After all of that Sevyrn felt the need to dig around a bit more - and then for safety sake roll the pumpkin that had been next to this one to see if anything might have been under that one, too. Quite honestly she was tempted to roll all of the pumpkins one by one now, but that would be a waste of energy. It the mansion wanted her to find something, then it would appear to her - she could not force it to happen.
After everything was put away, Sevyrn returned to the task at hand. All of the commotion at hand had lured Rachet away from the toy as she wanted to check out what was going on - Sevyrn offered the kitten a smile and a really good pet before encouraging her to go back to her toy. When Rat didn't want to move away again, Sevyrn simply made sure that she was away from anything sharp.

Sevyrn jabbed her knife deep in to the tip of the pumpkin, unsurprised by just how much resistance its thick flesh brought. Once she'd severed the thickness she gated it against the edges to work her way in a circle around the top - it was much harder work than it needed to be if she had access to the right tools for the job. Eventually she was finally able to free the top from the body of the pumpkin and she pulled it away from the body, flesh still attached to the stringy insides. She swiped as much of the guts away as she could with an already dirty hand - she didn't want to lose too many of the seeds, even though regardless there was going to be more than enough to fill the container and take back home with her. The Mosca didn't know what to think of anything that she was seeing here.

Her hands were going to be so gross after this that she wasn't even going to want to touch the Mosca, lest she end up needing to give the kitten a bath... That was something that Sevyrn wouldn't end up looking forward to. Maybe there would be a sink available through the other side of the banquet hall? Or at least a pitcher of water that she could dip her hands in to and then dump? Only time would tell...
She wasn't afraid to get dirty, though, and after putting the knife down close to her side so that Rachet wouldn't be able to get it, she dug deep in to the pumpkin and started reaching around, pulling strands of innards out only to pry the seeds out of it. Once she had gotten as much as possible in to her hand, she tossed the guts aside and put the seeds in the container. Rachet hissed out of surprise as strands of pumpkin innards landed close to but not on her.

The plan was rather obvious from there - grab guts, de-seed, put the stuff aside. Sevyrn rather enjoyed playing with the pumpkin guts, and as she made her way through the mass of seeds and gut strands, she found herself wanting to carve the flesh of the pumpkin... it seemed to be too early in the year for such a thing, and too early in the year to take one of these home to carve at a later date. She definitely would need to do pumpkin carving at some point this year, though - she hadn't last. Or maybe this would be a good time to?
"What do you think, Rat?" Sevyrn asked the mosca, who was now pawing at the collection of pumpkin guts. It seemed that she might need to give a kitten a bath anyways... at least her little paws. Hopefully only her paws. "Should we carve a pumpkin? I could carve you in it."

Oh, screw it! She was going to give carving that pumpkin a shot. What harm could be done by that anyways? She'd never exactly used, uh, pumpkin and knife as her artistic tools to create a mosca before, but what harm could be done? Worst case there seemed to be an endless field of pumpkins just waiting for her to try again, each one ending up an improvement from the last.
As Rat ran off to find her toy, Sevyrn put her peanut-tin of pumpkin seeds go the side and pulled the gourd in between her legs, securing it between her thighs as she carefully used the tip of the knifes blade to mark a very shallow, carefully made outline of where she hoped to create the design. Maybe sculpting course would make this a little easier... pumpkin was more like clay than it was like paper, right? Oh well.

Were those... more of those little glass marbles?
It wasn't Sevyrn who found them this time, her mind to entranced by the task at hand, but rather Rachet found them. The green orbs laid at rest at the base of one of the pumpkins, only to be swatted away by the juvenile's curious paw. Whack! One of them went flying, landing with a dull thud near Sevyrn. The woman was finally distracted, attention pulled from her pumpkin.
Huh - these little things were rather strange. Where were they coming from? What were they for? Sevyrn had no clue what to make of them - she might have to make a friend who could tell her more. Until she found some kind of use for them, the strange little glass balls could build up an already sizable collection in her backpack, waiting for further usage. Maybe they had something to do with that strange wishing well just inside the mansion's property?

The kitten mewled in protest as Sevyrn picked that first green glass ball from the ground, and even hissed at the girl when Sevyrn pushed the pumpkin in her lap aside to swoop up the other two that sat away from her. Sevyrn twirled them around her fingers, curious about them in all regards. She truly was going to have to figure out where they came from and what they were meant for at some point.
Once they were tucked safely in to her backpack with the rest, it was time to get back to pumpkin carving! Sevyrn already had the base outline done, and now it was time to just delve in and pierce the flesh all the way through, working her way around the outline until the pieces that she wanted came free from the bulk of the gourd. She didn't let it hit the ground - no. While it was still clean she took a quick bite.

Aha! The pumpkin was ready! Sevyrn was so happy with the way it turned our giving that it was only her first try - it wasn't amazing but it was at least obviously an attempt. There was an outline of a feline face in the middle, with small wings floating on each side.
"Rat, come here!" Sevyrn called, to the little critter that had wandered off to check out another row of pumpkins. The girl looked towards her but didn't move. Understandable... she didn't know that command. Sevyrn pulled a little treat out of her bag, hoping to motivate the little mosca to come over to her. "Come here!" She called in a sweet voice, reaching her free hand towards the mosca. The excitement of Sev's tone and the fact that she seemed to want her caught Rachet's attention. "Come here," she repeated, and this time the kitty came to her

"Oh what a good little girl," the woman cooed as the little mosca reached her, handing her the little snack. As soon as Rachet could start to mow it down she went to town, incredibly excited about it. Sevyrn gave her a really good pat and scratch - the kitten seemed to be loving the loving that she was getting.
"Look at what I made!" Sevyrn said, using one of her fingers to try to draw the mosca's attention towards the pumpkin. It wasn't working for her, though - Rachet wanted to run back off. "Come here, baby! I want to show you that I made you!"
It seemed that at least they had a good time to work on a little basic work. It was becoming a bit of a task - the kitten wanted to run around and play. Once again, the little piece of dried fish was enough to get the mosca to come to her.

That scarecrow puppet looks pretty weird sitting there with a flute in it's hands...

What... was that? It caught Sevyrn's sight out of the corner of her eye, something that looked vaguely like a face in the distance. She clambered to her feet and wandered over, ready to investigate. It... was some kind of puppet? It seemed to be some kind of little scarecrow made out of sticks, holding a different variety of the same kind of flute that she had seen earlier within its makeshift hands. What a strange little thing that was.
"Rachet, come here!" Sevyrn called, wishing to goad the little mosca to the new location. She seemed to be incredibly interested in that pumpkin, though - of course... now that Sevyrn had lost interest in it. Hoping that maybe this time would go a little easier than the last, Sevyrn called out to her again. It caught her attention but she didn't move, not until she was called a third time. That was okay... she was learning. Sev had a ton of affection waiting for the kitty when she arrived.

That little scarecrow would be an interesting piece to keep on her coffee table - she would probably even be able to put that flute in to its hands just in the way that she had found it. How many questions would that bring if she were to have any visitors? Sure, she never had any visitors, but it would be nice to have some kind of use for any of the various things that she had found during her first and second adventures to the mansion.
After packing everything up, Sevyrn decided that so far this place seemed like it was a safe place, which made it a good time to maybe get some of the basics down before she dared to wander deeper in to the mansion with her young mosca. For the next little while rather than adventuring Sevyrn focused on helping the mosca develop a solid understanding of coming over to her on command.

Rachet was incredibly distractable relative to most of the creatures that Sevyrn cared for, intensely curious and always wanting to wander off and see what was going on. As much as Sev appreciated the kitten's curious nature, it was something that needed to be reeled in during moments of trouble. Luckily, with time and patience, the kitten grew to understand what was going on. When the woman said 'come', she wanted Rachet to come be close to her! Rat loved to cuddle up, why would there be a problem with that?
"Yeah, I'm proud of you," Sevyn said as the kitten came to her during the last command, giving her a good head scratch and no treat. It was such good progress! Now it was time to start moving in to something else, though. With one hand raised, palm open and fingers stretched apart in a "stop" motion, Sevyrn spoke again. "Stay here."

Given that she'd never been faced with that gesture before, Rachet didn't know what was going on when Sevyrn began to step away from her. Where was she going? She'd just wanted some mosca loving!
"No," Sevyrn said, shaking her head. "Stay," she repeated - this time more firmly, and began to walk off again. With each step she repeated the command, tossing a little treat to the mosca every few steps. At first she wasn't able to get very far - that was okay. She was proud of the mosca for listening for even a little bit, even if she wouldn't yet understand exactly what she was being asked to do. After a quick little scratch Sevyrn was ready to get back to work, though. Once again she raised her hand up so the mosca could see what she was doing, ask her to stay put, and take small steps away while repeating it.
