After a few moments of sitting there in the cold that Morgan had hoped they wouldn't have to be outside in, the individual started to stir. Morgan was glad; they needed to offload this trouble as soon as possible so that Morgan could go into the mansion and do some real checking out of all of the mansion grounds. Well, provided that whatever attacked him wasn't here and going to hurt Cozette... Blegh, Morgan thought. This was a lot more complicated now than Morgan had actually wanted. This sort of thing always seemed to happen, and it was not something that was looked forward to by the bespectacled human. "Hey, what is up with you?" Morgan demanded, with a tad more worry than they had wanted to convey. Cozette shuddered, but moved towards the guy on the leash, a bit away from Morgan but close enough that Morgan did not scold her.

Morgan knew that Cozette was probably going to be anxious for a long time period, and Morgan was going to have to earn repertoire with her in order to get her to be trainable in the future. Now this had certainly caused quite a bit of trouble in the long run, and Morgan could see it being more of an issue in the future. Ah well, they thought. They watched as the humanoid began to get back up from where he was. He looked very confused, placing a palm on his face. Morgan crossed their arms immediately, still holding onto the leash. "You, come on, wake up. Let me know what happened to you." Morgan said, voice controlled. It took a moment for the individual to get to the point to where they were up. Cozette slunk away from him, nearly curling the leash around Morgan's legs in the meantime. "Cozette, naw." they said to the hound.

That was when the man seemed to gather all of his witts about him while Morgan was paying more attention to Cozette than to him. He grabbed Morgan by the collar, prompting a surprised Morgan to shout a bit, before he brought their face close enough to his for him to whisper in their ear 'we've got to hide' in a hushed tone. Morgan understood immediately, and then gently picked up the still-thankfully-small Cozette in one arm, depositing the pup in one of Morgan's huge pockets, still attached to the now slack collar. Then, Morgan was let go, and the pair moved stealthily and quietly from the yard of the mansion towards the mansion. Morgan didn't know what they were hiding from, and they did not trust the man implicitly, but they did know that fearful look when they saw it enough to trust at the very least that he was actually afraid of something. Morgan was pretty sure that if this person, who was much stronger than them with their magic at the very least, was scared of anything that Morgan needed to be afraid too. Morgan couldn't wait for Cosette to shiver and refuse to move like she was earlier on the leash when they needed to move quickly, so they quickly put the pup in their pocket to keep this from happening in the future. Morgan knew not to ask too, better get to a better position as opposed to any actual speaking out here where any noise that was unnecessary might actually get whatever it was to know where they were. So they waited until they got to the porch, and glanced around. Morgan noticed the shiver in the body of the male, and didn't question it. Morgan felt at home here, and that meant that he wouldn't by nature. Order and Chaos, after all.

Morgan had not been planning on staying too long today, but they were coming to the terms that maybe, they were going to get stuck here for a long while during the time that they were trying to stay away from what ever was going on around here. Whatever thing had hurt him. Surely it was a thing, right? Or a person? That was even scarier. Knowing his job, what Morgan would be hopefully working at soon, made that even more of a terrifying prospect. It wasn't the Labs, was it? Or was it a thing on the mansion grounds? It might actually be something on the mansion grounds, Morgan decided. It was a terrible idea, a terrifying and scary idea, but they knew that it was going to be okay if they got somewhere where they could figure out what was going on. Cosette shifted around to hide further in Morgans' large pocket.

Time would probably be of the essence, Morgan thought as they managed to get to the front door. The mansion was particularly foreboding today, and Morgan was beginning to slowly make guesses at why everything seemed to be so mismatched. On one hand, the area was completely ungroomed on one side, and on the other side was meticulously groomed. The hedges grew wild and free, brushing up against the mansion with claws on one side, but on the other side they were in perfect square shaped and lovely little statuesque forms, straight lines and careful artistic mathematics. However, something was just... wrong about how particular it was on that side. Morgan could not quite place it completely, and it left them stumped in a way that was far more comfortable, yet far more unsettling in other ways than the injuries that had been inflicted on this individual. Cozette shuddered in Morgan's pocket.

Morgan had not been planning this. Sure, they wanted to actually visit inside of the mansion this month and that had always been the plan, but Morgan was not really wanting to be running from something they didn't know what was in the meantime. It was a huge mess, and one that Morgan would never have purposefully dove headfirst in if they had a choice. However, they couldn't just leave this individual to die, not when he was so useful. So there it was, the pair of them standing at the huge door. Feeling shivers down their spines for obviously different reasons, and of course Cozette shuddering in the pocket as well. Morgan was thankful for those very large pockets in that moment, though it did take them off balance. The door handle was tentatively tried by the furtive male, and Morgan stood back, arms crossed, keeping a lookout really fast while obviously the door was quite stuck.

Frack was the first thing Morgan thought. They brushed past the individual, probably would have pushed him away if not for the fact that they weren't all that strong if they didn't force their way. However, they grabbed one of the knockers and knocked as if they belonged there; and the mansion seemed to respond. Morgan could feel the power in it, beneath the wood, heck within the wood perhaps? The double doors slid open as if they all belonged in there, and Morgan slipped past, dragging the individual by his lab-coat sleeve and then placing a palm on Cozette's head and gently tussling her ears to let her know that all was okay. As soon as they were within the mansion, the door slammed and Morgan heard it snick shut. Huh, well, it wasn't entirely worrisome, Morgan thought. That was perfectly fine, and normal. The mansion probably just had automatic doors or something.

Morgan never ceased to attempt to find actual reasons for the mansion to be doing the things that seemed to happen on it's grounds. They were utterly convinced that someone actually lived here, and that it wasn't anything too odd going on. It couldn't be. Sure, they had made a node, but it was probably some kind of science that just wasn't well understood yet. That was it. Morgan patted the houluh on the head, enjoying the fact that her fur was a little bit different in texture than that of her bigger 'sibling' (not that they were related) and then they turned away from the door. Morgan didn't look at their surroundings just yet, instead turning to the other humanoid. "Hey, what is the big deal, you need to tell me what happened to you and what you are doing an-" Morgan cut theirself off, watching the man shudder where he stood.

Morgan had been planning this trip for a long time now; well, technically they had planned this out months ago, whenever they had decided that they were going to visit the mansion every single month, but already they felt a little funny and like everything had somehow not went as planned. That sucked, absolutely sucked! Morgan hated when things didn't go as planned. They really wanted nothing more than to be able to have a calm and nice walk with Cozette, but instead they were dealing with one of the 'rabbit siblings' (heck, not that this guy was even a rabbit, though Morgan didn't doubt that they had grown up together) that had been hurt somehow, and for some reason fell through luck right in front of them. Well, luck for him, none for Morgan and Cozette, who really just wanted a walk to get Cozette used to Morgan and all of that.

Morgan was, however, incredibly proud of the fact that the pup had stayed sat in the pocket as calm as day. Well, she was shaking, but she wasn't as calm as Nico. Of course that was the case though, Morgan didn't even expect it. Though they did feel really sad that they had accidentally caused a lot of stress on her by taking on this 'charity case' of a person today. However... Morgan didn't need them to die. Heck, they probably wouldn't care if he did, but they did worry that they wouldn't get any of the information they needed if he did go. So it was better for Morgan to spend a few of their herbs than it would be to actually deal with that loss of an information pipeline. There were some questions that Morgan just needed answered though, and directly. What had happened? And what was chasing him they presumed? And what? Just what?

Morgan grabbed him by the lapel by one fist, finally, still petting the houluh with the other hand as gently as possible. "Hey, you! Come on, snap out of it. You gotta tell me what is goin on. I don't have all day." Well, technically Morgan did, but this was their ONLY calm day for a while. He needed to spit it out, and soon. The individual shook a bit more, but before he could start to break down, Morgan furrowed their brows at him. Finally, he seemed to understand that he was at least a little safer than he had been, anyway. Cozette was poking more of her head out of one of the huge pockets now, anyway. That was certainly a good thing. 'The mansion... It's the labs.' He said, cryptically or perhaps still not thinking straight. Morgan had arms crossed against their chest immediately. "No... The mansion is the mansion." They argued. [35]

Morgan wasn't really putting two and two together, but it wasn't out of stupidity. They thought that perhaps the individual was getting a fever; there was no way that the labs and the mansion were anywhere really close to each-other let alone- Morgan heard a light noise, like a mouse going across the floor, and it made them turn their head slightly to just do the normal action of glancing over something that may be occurring as a regular check. They immediately widened their eyes as their gaze fell upon the bright white tile. They took in a larger amount of air than they had been doing when breathing and talking just a moment earlier, and realized that the air smelled a little bit sterile. Immediately, Morgan wrinkled their nose; no it was precisely sterile. It stank of chemicals, reeked even. Oh, so that is what he meant. Just because it was sterile didn't mean the the trio (Morgan, the pup, and their charity case) had found 'the labs'. That was all the way across town! Still, Morgan patted the houluh.

Morgan sighed now, just thinking about the situation. There wasn't a lot that really could be done except to deal with what they had to deal with at the moment. Morgan gently grabbed the individual by his shoulders. "We should be relatively safe in here, but I need to do some exploring this month at the very least." Morgan mentioned, voice tired. They gently guided him by the shoulders to the nearest plush chair, which appeared to be a reading chair near a small coffee table with a few books stacked on it. "Why don't you sit here and read while Cozette and I look around?" It was obvious that they weren't going to get any useful information from this guy for a while, so might as well go do something much more productive with their time while he sat and got his head in gear. That was what Morgan was thinking, anyway.
