Endymion may have been smart enough to have gotten away, but Morgan was holding him back, and Morgan wasn't moving. This was just too interesting to them, even if the foul stench that had come from the first fish to pop had been so bad that it made them light headed. However, it wasn't long before that stench was gone. Morgan stood there, looking at the remaining dead fish for a long quiet moment, wondering if it was over. It was not over. Suddenly, another of the swollen and disgusting fish popped, and Morgan smelled an even more foul smell. Oh, this was disgusting. Heaving, Morgan swallowed the best they could, trying not to be sick. Of course, they hadn't eaten in forever or yet this evening, so they weren't in danger of that at least. They began grabbing the items they had brought there that day, not wanting to leave them behind.

Endymion was looking at Morgan with a blatantly incredulous expression, and internally he was shocked that Morgan would waste time with all of this horrible stench and dead stuff to grab objects, of all things, but as soon as he noticed that Morgan was having this trouble, he runs up and grabs the backpack on his own in his mouth, and takes off, giving Morgan more hands to grab other things. Soon enough, both of them were running down the rocky beaches that they had went across looking for an area for him to learn how to swim and fish in. They ran and ran on the beach until they found another place without the stench and fish, hearing them pop as they had ran all that way. It was absolutely baffling and gross. Morgan had never heard anything like that happening before! They finally stopped to catch their breath, and Endymion drops the backpack he has.

They stopped there to finish up Endymion's 'fishing' training. There were no more bad fish around, and though Morgan and Endymion had nasty tastes in their mouth metaphorically, they worked as hard as possible to make sure that Endymion could catch fish. He caught a few more things (including a lotus) whenever Morgan asked him to go fishing, and then he put them in the cooler when Morgan asked. Finally, they were done for the day. Morgan had a full cooler of fish, and was really tired. It was getting late, the sunset was completely over now. "It is time f-for us to go home, Endymion." Morgan says, nodding to him. He looks up at Morgan curiously, as if he is about to ask a question, but suddenly seems to decide against it. "You'll speak sometime, I know." Morgan said, giving him a reassuring pat. Then, much to Morgan's dread, they went home.

Morgan and Endymion had gotten a lot of rest after the mining trip that they had went on, and finally got up and around to go fishing in the evening again. The human's arms were still sore from all of the mining they had done, but perhaps it had been worth it for them to have done so. For one, Endymion had gotten a lot of the lesson program Morgan had planned for him as a youngster completed, and Morgan had found a lot of interesting things down in the mines (also, it was their first ever couple of trips, and that was enough to show Morgan that it would be worth it to continue going). However, Morgan was hoping to catch the river on the tail end of the 'wet' season, because they really needed to teach Endymion something important, and they had heard that there was always a big migration of Halberd Sharks.

Morgan carried all of their fishing supplies on their back in the backpack (some of them hanging out of the zipper, which was left open just wide enough to do so), and Endymion kept up on his gangly, growing legs. They didn't have a whole lot more time, Morgan knew, with him being so young. They weren't sure how he was going to look as an adult, because though he was quite gangly, he still had all of his pudgy baby fat. It was actually adorable, much to Endymion's "teenage" chagrin.
"S-so, we're gonna start working on your ability to not be frozen in fear." Morgan said to him, smiling softly.
Endymion snorts, a newfound teenage snark in his voice. "Surely not." Morgan rolls their eyes at him, but still gives him another soft grin.
"We're almost there..." The bespectacled human said, as the pair of them began to round a corner.
When they got to the other side, Endymion FREEZES.

Morgan knew that he'd seen them before they had. "Those are Halberd Sharks. W-we better not try to catch them, I'm n-not really skilled enough for it." Morgan said. Endymion's mouth was dry and hung slack, and Morgan wasn't sure how they could tell that his mouth was dry but it was a bit uncomfortable. "Y-you see, they are very 'scary'. Scary creatures can sometimes make y-your fight or flight reaction start up strong and kinda get stuck. T-thus, the difficulty to move." They explained to him, hoping that it would help along the process. Endymion stands stark still, and shakes. It was a bit funny to see a dragon going stiff as a board over water-bound sharks.
The creatures were not typically found during the dry season, and it was starting to get close to the dry season. It made sense that the Halberd sharks were travelling back to where they came from -deeper waters-, while they still had the chance before risking stranding.

One of the sharks moved quite close to the shore, a bit more so than the others, and it sent Endymion stiff-legging it up the embankment further. Morgan tried not to chuckle at him, they really did, but of course it was a futile attempt. Endymion keeps his head and tail low as he moves up against the canyon wall, licking his metaphorical emotional wounds as he glares at his human. "I-I'm sorry, but you know, I did tell you." That was probably not the best thing to say to an emotional 'teenager', but Endymion simply snorts at them.
Finally, Endymion manages to get a few words out- "There are so many." He says, simply.
"Yup, th-they're fleeing what is to come in a few weeks. The next week and few days are the last days of the rainy s-season." They explained to him. "But that's not why we're here."

Endymion shot Morgan another look, but Morgan simply waved him over. "The g-good thing is that they are stuck in the water. Y-you are on the land. I need you to stand near them, as close as possible, and work on your fear. I need you to not be afraid, and to not be stuck in one position." They said. Endymion looked a bit fearful, but Morgan walked over to him, and gently put their hand on his shoulder to lead him over to the bank.
"What if one of them lunges on to the bank?" He asks, his voice a little trembly. Morgan didn't even know that draconics could do that.
"T-then we'll see how well that danger thing stuck. C-come-on." They coaxed him. Finally, they both walk out to the bank. The Halberd sharks varied in size quite a bit. Some truly monstrous, and some quite small. Morgan couldn't imagine dragging one of those in.

Some of them looked really worse for wear, the human noticed. They pointed at a specific, large and old one, that looked both blind and like it had been cut with halberds many times over. "See that o-one? That must be an elder." They said. "I wondered wh-what the halberds were for." They said. Endymion watches it with a curious gaze, and he closed his mouth and opened it a few times, trying to wet his tongue. Morgan had been hoping to get his attention off of the fear. "Okay, t-try to move for me." Morgan said to him, giving a hand movement. Endymion stiff-leggedly managed to move one leg. A single leg- but that was progress. "Good, t-that's progress." They said.
After this, they would point out a shark, and then try to coax him to move. Slowly, Endymion moved another leg.

Another little shark swims by, followed by some... seaweed?

That was good, that was progress. Morgan kept telling theirself this even after fifteen minutes of this. It felt like time was dripping on slowly, like nearly crystallized honey. Morgan was a little concerned that perhaps he'd be more difficult to teach how not to be scared than even Millicent was. As soon as they began worrying though, it was as if Endymion could feel it and was personally insulted. He got a very concentrated look in his eyes that gave the human a bit of worry, and suddenly he moved a leg, towards Morgan, and then another one soon after. The human immediately perked up, grinning. "You're doing it- y-you've got this!" Morgan said, waving him over. Beside them, in the water, the halberd sharks all migrated further down the stream, probably to the ocean or something? Morgan was actually very curious about that. At least it was to the source of the water.

The halberd sharks were, Morgan admitted, terrifying. They personally didn't like the idea of getting into the water with them, and of course it would be dumb of them to ask Endymion to do so. No, just Endymion moving along the bank without hindrance would be counted as a win for them. There was no need to actually put Endymion in danger just to do something that could be done from safety. Endymion continued to stop and then unstick multiple times, sometimes he was stuck for a good long while in fact, as he continued to try to move under the terrifying sway of the group of migrating Halberd Sharks. Morgan continued to try to coax him along, to varying lines of success. Endymion was really trying, and putting in the work though, so Morgan kept coaxing him anyway.
They hoped for another breakthrough success soon, because they weren't sure how long the Halberd Sharks would be passing through.

The draconic was slowly but surely making progress, moving his muscles with a bit more ease, but still shaking. Morgan was concerned that he wasn't making good progress, but didn't let it show in their voice. "K-keep it up, you've got this!" They repeated, in different ways, over the course of the next five minutes. Endymion was beginning to move more freely even after that, with a little less shaking. A huge Halberd shark goes by, but it only makes Endymion's body stick for a half of a second before he begins to walk again. That was excellent, just earlier when the large ones were passing, he'd stick for more like thirty seconds. "T-that's Great!" Morgan calls. "Keep it up, you're making progress!" The human said, excitedly. That excitement seemed to do some good help, Endymion slowly stops shaking, and starts moving a little quicker.

Now that the young draconic wasn't shaking, Morgan couldn't help but grin at him, a real, true grin. They clapped their hands once together. "You've got it, t-there is the breakthrough!" Morgan says. The young draconic seemed to notice it when Morgan said it, and that broke the last of his binds it would seem. Endymion moves with liquid grace after that, still wary of the sharks in the water when one or two popped up every now and again to look at them, but he was no longer paralyzed by fear of them. He'd finally found the mental and emotional strength to fight off the effects of fear. Of course, he had been focusing on his strength physically at first, but soon enough it appeared that he had figured out how to combat his emotional concerns.
"Great job Endymion, I was sure that you could do it!" They said.

It was a good thing that Endymion had gotten done by that point (at least to the point to where Morgan was confident with him) because after that, very few Halberd Sharks came down the river. It seemed like these were the last stragglers, and Morgan was sure that they probably wouldn't see any more for a long time after the very last (a very injured, very sick individual) passed them by, lagging far, far behind. Morgan glanced around, waited a few moments, and then unloaded their backpack, getting after the net and fishing pole that they had brought. Endymion settles down now, sitting beside Morgan.
"So, what are we going to do now?" Endymion asks, curious now that the danger had passed.
Morgan smiled. "I was wondering if you h-had a breath weapon." Morgan half stated, and half asked him. "We probably need to figure that one out."
