With the Illusion show being brand new, Silver had no idea what expected to happen. They had a plan for their own performance, of course, but they were curious about what others might do. Not every creature was a natural born illusion master, after all. They liked to see it when people had something unique or unusual to show off. It allowed them the opportunity to see something new. Their own crafter of illusions was Thoth, the Magesty Amphadron of magic show fame. He had already proven himself a talented mage, and Silver thought they could adapt his talents for this particular show. As fun as it was to debut a brand new creature, adapting another contest champion to a different kind of show was a worthwhile challenge as well. Silver gently rested their hand on Thoth to reassure him just before the two of them stepped out into the show ring. [157.1, 21.4]

Silver walked to center stage with the lights slowly dimming until it was difficult to see anything but them and their glowing fur. Thoth stood in their shadow, his white body and unusual skin glimmering with the faint light from the only stage light that was still on.
"Presenting - Thoth!" Silver stepped to the side so everyone could see Thoth more clearly. He was certainly an unusual looking creature with his twisting rune-like markings adding credibility to his magic act.
"Though he may not look it, Thoth is light enough to dance on sunbeams," they said, gesturing to Thoth and putting an emphasis on the right words so he knew what to do.
The Amphadron raised his claws to the sky and a pillar of light came down to meet him. The higher he raised his hands, the brighter the light grew. He waved his long, flowing tail back and forth slowly, as if he was starting to dance.

As Thoth's dance moves slowly became more intricate with the incorporation of hand gestures and head weaving, he suddenly began to float into the air. It was as if the light was carrying him toward the heavens. His elaborate frills waved with the moving air, giving the impression that he was swimming through the light.
Once he had reached a sufficient height, Thoth held up a small glass object he had been given by Silver just before he took off. The light struck the prism and cast a beautiful array of colors onto the ground. He waved it around for a bit, adjusting the angle until it finally went where he wanted.
The colorful light from the prism hit a hanging chime made of glass beads, scattering tiny rainbows across the crowd. Rainbows danced across the astonished faces of the audience with every subtle movement of the beads in the wind.
Finally, it was over. Thoth slowly floated back down, and immediately wrapped his tail around Silver for comfort. "Good job, buddy," Silver said, patting him gently.
"Thoth, everyone!" they shouted to the crowd with a bow before making a hasty exit.

Augh, contests. Victor wasn't really designed for them. He was a pet trained for battles,, for tearing other creatures apart, for being aware of his surroundings at all time... none of which served him particularly well in the contest hall. It was clear he hated the judges, hated the audience, and hated the other pets, but was willing to put up with it for Fiera's sake. Fiera appreciated it- and it wasn't like he wouldn't get to use ANY of his violent skills. He'd likely perform admirably. Especially now that she had dressed him up all fancy- his beautiful blue pelt had shiny scales that reflected the light coming from the illusory stars on the interior of the hood. It gave him a shadowy, mysterious look, perfect for the mood she was trying to set for the contest. She sauntered out onto the stage, her own dress glittering as well. "Everybody, I have a very special beast to show you today!" She called to the waiting crowd. (Victor shows off the Star Cloak.)

"A fearsome creature from far fields, a slayer of evil, a destroyer of spirits! Behold- Victor! Come to me!" She said dramatically, and the rakai sarane obeyed, bursting from the shade. The cloak fluttered behind him dramatically as he surged onto the stage, running as fast as he could towards Fiera. It was perhaps a little overenthusiastic, but Fiera appreciated him trying. He skidded to a stop in front of Fiera, and even looked around briefly for threats. Fiera walked him in front of the audience. "Behold, a perfect avatar of ferocity! Imagine how many demons he's slain in his time!" Victor glared at the audience, making a few of them gulp at his fearsome expression. "But you didn't come here to look at him as is- you want to see what he can do! Behold, his powerful control over magic and illusion- just what every warrior against darkness needs."
(Victor uses Come, displays Intimidation.)

With little hesitation, Fiera got out a paper kite she had brought- one in the shape of a (hopefully) fearsome looking dragon. She nodded to Victor as she let it pull up towards the ceiling, assisted by the fans set up around the performance arena. Then, she pulled out an ordinary stick and struck it against the ground, causing it to light up with a bright blue light. She tossed it to Victor. "Catch! And slay the dragon with your newfound sword!" She said, and gestured to the kite. He growled lowly and ran towards the kite, leaping into the air- and missing it by a few feet. Not to be deterred, he landed and instantly his body started shimmering, the stars on his cloak duplicating as the boundaries of his form fuzzed out. In a moment, there was not one, but two Victors- one with the sparkler and cloak, and one without.

The copy ran forward, positioning itself under the kite. Then Victor sprinted after it, leaping onto its back and vaulting off of it. He dragged the sparkler across the kite before landing back down on the other side. Now on fire, the kite didn't last long and soon began drifting towards the ground. Victor didn't even let it make it that far. As the double image shimmered away to nothing, he dropped the sparkler and ran forward again, slicing at it with his claws. All that made it to the arena floor were small scraps of burned paper. "That isn't the only foe he'll face today! Evil never sleeps, you know!" Fiera said, and opened the first of the little carriers she brought with her. The pocket pet that exited was a small little candle flame of a beast, and it was quick to float around Victor's head, who snarled openly at it.

It swooped at his head, again and again- though whether it was attacking or playing it was hard to tell. "I think that fire needs to be blown out a bit, don't you think? Victor, roar!" She called out, and he was quick to comply to get this annoying little creature to leave. The noise that came out of his throat was terrifying- and breathy. The swirl sprite shrank a size as the wind rushed past him, and even the audience was stunned at the volume of it. "There, that's a bit more manageable! Back to normal, eh? How about you put it to sleep?" She said, and Victor was happy to perform. He focused his gaze on it, and a strange glow came from his eyes as the fiery sprite turned back to him. Its eyes widened for a moment in surprise, but then fluttered shut as the little creature floated to the ground, asleep. Fiera picked it up- it was a lot cooler now- and showed it to the audience before returning it to its carrier.
(Victor uses Roar and Sleep.)

"Are you ready now, then- for the final task! The final evil! After all, all bad things come in threes!" She said, holding up the last critter carrier. The audience roared their approval just as loudly as Victor had roared before. She slid open the little door, and the thing that came out didn't so much as float as it did... drip, and then hang in the air. The night terror let out a screeching cackle before flying around Fiera's head, and she ducked out of the way to make sure it didn't hit her. They weren't necessarily dangerous, but they could give you nightmares if they were able to touch you- and she was sure the audience already knew their reputation. "Victor, help! This beautiful maiden-" (Fiera looked at the audience proudly) "-Is under attack!" She said, clutching her chest dramatically. She then whispered "Horn strike!" under her breath while the audience was commiserating. Victor huffed and ran towards her, leaping into the air before slapping the little creature with a tine of his antlers, effortlessly batting it away from her.
(Fiera uses the Night Terror, Victor uses Horn Strike.)

Now that there was some distance between the strange intruder and his owner, Victor could get to work. Fiera hardly needed to direct him, barking sharp little orders and making gestures with her arms, but mostly letting Victor take the lead. He was the real star of the show, after all. The fear-inflicting pocket pet dove at him and he turned to let it bounce off of his scales. They were polished to the point of glittering for the show, but they had been carefully honed and hardened by training as well. The Terror rebounded quickly and dove at him again, this time phasing right through his head. The audience gasped, knowing how such a thing would likely strike him down with fear- but Victor was tougher than that, and simply grit his teeth and bore the brunt of it. After all, he had his own cards to play as well.
(Victor displays Stone Skin and Hardy.)

The night terror flew upwards, but slowed down eventually- indicating to Victor that it was going to turn around and come back at him again. His flames flared high, and a shimmering appeared around him again as he tapped into his natural magic. The cloak glimmered with light and then suddenly floated up and flowed along his sides as if lifted by some unseen wind. It gleamed bright as if the starlight on it had increased tenfold. The night terror dove straight down, no doubt trying to pierce through him again- only to bounce off the cloak, reflected off by the magic he had poured into it. It bounced along the ground a couple of times, stunned. Victor whipped around, not wanting to give it time to recover as it shakily pulled itself off the ground, hissing loudly. He fixed his eyes on it, and the air around him distorted, as if a sudden heatwave was being generated- but this had nothing to do with his flames.
(Victor uses Magic Touch (Magic Shield) and Dizzy Mind)

Then in a flash, the distorted air launched forward, slamming against the creature. It tottered around in midair, like a spinning top about to fall over. There was no hope for it now. Victor dashed forward, throwing his jaws around the creature and slamming them shut. The evil was defeated. (Though Fiera knew that he was safely holding it in his mouth.) The audience cheered loudly as Fiera simply gestured at Victor- his actions spoke for themselves. "Wasn't that amazing, ladies and gents? Isn't he splendorous? I hope you enjoyed our little show of smoke and mirrors- and who knows, perhaps some of it was even real!" She said with a wink before gesturing to Victor to follow her off stage. It took her a few minutes to convince him to spit out the pocket pet, but eventually she was able to get the slimy thing back in its carrier. Now that was a show they would never forget.
(Victor uses crunch.)

They were the last to go, and with not much to show for, there wasn't much to offer to impress the crowd. Still... Xentus figured it was worth showing off the crossbreed, if only because he thought it was a wonderful specimen. "Let us show them what you can do, Ely", the man muttered softly to the glass avian, petting its smooth feathers. It grated its beak and followed after the man as he ventured into the show ring, uncertain of what to make of all this. The bright spotlight and many faces of the crowd were off putting. The crossbreed spread his wings and wavered them as a warning - which was more interesting than it was threatening. "Meet Elysian, the Aetherix!", Xentus announced, then turned to his companion, "Fly, Ely" The wavering turned to flapping as the glass bird took to the air, heeding the man's command. Unexpectedly, a spray of sparkling water was flung up at it, dazzling and glittering off the lights in the ring. Elysian reared back and launched a spirited bite at the offending mist, confused and scared. It was as if the water's soul had been shattered, spraying out in a ghastly haze. "Ely! Hey now, calm down!", Xentus shouted at the bird. This... Wasn't turning out too well. The man chewed his lip and recalled his pet, making a hasty retreat off the stage. [Xentus uses Glitter Water, Elysian uses Fly and Spectral Bite]
