Another solstice, another contest. Silver felt like they had just participated in this one, but perhaps they were actually remembering something else. Time seemed to slip away from them at an alarming rate, and often things could feel closer together (or further apart) than they really were. Either way, they didn't want to miss the deadline, so they headed down early to register.
"It's the Firefly Festival, By," Silver explained to the Estharne, who couldn't even be bothered to look up at them. "You know what that means, don't you? Fireworks!"
The Estharne was pinned at their side, eyeing every stranger that passed with intense suspicion. Silver was doing their best to keep him distracted and relaxed, but it was an uphill battle. Hopefully they would be done soon and they could return home where it was quiet and safe.
"Ah, hello," Silver said when it was their turn to register. "I'm, ah, I'm Silver, and this is my Estharne, Bytor. Here for the, the ah, Summer contest. Thank you."

It had been a while since Fiera had joined a contest, but with the lazy days of summer beating down on her back, she decided to do something to at least try to get out of the house. Ophelia could do with the exercise too, not that the amphadron did anything to show it. Fiera supposed she couldn't blame her- she was an amphibian after all, and the dry, cracking heat did her skin no favors. She huffed with relief as Fiera finally led her into the cool air of the contest hall. "See? That wasn't so bad." She said haughtily before prancing up to the front desk. "Hello again! I'd like to enter Ophelia here into the summer solstice contest." She glanced around- not a lot of people were here milling around. Good- maybe that meant that Ophelia wouldn't be caught entirely off guard. She was better trained for battle than for contests, after all.

Alma had been looking forward to the Solstice contest, even more so when she had come up with the idea of entering something rather than sitting back to watch. Then work had conspired with the creature’s shyness to waste her time, leaving her with just enough time to be sure he understood to spit a burst of flames on command. All other planned tricks and moves were abandoned, and Nocturne was transported to the contest hall as well as a squishy, possible bomb could.
He stayed close to her as they entered the hall, orbiting around her to keep her between any nearby sounds and creatures and himself. “Soon enough, Nocturne. Just keep calm, eat a bit if yer hungry.” Nocturne paid no attention to her muttering as far as she could tell, swooping to hover just behind her head as they reached the desk. “Howdy,” she said with a smile that was absolutely convinced the rage catharion was going to stay put and not explode, “I’m Alma, here to enter Nocturne in the Summer Solstice contest.” She held out an arm behind her, felt him wrap his slug-like limbs around it as though he intended to try to drag her out.

The summer solstice was drawing near, and in celebration the contest hall was running a special event. I was intrigued by the idea, especially with a unique prize up for grabs. Of all my creatures, I thought Aramis was the best fit to show for this contest. He could call down rain, evoking the feeling of a sudden summer storm. With that key part of the performance in mind, I went down to register for the competition.
"Good afternoon," I said with a light bow of my head. It was always a good idea to show a lot of respect for the people one is forced to work with. "I would like to register for the Summer Solstice Contest. I will be entering a Tilvander named Aramis."
Now the only thing left to do was to prevent Aramis from melting anything (or anyone) long enough to show off his more applicable abilities instead. They must have a procedure in place for such a thing, I would assume.
