The Koguma was overjoyed to see that she had another flower to offer. It quickly gulped down the remaining petals from the first one and grabbed the second one, only to shove it right into its mouth. It would be quite a shame if it was a beautiful flower, because it totally destroyed it and didn't even stop to favor it. Ah well. Whatever the case, the Koguma did seem to be warming up to her!
[Congrats! You've tamed the Koguma!]

Amber seemed thrilled as the koguma happily munched on the flowers some more. "Oh, sweet! This is WAY better than doodling some flowers!" She said to herself with a laugh. Fiera sighed. "This means we're keeping it, doesn't it." "Oh, absolutely. One hundred percent. This specimen is vital for my research." She said, tamping down on her raw enthusiasm again. Fiera wished she would keep it up, but she couldn't really argue with a grown adult- or at least, not one who she was trying to stay on good terms with and encourage. Ugh. Having to be polite to people was the WORST. "Fine then." Fiera said with a beleaguered sigh. "We can do what you want, then. But that means we have to cut this little trip short to get it home again." She said, looking at Amber pointedly as the koguma chewed on its little prize. It was up to her.

The harachiu glanced back and forth between the koguma, the flower field, and her bag. "Ah... well... a living subject is always better than a plant subject." She said in a tone of voice she no doubt hoped was scientific. Fiera resisted the urge to point out that plants WERE living subjects, which would probably just earn her a tiny cuff around the ears. "Alrighty then! Right this way, Amber." She said, waving the fairy over. Amber picked up another flower and flew up, holding it in front of the koguma. Sure enough, the larger creature followed, hopping along after the offered blossom. In that way, it was relatively easy to get it to leave the gardens, trotting after Fiera and Amber. From there they made the long walk back home. Fiera couldn't say that they got a LOT of gardening done today, but Amber seemed pleased with it... and that was all Fiera really cared about right now.

It wasn't too long until Fiera returned to the gardens, however. One of her houluh, Oasis, hadn't been out in a while and the humanish couldn't resist the opportunity to get to know her a bit better. That, and she really needed to take care of her garden some more. In the heat of summer all of her plants had grown tall and strong, but that meant that she needed to cut them back now before they ate up all their nutrients, which would make them wither away to thin and weedy things next year. So she'd need to cut those down to size if she wanted to keep her garden healthy. Speaking of garden healthiness, she wanted to check on how her crops were coming along as well, whether they were healthy or needed treatment of some sort. She had brought along various bottles of plant medicines just in case.

Not that she really knew how to USE those plant medicines mind you, but she was sure she'd figure it out as it came to it. She and Oasis were getting close to the garden now- she could tell because the houluh had perked up and started sniffing at the air. If there was one thing that Fiera liked about Oasis it was that she had a tendency to pay attention to details. Every step she took along the crushed stone path was well chosen and secure, despite her young age. All of the young houluh that Fiera had known had long, floppy ears that Fiera was amazed they didn't trip on them. And yet for Oasis she somehow couldn't imagine that happening, for all her composure. She always kept an eye on the treeline too, keeping a peep on for any potential danger- though Fiera doubted they'd be in any danger now.

The gardens were always perfectly calm. As part of some initiative or another, the labs had set aside these plots of land for its citizens to cultivate, and Fiera had built up hers to the fullest. That meant that this entire corner of the city was pretty much just individualized, glorified farmland however. Any dangerous creatures had long since been eradicated, leaving mere friendly pollinators and rambunctious plant eaters... or just straight up moving plants. There wasn't much of a difference between plants and animals for many of the labs' creatures, as it stood. Fiera had a living tree in her kennels, after all. Serkan, lovely nyssa. She meant to enter him in a tournament one of these days, but she hadn't had much of an opportunity to do it. She bet if she let Oasis run around him though, they'd get along swimmingly. She'd have to set that up one of these days.

Still, if Oasis wasn't smelling anything dangerous, maybe it was Fiera's scent she was picking up on? There was no doubt some of it strewn around her garden, but it would have to be plenty old by this point. Even though Fiera was there pretty frequently (in fact she had been there just a few days ago with one of her harachiu, Amber), it was such a big plot of land that she usually didn't touch with her bare hands. Could she really pick up her scent that well? If she was, Fiera would be highly impressed- maybe it would be worth her while to train Oasis as a tracking houluh. However, there could be other explanations. She could always just be picking up on a juicy bunana that was growing just within the garden boundaries. (Not that Fiera would ever purposefully feed one of those to her houluh, of course.)

Yeah, Fiera was pretty sure only orbaru were supposed to eat bunanas- not that it stopped most of her pups from trying. There was a reason Fiera tried to avoid bringing her houluh to the gardens if she could avoid it. Far too many opportunities for them to poison themselves. Oasis however, seemed... not quite RESPONSIBLE, but certainly a lot calmer than other houluh her age. She didn't have that mouth fixation that many other houluh did too- her adult teeth came in early, and thus she had managed to avoid much of the unpleasant chewing habits that Fiera had to deal with in her kin. Because of this, Fiera figured that she could leave the pup alone for a bit in the gardens while the humanish worked to maintain her little eden. Finally, they arrived at the gate to Fiera's garden. "You ready, Oasis?" She said, reaching for the latch.

Fiera quickly undid the latch, letting it clatter to the side of the fence before stepping inside. The first thing she saw though was JSUT what she was talking about with these bunanas. "Oh, gross." She said, picking it up. It was a pink coloration with deep purple spots all over it. Was it rotten? She couldn't really tell with these things, seeing how they came in all sorts of colors. This one LOOKED rotten on first glance though, and she certainly didn't want her houluh pup getting into it. On second glance though, it... didn't look too bad? As she examined it she realized that the spots didn't have a different texture to the rest of the bunana, and the whole fruit was shiny, plump, and whole. It actually looked perfectly healthy... maybe the spots were supposed to be there? "Well, I'm still not letting Oasis eat it." Fiera said to herself.

She dropped her backpack briefly while Oasis sniffed around, still keeping the houluh on a short leash while she unzipped it. Normally she didn't have to put anything away QUITE this early, but this was a nice find. She slipped the bunana into a well padded outer pocket and gave it one last check over for insects before zipping up the pack again. She swung it around onto her back, ready to face the day. "Okay Oasis, ready? Let's find somewhere to work." She said, and started trekking through her garden. Much of the area in front, with her initial gravel path lined by trees was already well maintained. This was mostly because when Fiera first got in here, she would always see what was wrong right off the bat and try and fix that first, resulting in her spending way more time than she should have been on these trees.

Now that they were pristine however, the humanish could walk through this part of the glen without it pulling on her too much, and hopefully once she got some momentum she could move on to the parts of the garden she was thinking of the most. Specifically, she wanted to work on a vegetable patch not far from here. She had planted some winter gourds and pumpkins that should be growing well by now, and she could likely turn a decent profit on them... provided that they were growing right. Fiera knew that there were plenty of pests around here however, so she'd need to keep her eyes peeled for any signs of damage to them to see if she needed to take some... let's say preventative measures to keep it from happening again. The relatively open patch, fre eof line of sight blocking obstacles, would help her keep an eye on Oasis as well.

Oasis was generally well behaved of course, but Fiera knew that you should never take your changes with young houluh. She was still a puppy after all, and was as prone to curiosity and wandering off as anything else. That being said though, Fiera had other reasons for wanting to visit the vegetable patch as well. There were no doubt a ton of weeds by this point, as herbicides would only do so much. You didn't want to overapply either, if you wanted what you were growing to still remain viable for human (or other species) consumption. So she'd have to get in there and harvest it herself by hand and hope for the best. She brought several garbage bags for this purpose, tucked into a pocket of her backpack. Weeding always created a glut of plants that she didn't want or need, all piled up in a big lump.

Needless to say, keeping them cleaned up and organized was a major concern of hers, hence the garbage bags. Fiera's meandering thoughts about weeds and garbage bags had served her well however, as she looked up to realize that she had been moving at a decent clip through her garden. Oasis trotted along ahead of her happily, barely even pulling on the leash as small fruit trees passed on either side of them. Glancing at the flowers and round berries that were just starting to form on them, Fiera realized that they must be getting close to her veggie patch soon. "Good, the sooner the better." Fiera said under her breath. She didn't have a ton of time to spare today, and the quicker she could get this all done, the better. After all, she had a huge mess of work to get done and didn't want to spend ages on this one task.
