In fact, Morgan was worried that if they did go back and go to the gate, grab the stuff, and then immediately try to find the king of evergreen- that he might not even be findable as easily as he was earlier. He seemed to like to play a ton of hide and seek and Morgan did not have time to chase him around the pine copse that was now a goodly distance away in order to find him. Especially not with ready-to-drop berries on his tail like that. Ugh, it was annoying. So Morgan just kept trying to get his attention by waving around the treat in their hand, and waving around another hand, and then speaking at him to try and get his attention. It was not working at all, and Morgan frowned eventually. He was just staring off into the forever, not even paying any attention to Morgan at all.

Morgan finally made an exasperated noise and then reached out with the hand that did not have the treat in it, and immediately grabbed the king of evergreen on his hand, trying to shake it gently to get him to pay attention to Morgan. "Come on, Matsuba. Pay attention, we've got to get to the gate." Morgan said, glad that they were basically alone in their garden and they couldn't be too embarrassed about yapping at the creature. "Come on." Morgan said, pulling him gently along. They made sure that they had to be slow, since he did indeed have to walk leaning heavily on the stick, but now they were back to making more progress again, thank goodness. Morgan made their way to the gate, looking back every once in a while to check for the berries to make sure that they hadn't fallen off anywhere yet.

It was a dang mess, Morgan thought, as they continued to sort of gently drag him along. Eventually, they made it to the gate, though it was with a lot of difficulty. Morgan just about tripped over the stones from earlier; the pretty antiques with neat markings on them, and Morgan cussed every single one of them beneath their breath each time they did so. Morgan was not pleased with it at all, but they were gorgeous and Morgan was still not annoyed enough with them that they were planning on taking them up or anything like that. It was part of the atmosphere here, as far as Morgan was concerned. "Good boyo." Morgan mumbled, when they finally got there. Morgan was so frustrated, and had bruises on their calves at this point, but at the very least they were here, and the berries were still on the tail of the beast.

It had been annoying, but would be worth it once Morgan got ahold of those berries, and of course the items that they needed to start working on the garden to get it up to their own snuff. Morgan opened the gate, expecting someone to be there, while keeping their hand on the shoulder of the king of evergreen to make sure that he didn't go disappear or anything like that like he had earlier, and of course no one was there for some reason. Morgan had no idea about that at all; but then they saw the boxes at the front gate. Ah that made sense, Morgan thought. The courier did not want to waste their time waiting on Morgan, and this was a pretty nice place at all that was out away from most folks, so it wasn't like someone was going to steal a ton of gardening supplies.

Morgan had to take their hand off of the king of evergreen in order to get to the boxes, and bring them into the garden. They also sat the treat down on the ground for him at the same time, hoping that it would keep the king of evergreen here while Morgan began working on other tasks around him. "Okay, you stay here, Matsuba." Morgan said on reflex, knowing that he didn't know how to 'stay' either. Dang, this was going to be a huge mess in fact. However, Morgan needed to get this over with, with the least amount of stress purposefully. Hopefully, the creature wouldn't disappear like he did earlier and make Morgan play hide and seek with him while he still had those berries there... "Alright, now to get to work..." Morgan mumbled, reaching out and trying to open the first box. Eventually they had to remove a box cutter from their pocket.

Luckily for Morgan, who was otherwise paying more attention to the tools in the boxes, Matsuba was far more interested in the treat than he had otherwise been in with the treat. The king of evergreen wasn't especially hungry, but free food was indeed free food. In fact, it was pretty dang good free food so Matsuba was quite fine with that indeed. He bent down slowly, leaning heavily on his stick and nearly fell over, grabbing using his claws at the treat and slipping free a few times since he was just about to fall over and such. Finally, he was able to get the claws into the treat and pick it up, pushing the cane into the ground as he did so and nearly falling. He was finally able to lean up and finally grabbed the treat, bringing it to his mouth with difficulty. Morgan was busy opening up boxes.

Morgan was pleased that all the fertilizer and tools were here now, they really needed these forever ago but now that they were here Morgan was sure that this winter upcoming was going to be an excellent season if Morgan wanted to continue on with this work. It was a busy time of year, and hopefully they would be able to get everything fixed up soon. They glanced back after getting all of the boxes open, to see if the king of evergreen was still standing there, luckily he was. "Great, glad you decided to stick with us, Matsuba." Morgan hadn't seen any of the other creatures in the garden, but then again the king of evergreen had taken all of Morgan's attention as of late since he was laden with berries that Morgan was after. So far, they hadn't had much luck, but they were sure that their luck would turn around eventually.

A strange flower and a single cluster of berries have been produced!

Especially since Morgan had taken botany as a class, they knew that this semi-rare creature should begin producing more eventually, with a lot of work. Morgan wished that they had started a little earlier with trying to ply the creature into a form of the psycho-social bond that would have made all this work much more fruitful, but they were convinced that they were going to make it regardless of how much more work had to be done. Morgan turned around and began putting all the items they needed into piles, knowing that at least for now the king of evergreen was going to stand near them if only because he was eating the treat. Still, those berries were super tempting, and Morgan was super tempted to leap on his tail and just remove them all in one go. With some luck, they kept theirself from doing it despite their somewhat random behavior as of late.

Morgan was more pleased with their continued ability to control their impulsive, far more so than they should have been actually. However, under the circumstances Morgan was not entirely wrong to be excited about it because the entire aspect of being a chaos elemental made everything super hard to control impulse-wise. However, Morgan could not wait until the creature dropped the berries. It was really frustrating, them being just right there and them being unable to just grab them. However, it didn't take long for Morgan to really throw theirself into switching the items into each of the boxes in order to get them settled out. They were going to take some of them to the small shed for them that was clean, dry, and new, in order to make sure that they were taken care of. However, they were going to take the other ones and start working some of the ground with them.

Morgan was going to build a hutch here soon too, or really, more like a dog run, in order to make sure that the garden pets were kept in a place that Morgan could control more easily. The Garden was a HUGE area, and it was just about too big to just let them run around in for the most part. Maybe Muninn could stay out, he was quite huge... Morgan wanted to do most of the work theirself. They didn't study architecture for nothing, after all. After getting all of the items separated out, Morgan turned out to look over at the king of evergreen. "Oh good, you're still there." Morgan said, not quite sure that they had said it out loud until the creature slowly but surely looked up and blinked at them with those emerald liquid eyes. "Yup, good boyo Matsuba." Morgan said, anyway.

It was coming high time that Morgan train this little mess, anyway. They really needed to get the garden all fixed up to make sure that it was properly producing by the time the snow started to fall and the winter set in, especially since the Labs was famous for it's winter produce. Morgan was quite excited for winter produce; there was so much of it that had great culinary uses and Morgan did not want to miss out on fresh squash, for example! Morgan reached out and patted Matsuba on the head anyway. "Alright, now to get you to come to the shed with me... I know y-you don't know anything yet, but maybe, just maybe you'll follow m-me with a treat again." He may not know the commands at all, but his psycho-social bond was becoming good enough and strong enough that he was slowly trying to be more attentive at least.

Morgan pulled another treat out of the satchel they had brought, and held it out, waving it a bit at the creature. He seemed much less interested at the moment than he did before, and Morgan was already cussing below their breath about it. "Okay, come on now..." Morgan said, knowing he didn't understand it at all, and backing up at the same time. They dragged the box along with them using their off hand, and walked back, turning back and forth to check where they were going and also to keep an eye on Matsuba. He refused to follow, but also didn't really stay very far away either. Thankfully the shed was not too far away and Morgan wasn't going to have to worry about it for long. They finally made their way to the shed, and the king of evergreen stood outside, sniffing around the area a bit.

The shed itself was pristine, a gorgeous black walnut work of polished wood on both sides, completely made with wood that was built with tongue and groove joints instead of nails that could cause issues in the future. The walls were lined with shelving and areas for holding specific tools. Morgan was already quite proud of it; it was built excellently. Morgan was a huge fan of excellent architecture, even if it was something as normal and uninteresting as a shed. They also enjoyed seeing orderliness, and there was nothing more orderly than a new shed. Morgan dragged the box onto the one step, and then pulled out the first few tools that wouldn't be used today, carefully putting them on the wall and then labeling the area carefully with their label burner, that way they would always know where everything was. They could see Matsuba standing outside, looking in to the shed.

As soon as Morgan gets done with this, Morgan decides, they were going to go ahead and start training Matsuba before getting to work on the garden itself. It was important to begin working on these things soon with him, anyway. Morgan continued working on the tools, making sure that they were in the correct places. Finally, after a lot of work, everything was carefully in place and the place was so pristine still. Morgan took a deep breath and then breathed out, the new scent of fresh walnut wood. It was nice, in fact. "Alright, e-everything looks good. Got it." Morgan said. Now they could get those boxes put in the compost pile, since they were cardboard they would biodegrade easily enough, especially since Morgan always had their scraps though couldn't be used brought here for composting. The compost pile had been working for quite a while, actually.
