall to take a look at the crystal, and then walked around the room. When they came back, the tat-feesh had managed to stay in one spot (not terribly difficult, but hey!) and the human was pleased. "Good job, Kirbie!" They said, before giving him a small feeder fish. The tat-feesh seemed quite happy enough with the treat, and went ahead to grab it. Well, this was probably one of the easiest things to teach, that was for sure. "Let's do it again, gotta r-repeat it for good measure."
