They searched for awhile until they found another little area for a moment. Jack sighed again and shook her head, she didn't know what to do with things right now, what was going to happen if she couldn't find anything while training Arvest in a bit anyway? Ugh, this was frustrating, but what was going to happen to her and Arvest in the meantime? Irritated, the woman tossed her gear lightly on the ground near another boulder and then tossed herself down next to it. She didn't like not getting anything, she knew, and that was fine by her, but... it still bothered her a little more than it probably should at the same time. Ruffling her hair a little, she tossed a treat to Arvest after a moment and then shook her head and started to fix up her lines again on the fishing pole. This would work, she just needed a new area.

Tossing her line into the river, she watched as Arvest waded after it for a moment before yelping and running back over to her, shaking off his paws. She laughed, the water was turning cold and it had given him a bit of a chill it seemed, which would be alright, he wouldn't get sick from some damp paws. Pushing back her hair, she rubbed his head a little and then smiled as she hoped things would work out for them, they always seemed to, but... that didn't mean they always would. Sure her animals tolerated her after awhile, but still, whatever was going to happen right now anyway? She watched the bobber go up and down on the waves and sighed a little, glancing over at Arvest again. This was fine, she knew, and she hoped that he was going to be alright in the end. Maybe she should dry him off...

She stood up and stretched out a little before digging a towel out of her bag and popping her shoulders a little. Well, she might as well start, "Come here Arvest." The puppy ran over to her as fast as his little legs would take him and she pulled him into her lap. Smiling, she started to dry him off, just in case when it all came down to it. She didn't want him to get a chill, she knew, and she didn't want to train a sick puppy. Jack figured it wouldn't go well for anyone that way, which wasn't the point of all of this. The fishing rod was still dipped into the water, or at least the line was, and the woman smiled a little as she thought of what they could find in the meantime. Hopefully this would better spot for this fishing and all that at the moment.

Arvest shook himself off when she was done fixing his fur and drying him off, and she hoped that he would do well from now on and learn to stay away from the water while he was still just a puppy. Jack had a good idea that things were going to be alright no matter what, and she smiled at him as he ran off for a little while. Shoving her hand through her hair, she smiled a little as she thought about it for now and all that. Whatever was she going to do if she couldn't catch anything? Her eyes took in the ground for a few moments as Arvest sniffed around too, and she wondered if they could find a few shells and plants and things around the area if she tried and all that. It was alright, she knew, and the woman sighed a little, wishing there was something.

It would be alright if they didn't find anything, of course, but she preferred if she did after all. Frowning, she just hoped that it would work out in the long run and all that. Whatever could she do in the end of everything if she couldn't find a single damn thing? Jack scowled and shook her head, fishing was the hardest part of it all, she knew, the place that took the most skill and agility as she figured out that she wasn't going to get this done at all. Hopefully Arvest would find something and then they could start on his training, but they had to find something first, after all! Anything, really, would be fine at this point, she knew. As she watched him flop around a little bit on the beach of the river, she hoped that he could stay young and youthful forever, though she bet it wouldn't come to that.

Arvest hopped around as the woman tried to figure out what was going wrong with her lures and everything. Maybe she would actually use some bait this time, she figured with a little smile on her face. It couldn't hurt at least, right? Shaking her head, she hoped that everything would go well for them, and that they might actually find something good, but she wasn't going to bank on it too much, she figured with a chuckle. Hey, it was the wet season still, things should be plentiful, but they just weren't. It was distressing and upsetting, but there wasn't much she could do on that at the moment. Rubbing the back of her head, she hoped that everything would be alright in the end, and that she wasn't going to have to deal with things much longer. It was fine, she would start training Arvest up here pretty soon and all.

It wasn't like she could drop everything at the drop of a hat and get things going, she couldn't just lure fish to her line or anything without bait. That was the issue, and the woman scowled a little when she looked at her line and nothing was there. That was the worst part of fishing, it took the longest to get anything, and sometimes it wasn't even worth it when you did get something. She flopped onto her back and stared at the dark clouds in the sky. Hopefully it would start raining after they were gone, but... she didn't think she would get that lucky. Arvest would get wet again and it would all be a disaster, but that was alright, she was nothing if not flexible, she figured with a grimace. Jack sighed to herself a little, unsure of what to do at the moment. It wasn't time to train just yet...

It was almost time to train, she had to give herself that much satisfaction she figured with a little smile on her face. There wasn't much she could do about it after all, but they had to find something before the training could really start, she figured with a short nod. Jack stood back up and stretched out her shoulders and back, feeling a little iffy from the rest of the day. At least it was almost raining and it was slowly getting darker, their training would have to wait until tomorrow maybe, at least until she could get a little work in with the puppy. Maybe he should grow again before they started up again, but that was something she wasn't going to worry about just yet and all that. Hopefully she could get something good with things, hopefully she could get some good fish in sooner, rather than later.

Jack didn't know what Arvest was up to at the moment, but he was barking at the water. She frowned and looked in after him and saw something glittering in the water. Great, now she would have to go in and get it and get all wet. Well, if it was going to start raining, she had better get used to it, she supposed. Tugging on her clog boots, she growled a little and waded into the water before she picked it up and took it back to the shore. Arvest ran over to her, his tail wagging rapidly, and barked at her, pawing at the thing in her hand a little. "Okay, okay Arvest, calm down," she muttered as she wiped the sand off of it. It was a black pearl... Some people thought they were the height of sophistication. Some people thought they were cursed. She didn't know where she stood on the thought.

While not quite a shell, it would still serve to train up Arvest a little in finding shells, she believed with a little smile on her face. Hopefully they could get this done and over with and then they could go do his show after a bath or something. Maybe in the morning... that might be best. However, she wasn't really sure, and the woman sighed a bit as she tried to figure it out. Whatever, she thought as she cleaned it up in the water and then tossed it into her bag, they could start on it soon enough, she wanted to find one more... She looked around a little and then remembered what she was going to do. Grinning, she tied some fish to the line and then re-cast the hook and line out into the river again. Hopefully this would work out, because if not, she didn't know what to do. [50 Jack: 5/20 Arvest: 9 5/5; 18 5/5 +]

[Arvest: Get (Shell) - 1]
Jack stretched a little and then patted Arvest on the back again before she dug the pearl out of her bag once more. Grinning, she placed it on the sand and then found another shell next to it. It was one she had found several times before, so she might as well work with it for now, right? ”Arvest, get the shell!” she told him, pointing to the shell on the ground in front of him. He pawed at it a little and then barked at it before going down on his front paws and wagging his tail from side to side. Jack laughed and let him nab the shell, ”Good get the shell!” She tossed him a treat and patted him on the head, confusing him greatly. This was alright though, she knew it was a rough one and she hoped that this would work on the Houluh no matter what happened to them. So far so good though!

[Arvest: Get (Shell) – 2]
After she wrestled the shell out of Arvest’s mouth, thank goodness she was so much bigger than him still, she set it on the ground and pointed at the two shells, well one shell and one pearl. ”Get the shell Arvest!” she told him, and the puppy picked up the shell and pranced around with it for a little while as she chuckled. Well this would be fine, she knew, but he had to see the difference between shells and other things as well. He was a quick little learner, and she smiled a little for the moment to see what she could find around the area to differentiate the things in front of him. Maybe some plants, she could pull some from the river and call it good for now, she figured with a little smile on her face. As she pushed her hair back, she wondered what was going to happen at the moment, and she shook her head, as long as he was learning, it would be fine.

[Arvest: Get (Shell) – 3]
Learning came easily to the pup, it would seem, and the woman took the shell back from him to put it on the sand once more. Jack pushed her hair back and started to pull some plants from the river. With one eye on the shell, she tested him again, ”Get the shell, Arvest!” The puppy scooped up the shell and beamed at the woman as he trotted around with it. That was the easy part, now came the hard part, and the woman put a plant down next to the shell and told him again, ”Get the shell!” Arvest tilted his head and then gently took the plant in his mouth, taking it over to her with a questioning look. ”No, Arvest, get the shell!” she told him, taking the plant away. He stared at her for a moment before walking back over to the shell and tentatively picking it up and bringing it to her. She gave him another treat.
