The harachiu chafed at the restrictions, but eventually relented, agreeing that it was safer to have set rules now rather than panic later on. She did however request to bring a small spiral notebook and a stubby pencil that she could use to try and make sketches of the mansion’s unique layouts, creatures, and scenery. Fiera approved- she saw no reason not to. Amber also insisted on packing her own bag with a ton of medical supplies. “You aren’t... going to need those.” Fiera had said, but Amber only shoved another bandaid in there. “I might. You never know what will happen.” “Okay but do you even know how to use those?” Fiera responded, and Amber furrowed her brow. “I know more than you think.” Was all she’d say before she got up, all ready to go. Fiera could only shrug- she brought all the other supplies she had said to bring.

So if Amber wanted to make her bag extra heavy then well, that was her problem. Despite the weight of the bag however, Amber was still able to follow Fiera by flying, the flapping of her wings just barely audible over the ambient noises of the path leading up to the mansion. “Ready?” Fiera said, glancing over her shoulder as she gripped the wrought iron gate. Amber landed on her shoulder gracefully. “Of course.” She replied, and gestured for Fiera to lead the way. She undid the clasp on the gate and pushed it open with a loud grinding noise. “May is Day of Dreaming, right? Let’s see what we’ve got.” Fiera said with a grunt, pushing the gate the rest of the way open. She heard Amber gasp with surprise at the appearance of the mansion. Fiera supposed that was fitting- it was her first time here, after all.

Fiera quickly looked up to take the mansion in herself. It had been a year since she had seen the mansion in this state, after all. “Oh.. it’s beautiful!” Amber remarked, with a wide eyed look of awe that Fiera only very rarely saw on her. She was normally so serious and goal oriented, it was nice to just see her happy and curious. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sky so blue!” What? Oh, right, Fiera was supposed to be looking at the mansion and not her harachiu. Yeah, it was really pretty. Rolling green hills like something out of a storybook stretched out for miles under a perfect sapphire sky, meeting at the horizon with nary a jagged edge. And placed in front of them, stark and white, the mansion stood. It was solid this month and proud, the only structure visible for miles.

It was tall and stately, nearly castle-like. It’s sides were made of fine wood and marble however, reminding Fiera of the plantation homes that sprung up in the countryside sometimes back home. The mansion would have dwarfed them all though, with nearly ten floors and tall windows stabbing up toward the sky. Fiera found herself walking toward it in a daze, with Amber clinging to her shoulder. The humanish usually didn’t like it when the eccentric’s mansion “invited her in” like that, but to be fair there didn’t seem to be a lot to do outside. If she and Amber wanted to find anything of interest, they’d have to go indoors. So she glanced around once or twice just to make sure nothing was sneaking up on her before she walked up the porch, her hiking boots clomping loudly on the finely painted wood beneath her.

Sure enough, there was something waiting for her on the porch already. As she stepped up, she noticed a couple of coins and a small crystal. Fiera reached out to grab the crystal, but Amber skittered over to grab the coins, seemingly eager to investigate them. As she did however, there was a sudden movement down from the rafters, swooping down toward Amber. Fiera’s quick reflexes made her reach out and snatch one out of the air. As it screeched and tried to nip her, she realized it was a... tiny dragon of sorts? She didn’t have time to think about it though, as she definitely knew there was a second one here as well, likely putting Amber in danger. “Amber!” She cried in alarm as she saw the harachiu go down, tackled by the other creature. Five seconds into this venture, and they were already being attacked!

The humanish hissed, ready to defend herself and her little friend, only to hear... laughter, instead of screams of fear. “Oh, it tickles!” Amber said happily, falling over. Fiera took a closer look to find that Amber wasn’t being attacked or bitten... instead, the little dragon-like creature seemed to be licking her repeatedly with its forked tongue, similar to how an excited dog would sniff you when it first met you. Fiera loosened her grip on the other one, letting herself relax a bit. They didn’t seem TOO dangerous. The other one, a green and brown striped critter, stopped trying to bite her once she loosened up a bit, instead relaxing in her hand. Huh. They were nicer than she thought. “Okay then, Amber... sometimes little creatures like this can just be taken with us. Here, we can put them in my bag.” She said, dropping her backpack on the wooden porch.

The first little lizard dragon climbed into the first pocket of her bag with ease, curling up against a spare scarf Fiera had brought with her. She gestured to Amber to hand her the second one, but the harachiu seemed hesitant, clutching the blue and purple cliffjumper to her chest. “Uh... I’ll hold on to this one.” She said quietly, trying to sound firm and serious but kind of failing. Fiera’s mouth struggled to not quirk up into a smile. She couldn’t really blame the harachiu, though. Fiera was so used to seeing Amber and her sister, Alice, acting so dreadfully serious that it was nice to see her show affection for something g for once. It was clear she was quite interested in the little animal, even if Fiera knew for a fact that critters that small couldn’t be trained. If she wanted it, she could have it.

And to the little critter’s credit, it was pretty unobtrusive. It curled around Amber’s neck and stayed there, observing the environment placidly so long as it could continue to absorb her body heat. “Ready to go then?” Fiera offered, and Amber nodded once. Fiera placed her hand on the doorknob and pushed. The door opened up into a space that was... far larger than it should have been, but that was usually par the course for the mansion. It was a lavish marble hall, with a luxurious carpet leading off into the distance. Pillars stood on either side, stretching up seemingly endlessly. Fiera looked up, but the ceiling seemed to be covered in clouds, hiding wherever those pillars went: sconces were filled with either lush and green leafy plants or roaring fires were arranged in elegant patterns along the walls, which had dark tunnels leading off to parts unknown.

Fiera was definitely staying where it was well lit for now, though. She knew full well by now that there was never anything good that came from wandering off through long, dark tunnels. Instead she carefully stepped through the threshold, letting Amber and her new pet go ahead before closing the door behind her carefully. From this side, the door was far more ornate, made of pale wood and inlaid gold, carved in the pattern of a rising sun with a dragon flying overhead. Fiera took note- she’d probably need to remember that symbol to get out again. “So, whatcha think?” She said casually, glancing around. “I- it’s amazing! It’s only like this for one month you said, right?” Amber questioned, looking around in awe. “Where does it all go?” Fiera shrugged. “Heck if I know. You can leave, turn around, and come back in two second after midnight and it’ll be something completely different if the month rolls over.”

Fiera was more than happy to stroll down the hall until Amber swept down onto her shoulder and started tugging fiercely on her ear. “Ow, what?” Fiera hissed, flicking her ear away from the harachiu’s grip. Amber slapped a tiny hand over her mouth before pointing behind a nearby pillar. “Oh, shhhit.” Fiera hissed quietly, finally noticing what Amber was pointing out. A large, dark colored creature that looked like it was made out of flicking stars sat beneath one of the lanterns that hung on the wall. It was just... chilling, sitting next to two pocket pets. Had it come out of one of the nearby hallways? It seemed pretty relaxed though, so maybe if Fiera and Amber just... acted casual... “Just be cool.” Fiera said, before sitting down on the carpet across from it. She kept her pose relaxed and didn’t make eye contact with it. She didn’t want to scare it... or induce it to attack.

For the size of the thing, the nebuli was rather docile. It blinked hazily at the newcomer - living in the mansion, it was probably accustomed to seeing people appear and disappear - and lowered its head to rest it on the floor. Nothing to be concerned with.

Fiera was surprised at how relaxed it was. Maybe... it would be easier than they thought to tame this creature. “I’m going to get closer.” Amber said, standing up on Fiera’s shoulder. “Hey, be careful!” Fiera hissed, but the harachiu only started up her wings. “Don’t worry, I have some treats in my bag. It’ll probably go for those first, worst case scenario.” She said, gesturing to the doll’s backpack strapped to her. Fiera was still nervous as the harachiu fluttered up and over to the nebuli before landing and walking closer. At least they didn’t have to worry about intimidating it. “Hi there, pretty thing.” She said, reaching a tiny hand up to the creature’s shoulder in an attempt to pet it. Would it have fur? Skin? Or would her hand go straight through it...? Provided that the nebuli let her touch it at all.

This thing... it was certainly small. The nebuli could've made short work of it, but instead, it simply observes - and doesn't move away. Huh. Is it the latter end of the month draining it of its spirits? It looks like it's perfectly content to be friends.
[Congratulations, you have successfully tamed the creature!]
