> Xentus, accompanied by Mira. The agility run had begun. Xentus was fairly eager to show Mira truth be told. While the mosca was originally trained for battle, the whole reason why that even was the case was due to the highly agile nature of the flighty breed. To get the first move over an opponent was decidedly one of the best strategies in battle. While getting first in show was no race, he was still in it to win. Mira was still less than thrilled with her keeper, but obliged him when he led her into the spacious show ring. The setup offered a track and some obstacles premade for contestants - which Xentus greatly appreciated. “ Greetings, Xentus is here with his dear mosca, Mira”, the mammalian introduced, then boasted, “ Mira’s kind is one of the fastest creatures to exist, reaching speeds of over 150 miles per hour in flight! Try not to blink!” Xentus decided to start off easy. The four-winged cat was released from her leash and he pointed down the straight and narrow. “ Run, Mira!” The mosca was off before the man finished saying her name. A flurry of fur and feathers blurred across the arena, barreling down the track with a burst of speed. “ As fate would have it, Mira is exceptionally fast on land as well, especially in open spaces such as this!” It took mere seconds for the mosca to reach the far end of the arena, and on her keeper’s signal, she came racing right back. Of course, raw speed alone wasn’t the main draw here. Agility was a combination of speed, precision, and grace. While Mira wasn’t exactly trained to jump hoops or weave poles, she could turn on a dime and manage herself through tunnels. Her keeper focused on her strengths and dismissed the missed opportunities.
The poles were arranged somewhat haphazardly, but that was exactly the point. “Come then Mira, show them it isn’t all about straight lines!”, the man called, waving down the speeding feline and pointing her toward a sharp turn. Mira’s claws dug into the ground and wings flared into the air as she scrambled to shift her momentum - something far easier said than done at breakneck speeds. The mosca managed to keep on her feet and raced on to the next turn, where the same feat of athleticism was performed again.
Xentus was rather pleased with his partner’s performance, giving a satisfied nod before turning his attention to the next challenge - a dark curved tunnel. To move quickly and not be disoriented or distracted when within the claustrophobic confines of a tunnel was a traditional feat to perform in agility shows. Mira was put to the test as her keeper indicated her path. A straight line to display her speed, straight into the U tunnel. The fabric rustled violently as the mosca ran through it and out the other end!

Mira was beginning to wear out despite the short show of prowess thus far. The caveat for such high speed was that it could only be performed in quick bursts - Xentus knew this well. The performance would come to a close soon, but not without a final hurrah. He was sure most everyone watching was waiting to see the winged feline finally take to the air and so he would oblige them.
“Now then Mira, take flight!”
The command was issued in the middle of a sprint. Mira’s four wings reached into the air and pushed down. And with a leap, the mosca gracefully took to the air, sailing through it even faster than her run. The four wings pumped in pairs of two for maximum lift and speed. With nothing barring her way, the mosca was free to fly the airs of the arena and did so with ease. Her slender frame lifted by magnificent feathers , trailed by a long tail was a sight to behold. Xentus called for his companion as their showtime came to a close. Mira landed beside him, fully, out of breath. “Well done, Mira”, the man praised her quietly, ruffling her nape. With that, their performance was done.
“And that is all for Xentus and Mira! Farewell!”

Best to get this over with while they were still in one piece. Neither Drakora nor Zenjesi were fond of the bustling, noisy, flashy contest hall. The difference between them was that the Vespa may express her frustration in one of two ways: her stinger and the venom it held, or leveraging her obvious size and strength advantage over the one holding her leash.
Thus, the moment there was a gap in performances, Zenjesi entered the stage at a quick clip. The rapid movement had the advantage of intriguing the Vespa. With a loud, droning buzz, she took to the air (her more comfortable mode of locomotion) and drifted along behind the satyr like a frightening balloon. "Drakora, the Vespa," Zenjesi introduced her via their microphone, slipping their hand into their pocket. How else could one demonstrate agility in an untrained pet? The satyr pulled a stone from their pocket, reared back, and tossed it up at their Vespa. Their aim was true, but effortlessly, Drakora zipped to the side and avoided the small projectile. A loud ting, ting, ting echoed in the hall as the rock bounced away. Zenjesi felt an accusing and skeptical look at their back as they bowed, and scurried over to collect the stone once again. Yes, best to go. There was a reason their other pocket was weighted with treats. (Using: tigereye stone) (DONE) Drakora: 0.4, 2.4

The Agility Run was quite a straightforward affair, which strangely made it harder to plan for. Just move around fast, right? Well, they could probably handle that. They plopped Quin onto a stool backstage and instructed him to stay out of the way, which he was used to by now. Now that the space was free, Sencha climed up onto Silver's head, eagerly looking forward for what might happen next. With no costume or elaborate props, Silver felt a little empty handed as they walked out into the show ring. The routine this time simply didn't need much to compliment it. In fact, if they had given Sencha a costume, it would probaly hinder the performance rather than adding to it. It would certainly be more difficult for a Lerrel to fly accurately with a mask covering her face. Once they got to centre stage, Silver bowed forward, bringing the Lerrel on their head into the light. Her translucent blue wings glittered in the light. "This is Sencha," they said. Sencha's colorful eyes were wide with surprise at the sight of the crowd. It was hard to tell whether she was excited or terrified or both. [154.8, 5.6]

"Enjoy," they said. Normally they might say something about the creature to build the atmosphere of the performance, but in this case they thought it would speak for itself. They set a sack full of something aside and pulled from it some grapes on the end of a long, straight vine. Sencha swiped her paws at the grapes as they passed by her, but she was unsuccessful in grabbing one. That would come next.
Silver gently removed Sencha from her perch (their shoulder) and set her on the ground. She looked more concerned than ever, as she did not like to be on the floor. It made her feel vulnerable, but she trusted Silver and would do as they asked.
They took a few steps back, then swung the grapes out in front of them, over Sencha's head. At the same time, they called out, "Jump, Sencha!" They made sure to emphasize the word 'jump' which she knew. Otherwise she might fly and spoil the second act.
The Lerrel scrunched her body and flicked her tail, aiming herself perfectly. She twitched a few times as if to get all of her fur in exactly the right place, then leaped as high as she could to grab the grapes which were being held as high as Silver could reach. She managed to get her paws around a few and came gracefully back down to earth with them already stuffed into her mouth.

"Good girl," they cheered, slipping her another grape from their pocket as they prepared the next bit. They removed some apples from the sack they set aside earlier and held them in one hand. In the other, they grabbed a few of Sencha's favorite treats.
"Sencha, it's time to fly!" they said, pointing at the sky with their less-full hand. She blinked her big eyes a few times before it seemed like she finally remembered what she was supposed to do. She instantly took off into the air with her gossamer wings. Unlike those of a normal Lerrel, her wings were fully functional, flickering so fast they almost became a blur.
"Catch!" they said, tossing up a treat. She dove after it, catching it in midair and stuffing it in her mouth. Then they tossed another, but this time they also threw an apple at her once she got close to the treat. She was able to easily dodge the intrusive fruit and grab the treat anyway. Silver ramped up the danger by throwing multiple apples and multiple treats in quick succession, but she caught every one without faltering.
"Good job Sencha!" Silver cheered, catching her on their forearm and taking a bow.

It was finally time to begin. It had been a task and a half getting the show ring together for an aquatic competitor. Fiera didn’t think the showrunners were expecting a neptica to be entered, but had been obligated to drag out the tanks they used for aquatic contests once she entered. The ring itself was already set down below the majority of the audience, so they could still see the top and sides of the glass tank. The tank was an enormous oval. In the center was a large platform where Fiera could stand, making the tank shaped a bit like a runner’s race track, and there was an additional lip around the perimeter so Fiera could follow her pet as he moved. A variety of structures had been set up- hoops, jumping poles, ropes, a bin full of toys and tools, everything Fiera would need to show off his repertoire of tricks. Harding had already been situated in the tank and given a little bit of time to acclimatize himself to his surroundings, and once the lights went on Fiera put on her best and brightest smile for the audience.

“Hello, everyone!” Fiera said, putting on a cheery expression and waving an arm. She was wearing, of course, a bright pink and black wetsuit, but holding a blue umbrella at her side. “I’m Fiera Ferella of course, and here is the most agile creature under the waves- the master of swimming and jumps- Harding!” She said, gesturing to her pet. “Harding, let's give them a taste of what you can do! Leap!” She called out, and he jumped up in the air, spinning beautifully while rapidly rising several feet above the water. Fiera whipped out the umbrella, showing it to the crowd, and opened it just in time as he splashed down, protecting herself from the spray but allowing the audience some delighted squeals as the front splash zone got wet. Then, she snapped her fingers at Harding again. “Harding, follow me!” She said, and began jogging around the perimeter of the tank, letting the entire audience get a good look at him and his unique movements. As she did however, she offered an explanation. (Harding uses Leap, Follow, Fiera uses umbrella.)

“Agility isn’t just pure speed, remember! It’s dexterity! Aim! Accuracy! And yes, of course, speed.” She said with a wink before slowing to a stop in their original spot in front of the judges. “But hey, how can a creature without eyes possibly aim?” She rummaged around in the plastic bin set up on her platform before pulling out some bells, shaking them a few times to emphasize the noise they made. “Why with sound, of course! Harding, catch!” She said, and tossed the bundle of bells into the air. She heard Harding let out a series of clicks, and the jingling they made as they fell made them easy for him to “spot” as well. As they came down he quickly pumped his tail, rising out of the water elegantly to snatch them out of the air by a single bell clutched between his teeth before falling back down with a splash and a jingle. (Harding uses Catch, Fiera uses bells.)

The audience gave an appreciative murmur and applause as Fiera retrieved the bells from Harding. “So he has the accuracy to catch something coming towards him- but how about to throw something somewhere else? To hit a target with precision?” She said, holding her arms out to the audience. Then she reached into the bin and pulled out something else- a sack toss game. “Let’s see if he can hit the target with his echolocation, everybody!” She called out, trying to hype the audience up. “Okay Harding, hold this!” She said, offering him a sack. He swam up to the edge of the tank and carefully held it between his teeth. Then she tapped the top of the sack toss game to direct his attention. “Alright Harding- throw!” She said, and stood back a bit. Harding hesitated for a moment, clicking loudly to echolocate the shape of the game and the holes in it before rearing back in the water. (Fiera uses sack toss game, Harding uses Echolocation, Hold, and Yeet.)

He deftly tossed the sack in the air and it spun forward, landing cleanly through one of the holes. Fiera held up the sack for everyone to cheer at and tossed Harding another treat. “You’re doing great! Keep it up!” She whispered to him, though it was probably difficult to hear over the din. While they were busy, Fiera walked to the central platform and got another tool out- a jumping barrel, and set on top of it a small inflatable beach ball. “Now behold as Harding uses his speed and grace to hit the ball- without disturbing the barrel in the slightest!” She said, and then whistled to get Harding’s attention. She tapped the ball a few times against the barrel so he could ‘see’ it. “Harding! Strike!” She said, and stepped back as he sunk into the water. He circled the platform a few times, gaining speed as the audience watched with bated breath. (Fiera uses racing barrel and beach ball, Harding uses Tail Strike.)

Then, he launched out of the water, spinning in midair just in time to smack the ball from the top of the barrel, sending it flying out into the crowd. There was one surprised yelp that Fiera hoped she wouldn’t be held responsible for, but the majority of them seemed to be greatly impressed. With that, Fiera turned back to the metal barrel. “But of course, while a large creature performing precise tasks is fun, it’s not all you’d expect from an agility contest, right? You came here for speed!” She shouted, holding her hands up in the air to be met with cheers. “Well, we can deliver on that! Harding, tackle!” She said, pushing the barrel to the far side of the platform. Harding began to circle again, but this time faster and even faster than before, becoming a whirl of blue and orange under the waves.
(Harding uses Jump.)

Then he leapt out of the water, throwing himself like a missile at the barrel, slamming into it with his full weight. The clanging metal flew out of the ring entirely, clattering on the ground outside of the tank, a large dent pounded into its side. Harding landed on the other side of the ring with barely even a splash, his hydrodynamic shape simply slipping into the water in contrast with the violence he had just done. Fiera wasted no time, pulling out a water gun and aiming it at her pet as he rose to the surface again. “Harding, dodge!” Was the only warning she gave before she started firing, shooting blasts of water at him from the edge of the ring. He deftly avoided each one, zipping from side to side, back and forth, even jumping over the central platform once to avoid her blasts. Not a single drop hit him as he landed back down. (Fiera uses water gun, Harding uses Dodge.)
