She tromped back down the path to the pond with Sebros following along beside her. The worginu was being surprisingly well behaved. Perhaps it was because the long walk had calmed his nerves from the scuffle with the lotine, but he definitely seemed to be in a better mood now. Perhaps that last koguma had taught him that not EVERYTHING out here was out to get him. Some creatures were mean, some were cautious, and some were huge doofuses that jumped on your butt when you weren't looking because they thought you were grass. It took all types, and Sebros had just met quite a few of them. "Let's hope for... a few LESS now, eh Sebros?" Fiera said as she looked over the pond again. Right. That branch. She took a deep breath and approached the edge of the pond again, raising up her rake once more. Maybe she'd get to use it this time.

She leaned out over the water and brushed it against the branch. So far so good. She hooked it around some of the smaller sticks, away from the main bulk, and tried dragging it over to her. It didn't want to move at first. It was no doubt stuck in the sludge at the bottom of the pond. But Fiera wouldn't relent and slowly but surely yanked it over to her side, finally getting it to the point where the humanish could grasp one of the dryer branches and haul it up on the shore with her. "Finally!" She exhaled, throwing it to the side. That was the only big one she saw- the rest had probably sunk to the bottom, which meant they weren't her problem anymore. The pond scum wasn't as bad as she thought either- it likely wouldn't take her long to clean it up. And maybe then she could be done for the day.

Within the sticks, a lone flower lays, slowly wilting... [You've found an egg! You'd better take it home and take care of it!]

Fiera had returned to the gardens with Sasha, her little stomper fossil creature. It was an interesting time of year to be sure in the gardens. The air had finally turned crisp and windy. The heat of summer hadn't quite faded from the world yet, but it was clear to anyone that it was on its way out, gently tipping its hat and making its final bows to the audience before leaving the building until next spring. The trees and animals had taken note of these changes as well, slowly making their own exit from the theater. The birds had begun to fly south, with waterfowl growing less and less common in the waterways (a fact that Fiera was quite happy about. Nobody liked trying to fight a goose for dominance, though she won every time.). The leaves on the trees were beginning to yellow and grow increasingly shaky on their moorings.

It wouldn't be long until they were spiralling down to the ground, bunching up in heaps around Fiera's feet. And then she would have to begrudgingly get out her rake and clean them up, complaining the whole time and hissing through clenched teeth. But thankfully, not yet- she could squeak in some harvesting under the wire and go "Oh darn, guess I can't clean up leaves today! For there are no leaves to be raked!" And then, presumably, she would turn around and observe the leafless ground for emphasis. Then she would scamper off home and procrastinate endlessly until she couldn't avoid the raking anymore. That's what she did any other time she was coming up on some sort of seasonal milestone, after all. Of course, the lack of leaves didn't means he didn't have any tasks to do at all today, however. There was still plenty to work on.

After all, it was peak harvest season in her gardens right now, and her vegetable gardens were absolutely bursting at the brim with fresh produce. Or at least, they were when she had last checked on them a couple weeks ago. At that point the gourds had still been small and green, completely unfit for harvesting. She knew they would grow rapidly however, and that the scant few peppers, beans, and zucchini that she had found on the vines would soon be overflowing with things to eat. Not that she would necessarily be the one eating them, but she was sure she would be able to find SOMEBODY she could foist them off on for a bit of money. Fiera was very good at that sort of thing, after all. She was a shrewd businessman and- in her opinion- completely beautiful to boot. She chuckled as she trotted down the path.

Of course, that meant that she had to harvest it still. She huffed a bit at the thought of that. Gardening had lovely bounties, but all of the hard work that came with it wasn't nearly as pleasant. Still, maybe her little companion would be able to help a bit. She glanced back at Sasha, who was trotting after her and looking up at the humanish with wide, innocent eyes. She had quite a sturdy structure after all- perhaps she'd be able to dig up plants like a swine hunting for truffles. The similiarities to swine stopped there entirely of course- not even her color scheme resembled them- but she was sure the little fossil beast would be at least SOMEWHAT useful. Who knew what they'd be able to come up with together. And even then, Fiera knew that this trip would be a success if just for spending time with her.

Despite being a squat little reptile, the entire vibe Fiera was getting off of Sasha was one of the most innocent lamb. Her eyes were wide and bright, green like the fresh and new leaves of spring poking through snow. She practically pranced after Fiera with delicate little steps as if constantly excited to see where their journey would bring them next. Every so often she would seem to get a burst of energy and would prance around her as well as her stubby little legs could manage. Fiera wasn't sure if such a creature could ever step lightly, but she certainly seemed to try. Fiera couldn't help but be charmed by her efforts, as clumsy as they were. And who knew- perhaps someday she would grow up into a much more graceful beast. Right now though, it appeared as if all four of her feet happened to be left ones.

Even her colors were bright and angelic. Her body was a light, delicate blue with deep indigo splotches and stripes upon her back. Her belly was a powdery white, with her little scales glimmering with iridescence in the morning October light. With Sasha being so chipper however, it was difficult for Fiera to be grumpy at the prospect of the hard work she would have to do today. It didn't take her too long to get through the front gate of the garden, leading Sasha in behind her on her little lead. It was quite small and delicate, but thankfully the young reptile wasn't strong enough yet to pull through it and break it. In fact, the very concept of doing such a thing didn't seem to have occurred to her yet, which Fiera was endlessly grateful for. Instead, she just trotted along behind her owner obediently, gazing up with her green eyes.

It was as if nothing else was important to her but Fiera's approval... or maybe the fossil critter just liked the look of her face. Either way, Fiera could feel her digging holes into the back of her head with her gaze as she walked. Even though the young creature was sweet and innocent, Fiera had to admit that it still got a bit creepy after a while. Didn't she have anything else to do? Still, it didn't take too long for the humanish to pass between the bushes that hid her storage shed. The foliage had already receded a bit from its summer heights, making it easy for Fiera to pass herself and Sasha through the cleverly hidden gap. The storage shed was nothing much to look at, however. No doubt it would be a disappointing sight to anyone who thought they had discovered a secret area of the gardens.

To Fiera however, it meant a lot. After all, this is where most of her tools were kept including something that she hadn't used since the LAST harvest season. "Come here, you old bastard..." She muttered at her wheelbarrow. It was a frightfully rusty affair, with a squeaky wheel and handles that she didn't dare touch without gloves (which she was pulling on at that very moment, nice and thick ones to deal with the dying plants). She pulled it back, letting it screech to life as it shook off half a year's worth of dust from its wheel. Sasha leapt away briefly, stumbling onto her side as she tried to get away. Clumsy creature. Still, she had never seen anything like this before- it was no wonder that it had spooked her a bit. "Believe me, you'll get PLENTY of experience with it soon." Fiera said, patting it gently.

The wheelbarrow was, of course, what she used to hold the vegetables she harvested each year. She wasn't much for organization. She pretty much just tossed them all in there and sorted it out once she got somewhere more comfortable than the middle of a (quite tame) forest. And yet, for now... "Hey Sasha, come here baby." She said, reaching out toward the little blue creature. She snuffled softly as Fiera lifted her up. The young critter was a lot softer and warmer than she thought she would be. Instead of hard, defensive scales, the only really tough parts were the tiny plates on her back. Everything else was covered in soft, leathery scales like a snake. And she was surprisingly warm too- Fiera realized now that she was likely warm-blooded instead of a simple reptile like she thought. Sasha held quite still through all of this- clearly just enjoying being held.

Fiera didn't hold her for too long however, and almost immediately set her back down inside the wheelbarrow. "There!" The humanish chirped. "Isn't that much better than walking?" She said. Sasha moved as if she meant to get up for a moment, but settled back down once Fiera started moving the wheelbarrow. She propped up the front end by pressing down on the handles. Sasha settled down and curled up, peeking curiously over the side of the barrow. Fiera chuckled and began to walk, passing the wheelbarrow back through the gap in the bushes and emerging onto the main path through her gardens. From there, the trek was neither long nor unpleasant. It only took a few minutes for the pair of them to get to her vegetable garden, which was indeed just as lush and beautiful as she thought it would be. Fiera couldn't help but puff out her chest in pride.

Amongst the lush landscape of gardening, another visitor steps carefully along the plants, having wandered from a nearby patch of wildland, tempted by the scene of growing-vegetation and greenery. Quietly stepping over individual plants, the girl sniffs & carefully nibbles along some of the larger pieces of green foliage. Despite the sounds of garden tools & any particularly squeaky hinges, it takes a good long moment before the doe lifts its head to gaze. Big eyes blinking calmly; placidly, cautiously, aware. Seems this creature doesn't mind the presence of sentient beings, considering the Galabex grazes just a few yards away!

To her surprise, there was something already here- a bizarre looking galabex, feeding on the tender leaves of her pumpkins. Fiera resisted the urge to shout- she had heard that there were strange creatures wandering the gardens this time of month. That was the nature of vai min mur, after all- always something strange popping up. This galabex was no exception, looking more like a rabbit than any hooved creature. Its fur certainly matched the season however, dappled with shades of red and black. A strange creature to be sure, but the humanish was hardly afraid of it. It took her very little time to approach it and try to catch it, and as it turned out it was more docile than its color scheme implied. It didn't take long at all for her to get a loop around its neck and lead it back to her kennels before returning.
