The quality of air out here was incalculably better than that of her workplace in the labs. Yang could stand the sterile environments of her work places; anyone who worked there had to, what with all the chemicals, blood, and creatures coming-and-going. It came with the job; the animals, the filth, the cleaning, over and over again. It had to be kept sterile in order to do her work, and that included the ventilation. Recycled air, kept in it's cycle for as long as possible, was kept impossibly clean. While there were no perfumes, additives or rank odors, the still air carried its own rancid flavor, being pushed around through the air ducts like dead water. Yang took yet another, long, deep breath of the world; it was an incredible experience. She could still smell late blooms far from her vision, and the smell of decaying matter only reassured the presence of Autumn. 27 __________ Yang: Lvl. 15 [7/20] Reinic: Lvl. 4 [3/5]

Yang sneezed; and sneezed again. The fresh-ness was in her nose; she sneezed a third time. Reinic blinked, watching, looking on with the stark reminder of someone exasperatedly saying 'scandalous!' Yang laughed half-heartedly, giving a sniff and rubbing at her nose. "'s'cuse me." Reinic leaned back over, and Yang gently held the underside of her jaw and scratched her ears. "Oh what a look you gave," Yang muttered in feigned exasperation, feeling peaceable as Reinic gave a deep almost purr-like vibration "..as if you've never sneezed b'fore." Reinic's big, violet eyes looked up with animal innocence. Yang smiled and smooched her nose. Reinic gave a snuffing huff, turning her snoot away, but otherwise allowing Yang to continue petting her ears. Yang smiled still, leaning her hip on the rocky, grass-covered ledge that Reinic lounged on. What a fantastic idea, to put this ledge here; and putting the waterfall on its underside, trickling into the pond below? Genius. 28 __________ Yang: Lvl. 15 [8/20] Reinic: Lvl. 4 [4/5]

Yangs hand drifted after a minute of petting behind the pairs of ears, gently touching the petals of the flower atop Reinics head. Either she didn't mind or she couldn't feel it, as she didn't change her position, or otherwise indicate that she'd felt Yangs touch. Instead, she began slowly leaning more and more into Yang. The tiny, still-hardened berry was ever-present at the center of the lily-flower, and Yang mulled over the thought of Lola. She could take Reinic to the nearby clinic today infact, and see about re-producing. The girl was obviously in fine spirits, and as she thought earlier, surely she would produce some fine lola. More lotine? Yang 'hmm'ed as she imagined it. A whole collection! At the moment, she had to brace her weight into the animal; for being plant-based, she was pretty heavy! Maybe she'd have to call the clinic for a helping hand...29 __________ Yang: Lvl. 15 [9/20] Reinic: Lvl. 4 [5/5]

The trip to the breeding center had been a success, and at the cusp of a new month, Yang was the proud owner of some new lola. She had taken photos, filed away under a new 'Lola' folder along with other bits of information about the specific breed. There was such a vast, genetic pool for possible outcomes, that having the new little-ones far outweighed any individual quality at this point; she was more interested in collecting in quantity at the moment, and gradually, would begin focusing on quality; Yang could for-see her future wallet, burning away quickly as vast amounts of credits turned into fish, potions, and treats. What a terrible whirlwind to be stuck in! Yang stood at the gates of her fence, looking in, pocketing a pear. The helpful workers at the clinic had helped her return her lotine and new lola to the pond earlier; the temperature had cooled with the help of some brisk winds, but the sun was still high above, beating down with a harsh heat and betraying the look of autumn that had started in and around nearby. From here, she could head to the shops in record time; there were lots of walking-trails connecting the city, after-all..30 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [10/20]

The trail coming back from the shops was quick and painless. A few others were walking the trails, and Yang had exchanged polite smiles with the few as she made her way onward. None of them were close acquaintances or friends so there wasn't any fleeting conversation, but she didn't mind at all! A glass vial sat in her pocket, cradled in her hand, filled with a soft-blue liquid that she would be giving to a lola. Some of them had been bought off the market, but a couple had been produced by Reinic herself, and Yang couldn't wait to see the outcome of her 'offspring' reaching full-maturity. Reaching the gates of her garden-plot in record time, Yang un-latched the gate, and stepped inside, latching it closed behind and taking off down the dirt-trail towards the fountain. The soft babes never left the pond, often bobbing about around the edges of the pond, bumping softly against the lily-pads and smooth-river stones. 31 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [11/20]

Coming up to the pond, Reinic gave a soft 'coo', her sleepy eyes partially open as she peered from her statuesque pose atop the ponds ledge. Yang gave a soft 'hi girl', but otherwise by-passed her, crouching low towards the pond. The fountain softly bubbled, the ripples gently cascading across the mostly-clear waters. Despite taking her time, looking among the reeds, lily-plants and other aquatic vegetation, it was proving difficult to spot one of the handful of lola that were left bobbing around. As the sun dipped behind a fluffy cloud, Yang spotted a spot of orange- a lola! One of her most recent ones, at that. Gently, Yang paddled the water, and scooped the small babe up with one hand. Its small leg pawed its snout, face scrunching a moment, before relaxing again. Yang pulled out the vial, and with some careful re-arrangement of her arms and the two things she held (agh, she only had two hands..!), she popped the cork off the glass vial, and introduced the soft-blue to the orange bab. 32 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [12/20] Reinic: Lvl. 9 [1/5]

Yang gently held the lola, watch it gently nuzzling, then guzzling, from the smooth glass nozzle. From her grasp, the girl began sprouting! Like a feline caught in a long, sun-bathing sleep and ready to awaken, she stretched in length and her weight bloomed, just as the flower on her head did. By the time the jar was emptied, the palm-sized babe was now as big as Reinic; who remained poised on her rock, with an otherwise stoic attitude, un-phased by the smooth, if sudden, growth spurt of lola to lotine. Yang couldn't help but make a noise of glee, wiggling free from under the new, much larger lotine, letting her slide off Yangs lap so she could stand. Bounding a few feet away, Yang leant back with zeal, held her breath behind a grin, and snapped a picture of her new, golden beauty. Golden beauty...She was like a Sunflower! What a perfect name! Yang skipped her fingers over the keys on her technological screen, adding the new text, photo, and data to her online-workspace. She would take time in the evening when relaxing later to add the same info to her hard-cover journal, just for the fun of physically organizing. Ooh this was going to be a long, fun project in the making! 33 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [13/20] Reinic: Lvl. 9 [2/5] Sunflower: Lvl. 0 [1/5]

The girl, dubbed sunflower, gave a stupendous yawn! As though the sudden onslaught of growth hadn't phased her or required any act on her part. Her brilliantly bright eyes blinked in a slow arising stupefaction, head gently turning this way and that, taking in the vision of the world all around. Yang was sure that something would have changed for the lotine, no longer a small bab. The girl wasn't entirely keen on how close Yang became as she walked closer towards the bond, turning 'round and dipping head-first into the pond. Reinic watched in attention, eyes never leaving the sight of the golden girl, still a brilliantly visible streak through the clear waters. Yang wasn't perturbed, and rather took her stance by the ponds edge. Having been a babe, the girl would've imprinted, and would surely make a home of the pond soon enough. Better yet, she would be back if just to check Reinic out. She'd seen how these creatures behaved when suddenly in a new awareness, or environment. Usually it meant checking things out, peeking through the under-growth, and otherwise becoming more aware of everything that had never truly existed until now! 34 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [14/20] Reinic: Lvl. 9 [3/5] Sunflower: Lvl. 0 [2/5]

Sure as anything, Yang stood, hands back in their appropriate pockets. She still held the (now empty) glass jar in the one hand; it would be put to use holding something or other, she could tell. It was a fine glass jar, and such a quality crafting job! She wasn't going to just toss it in the bin, not with a million different things that could be put in there! Yang rocked in slight on the balls of her feet and her heels, peering around the reeds and distant lily pads, watching the glimmer of gold move about a few meters away. The girl didn't seem overtly skittish; her nose peeped above the water line, poking at a few larger aquatic plants that floated along the surface. Sure she'd bolted when Yang approached, but the 'whole' of it was new. The girls new mental-prowess (when compared to that of a lola), the world in all its shapes and colours, and Reinic! Who, Yang looked over at, was still loafing atop the ledge. Her head was tucked back much like a birds; eyes closed, feet folded as well as her wings, with her tail snaking down and touching the waters surface; yes, Yang could see the sheer, fearsome, meancing presence the girl gave off. Yang leaned over, giving the silvery-sheen girl a few gentle pets. A thrum of approval came from Reinic, but she was otherwise motionless, basking in the Autumn sun. Shortly after, Yang stood and dusted off her pants, her mind already thinking of the fights that the day promised...35 _____ Yang: Lvl. 16 [15/20] Reinic: Lvl. 9 [4/5] Sunflower: Lvl. 0 [3/5]

The fight within the pits ended with a no-show, and Yang was thankful for the opportunity to make her way to back to her gardens. The blustering winds from earlier had died down, and while the clouds that had been brushed away slowly rolled back in, it was still by all accounts a beautiful day. Yang took a deep breath, the fresh air a blessing and a lovely difference to the bloody air and dusty grit that swelled in the pits where beasts and animals clashed. Her own drakes were kept at home, all (except one) still babs, needing to be trained, loved, and in the end, broken before she attempted another tournament. It was one thing to collect mild-mannered and docile creatures, and another entirely to own a wild, aggressive beast. Yang flicked up her wrist, the technological blue network blipping on as numbers flicked, rose, and fell. To her, they made all the sense in the world- her bank account would be empty, but a new lovely teir 3 drake would be delivered to her door step soon. 36 ___ Yang: lvl. 17 [6/20]

A small 'ping!' rang out and a bubbly mail-icon bounced in its holographic form. It was a basic 'you've got a delivery!' notification, and Yang flicked it away with a silent joy. The notification meant that the delivery had been complete, and when she made her way back home, there would be her newly owned baby drake, placed in the outdoor pen with the other babs. Her timing, atuned after years of working in the labs where a mix of calculations, levels, and measurements, was flawless as far as the growth-pattern for the beasts. While one hatchling had grown, the rest were still small, and so long as they remained small there would be no worries as far as un-warranted scuffles. That would be the last thing she wanted- to have a territorial drake wind up slaughtering all the other babs. The thought made her frown, but she flicked it away as easily as the mail-notification, instead looking on to her Garden where the slighty-tamed wilderness made for a comfortable patch of wildland, where her many animals and beasts were tucked away.
