Current Quest
After having agreed to take the quest from the elderly lady Nalia Greenheart, she had gone back to the kennel only long enough to package everything she thinks she might need for this mission, and bring along some supplies for the two companions she brought with her. She knows there is at least a small chance that Taka might remember the Nyssa, and could help her in tracking down the creature should its tracks be hard to find, and Solis she brought along more in the hopes of bonding even better with her. For all the quests she has brought along the pseudo wolf, there is still plenty to learn about her and what she is actually like. That she still hasn’t said anything that even resembles human speech or other sounds from nature might have to do with it as well. ‘ At least they seem to somewhat get along. No growling or barking against each other.’ she couldn’t help but notice throughout the whole walk to Nalia’s garden. Eyeing each other with wariness yes, sometimes pulling up a lip in a grimace while looking at each other, or along the paved path they followed and looking with slight curiosity at the different types of gardens they pass.

She already has seen (much to her surprise as she remembers vaguely that the elderly lady said something about the other gardens being abandoned more than a couple months ago when she first came here) that most garden lots here seem to be the type that grows flower to be used for selling them, or herbs that might be with a similar goal in mind with how many of the same type are grown together. Though she has yet to see any gardens that specialize in fruits or vegetables, something she would have guessed that the Nyssa would have been after. “Arf!” A short bark from Taka brought her out of her musing, enough to see that they are at the right garden when there is a small sign close to the door of the fence with in a spiderlike script ‘Greenheart’s Bonsai Garden’ written on wood. The fence itself is just about as tall as she is, and made of metal, its spires jutting out of the ground in a sharp needle like fashion while there are about three rows of horizontal lined metal entwined with it, and chicken wire on the inside of the garden. Likely to keep out small mammals that have no place in this garden. “Thanks Taka.” She says while petting the red fur on her side, sometimes feeling the scales underneath it. Though when she hears something scurrying away from them, a small creature she couldn’t identify with how quickly it started hiding, she feels like it might have been more on accident that she did it. A low growl from Solis made her look in the pseudo wolf’s direction, though she can already see what exactly Solis is looking at, she notes the eyes are more narrowed, the lips pulled up and showing a hint of teeth more than normal.

‘Jealous huh?’ She frowns lightly at that when she gets a flash of heightened feelings back as well, she hadn’t expected that of Solis. With how tightly the bonds are between them she should have felt more secure in life on what her position by her side is, and not feel like it is in jeopardy somehow. Stopping the petting motion on Taka’s flank made Solis stop with growling at least, while Taka huffs in disappointment. “Don’t worry Solis, you’re not getting replaced.” She grins at the pseudo wolf, turning her attention to the gate, she is quick to take out of her pocket the key she was given for this quest just in case she needs to use the door. Which with all the new garden lots that have come compared to last time certainly makes it that yes, she does need it, and is thankful it was given to her. Opening the gate, and stepping inside the garden on the paved path that is large enough for Solis and Taka to walk on, she doesn’t see the destruction that lady Nalia was talking about yet, but as some rather large potted bonsai’s are blocking her sight of what is going on, or just how bad it is. She at least she doesn’t hear things getting smashed, so either past those potted tree’s it might be sleeping, or left already.

When both Taka and Solis entered the garden without any prompting from her, and they both sniffed at the plants and path they are standing on, she closed the gate after taking out the key. But didn’t lock it from the other side. If they do end up needing to run, it wouldn’t do to have their exit be blocked, and needing those precious few seconds to unlock it. Tugging lightly on Taka’s leash, she followed the stone paved path till they reached the bend that would allow her to go deeper inside it. And when they reached it, she felt a shiver go through her spine as she could, after a few meters in, easily see just how much has been destroyed by the Nyssa. Potted plants smashed, those few crystals that where taken last time, lay shattered on the path at some parts, and she takes care to guide both Taka and Solis away from the sharp crystal glass. Knowing that the sole of their paws could get sliced open from it by carelessly stepping on it. Since Solis seemed to spend looking mostly in the right direction while they walk, she tended to look more in the left or middle while keeping track of what Solis is seeing thanks to the link they share with each other.

The convenience of it being that it hardly took all that long to find the tracks that the Nyssa left behind, for something that huge would have been easy to spot if it was still in the garden, especially with what she remembers that its size was. “She wasn’t kidding in saying it is going through the other gardens as well.” She says while looking at Solis when she noticed that she is staring at her, ears perked up in her direction. Likely wondering what exactly they are going to do about it right now. The path of destruction, and the direction the Nyssa is heading towards seems pretty clear. It came first through this garden with the way she can see the gate is bend directly across from her, and then took a left turn where it broke into another garden after likely not finding what it is looking for. “Grrr.” She hears Taka growl as her head is lowered to the ground and taking in the scent of the large foot print that the Nyssa left behind. Making her wonder if Taka might remember the scent from last time, she certainly looked more wary then interested in her surrounding compared to before.

“Let’s go further.” She murmurs softly, tugging lightly on Taka’s leash to get her attention, and following the path of destruction slowly as she needs to focus more on what she herself is seeing, and not confusing it with Solis sight as she too follows after them quietly, ears flattened slightly but still curious at the sighs before her. ‘Hopefully lady Nalia can recover from the loss, but with how much is destroyed..’ It felt like a disaster zone, a lot of what must be her prized bonsai (if the way their pots are so delicate but refined looking with the decoration that is painted on it) seem to be swept aside in one direction. Almost like an arm or tail whipped into one direction without care, and left just as soon after it is done. The large foot prints make it seem that it did stand in one position for a time, maybe looking around without moving much, but then left further when it couldn’t find whatever it might have come for. She doesn’t think that a creature that is intelligent enough to accept trading its stolen item for something else when she tried handling it without a fight months ago with her last quest, would act without some sort of reason like this. The next garden they entered is from what she can tell different types of herbs, with a few sections being ripped apart, plants chewed on and then spit out when it didn’t seem to be what it wanted to eat. The foot prints at least are still easy enough to see, as the plants are squished on the parts where it walked when there was no paved path. Which is actually smaller than the previous garden, so her two companions more often than not, are walking off the path with how big they themselves are. At least, with how much of the plants here are low to the ground, with the highest being at her chest, its easy to see no Nyssa or suspiciously large trees is in here. In fact, when they walked more quicker and easier through this garden to reach the destroyed gate leading to the next one as she didn’t need to worry for them hurting their paws. She only needs to make sure Solis isn’t hanging back too much from them when she seems to get curious about a particular scent that a few herbs have, and wanting to dig in the ground close to it.

“Solis!” Saying it in a sharp enough tone seems to at least make the pseudo wolf aware that she is getting left behind, though she should have realized that already if she focused more on what her own sight is seeing. Giving a small smile at Solis when she joins them and walks just behind Taka, but they both start sneezing when Taka hits her tail against Solis nose repeatedly when wagging with it (and she feels the phantom touches from it as well when Taka did that), made Solis more inclined to fall behind again a moment or two later. Turning her attention back to where they are going, she couldn’t really blame Solis all that much with getting distracted. Certain scents of the herbs growing here are particularly strong even to her own nose, and with their sense of smell being even better, she couldn’t blame them with getting distracted. Its only because Taka is on a leash that she thinks that makes it Taka isn’t following the same type of behavior as Solis is doing. She can easily when focusing on where they are going see the end of this garden by how the iron fence is thorn out, and leading towards one where the person really likes growing all sorts of different flowers, or what is left of them. Coming closer she can tell a lot of them are flattened and destroyed sadly with how many foot prints are visible.

“Not much has been ripped up here.. just squished.. a lot.” She notes while hoping over part of the fence that is laying on the ground, prompting Taka to do the same with a small huff of annoyance as the leash isn’t all that long. Solis just goes around it, and with careful steps, doesn’t even need to touch part of the gate to get through it. With one look at the large garden they entered, she can already tell the Nyssa isn’t going to be found here when most of the flowers and the bushes grown here at the parts that are still unharmed grow maybe a bit below the one and a half meter. Even if the Nyssa would be laying down it would have still been too tall to stay inconspicuous. “The flowers that aren’t squished here look quite pretty though.” She actually feels tempted to pluck a small pink flower from one of the clusters that weren’t flattened in between the footprints of the Nyssa. She wasn’t sure what type it could be, but it has at the tips just a bit of white, and a slight dotty pattern of purple in the middle.
”Rrr?” Taka pushes her with the snout when she stayed at the spot, she’d only sniffed once at the flowers to see what interested her so much, but when that didn’t give her much of a clue, she just wanted to follow the path of destruction. Curious to see what exactly might be at the end. Something is tugging at her memories, but she doesn’t exactly know what it might be.

“Right, right, we’re going now.” She hears her human say, finally continuing with tracking down whatever is leaving behind such a mess. Giving a look at the white wolf, she barks at them to move on as well when they started lagging behind. Getting a questioning look from her human that she pretended not to see. They seem just as interested as the human in the different flowers and with some, their particular strong scents that are growing here, but she has a feeling that this scent of maple wood that is rotting and has a dash of cinnamon in it for some strange reason, is something a lot more concerning when it has so far been everywhere. And then those smashed boundary markings people use for their territories. Whoever or whatever is doing it will no doubt incite a lot of beings. Her ear twitched to the side as she hears Solis huff, finally coming closer again. She’s tempted to smack her tail against their nose for sounding so annoyed, but with every step they make, the scent that has her hackles rising just slightly gets stronger. Which is weird in its own way. Normally the scent of rotting wood wouldn’t put her on edge. She frowns at the other boundary marking that has been smashed to pieces just as badly as the ones before it.

Sniffing at the smashed iron gate that this time at least left a wider path for them to walk without stepping on it, she could most certainly detect the scent of rotting maple wood on it, but why a tree would carry such a scent everywhere they’ve been so far with the tree not actually in sight just puts her on edge. Reminding her of something she had forgotten, and frustrating her in equal measure because she doesn’t know what it reminds her of. At least they get to enter a flowerless garden, it seems here that potted bushes or miniature trees in pots are supposed to be grown here, with some of those trees being particular colorful with their leaves. Yet. When she looks around. The destruction of these plants is just as obvious as the first marked boundary they passed, the potted trees and bushes are laying broken on the ground, if not crushed at certain places. But something felt amiss at the sight of it. Further in the path of destruction she sees a group of trees clustered close together, it looks like the tree trunks all meld together into one when it reached the ground. Their leaves looking brittle and has patches of it that are definitely gone, leaving the branches that has is in that condition empty and bare. “Grrrr…” Her hackles rise as she noticed something happening with that cluster of trees, and bares her teeth at it. “Taka? You see it too?” She wasn’t sure what her human is saying, but the white wolf joined her in warning off the threat as they joined in growling and baring their teeth at it. That cluster of trees laying on the ground shouldn’t be here. Now that she is noticing the trend of this marked territory, it looks out of place and it is definitely the source of that rotting scent as well.

The tugging of the leash her human does to lead them closer to the threat is neither appreciated, nor something that is going to make her stop growling. Rather. She increases it when she sees it twitching in a way that is definitely not something a soft breeze could accomplish. THAT TREE CLUSTER MOVED! She barks out a plume of fire as she hears the creaking noise of the trees and sees it somehow starting to stand up, the attempt letting more leaves fall on the ground that are too brittle and weak to stay on its branches, and faces them, its mouth when it opened in what might be a yawn spread far enough that she thinks it could easily gobble someone up half her size, but is looking at the trio when it lifts its head more in their direction with a type of dullness that makes it seem it isn’t entirely seeing them. The white wolf moves closer to the two of them, starting to slowly inch in front of the human, but gets pushed aside each time he tries. “Not now Solis! Taka, no! We are not here to attack the Nyssa.” She blinks in confusion, her growl becoming just a tad softer as she hears her human object about something. And then much too her surprise her human dropped the leash when she started digging her heels in, not wanting to come closer, and kept pushing away the white wolf as they tried to stand protectively in front of the threat. “Hello there! It’s been a while!” The sound she emits is both nervous and carries a fake cheerfulness to it, she sneezes at what she is guessing to be a poor attempt of wanting to placate it. The rotting tree at least didn’t make her think it was annoyed at the attempt. Though that doesn’t make it any less worrying when it is almost four or five times her size.

“I was hoping to do another trade with you?” Her eyes stray only for a moment to her human as she seems to drop something from her back, kneeling down to tear it open, its sound reminding her of flesh getting teared apart, only more effortlessly. Taking out its organs in the form of another piece similar to it, but only has one opening, and smelling of different fruits. “If I give you this sack of fruit, I want you to leave this place, don’t return to these gardens again..” She could hear a sharp edge in the tone, it makes her ears twitch downwards for a moment as she still doesn’t hear the command to use her fire. She’s certain with how sickly this large being is, she only needs to breath out a plume of fire once, and the whole problem is gone. She hears a frustrated whine coming from the white wolf as they look firmly at the tree, its teeth bared and dripping yellow liquid from their fangs, spitting it out when it starts dripping too much on the tongue. The scent of it makes her uneasy, and she takes a couple steps away from them. She doesn’t trust that wolf enough yet to know it won’t become a problem for her. The white wolf didn’t even once wanted to interact with her while they traveled to this destination.

“I can try and sweeten the deal for you,” She hears her human say with a bit more confidence then before when the Nyssa didn’t show any further aggression except staring at them dully. “by having Solis try and heal you? You don’t look so well.” She waved her hand to the white wolf’s direction, making Solis give a confused whine as she seems to want them closer to her side again, when she has been pushing them away quite often when they tried to stand protectively in front of her. She is confused about it as well. Did she want them to protect her now? Or did she mean something else with the gesture? She huffs in annoyance, letting a small bit of smoke escape from her mouth. Regardless, should that overgrown walking stick try anything, she will be sure to turn it into ash. The Nyssa tilts its large head to the side, not in confusion as it might first appear, but more in consideration as it eyes the whole group. The progress to think about it is slow, what with how deteriorated its mind has become from its rapidly failing health. It hadn’t been able to find anything that it could use to stop it.

Taka narrows her eyes as she sees the large being nod at last, having taking more then just a moment to seemingly contemplate what her human said. She was getting confused about why she suddenly starts to smile so largely and walk closer to the tree that is capable of movement, one hand still keeping a hold of the sack with the scent of many fruits. When she is only a meter away from the large clawed feet of the being, she stops to look into the white wolf’s direction, and ignoring Taka, she waves to him in a gesture she could tell that makes it she wants the wolf to come closer. She wasn’t certain if she should feel affronted with it, or frustrated that they were allowed to do something about that walking stick of rotting wood, and she didn’t. “Solis, come over here. I need your help.” She hears her human say as the white wolf starts to come closer, ears flattened and looking just as wary as before they first saw the being. At least it didn’t seem like it was planning to attack them, it mostly just watched her human as she laid the organ down that she had ripped out of herself. Although she has to admit, it doesn’t smell like there was any fresh blood involved. Nor does it smell from this distance like shed skin either. Inching closer to the largest part she had dropped, and left behind, she smells much to her surprise when sticking her nose in it, the scent of meat. So this does consist of different organs, and she is offering the being one of hers?
