Endymion knew about breaths, by this point. He'd found out that Vixie, though unable to completely control her breath as of yet, was able to create fire. Her old clans' patriarch was completely unable to breathe anything at all, so it wasn't always a skill that draconics had. Some of them had it, and some were not. They tended to gain one or the other from their parents. Endymion had no parents, so he had no idea if he had a possibility of having a breath or not. He looks at Morgan with concern on his face. "What if I don't?" He looks a bit nervous.
"Of course, even if you don't, it d-doesn't make you any lesser. BUT- I'm sure you do." Morgan said, as they tied a hook onto their line with a deftness that sort of surprised their own self.
"How are you so sure?" He asks.

It was story time, as far as Morgan was concerned. "O-one time, the day after you were hatched-" Or at least, Morgan assumed that he had hatched. They had vague, strange, out-of-place memories that hardly felt like their own, of a solid white softly glowing egg. "We went fishing. T-this was before you could talk. I-in fact, you were asleep at first." Morgan said. Endymion looked... a little confused. Like maybe he had forgotten some of his earlier memories. Morgan wasn't sure if that was normal for a draconic of his intelligence (at least human intelligence, though he learned faster than any toddler Morgan had ever seen personally), but they didn't allow theirself to be too worried about it.
"S-so, that day we worked on mostly just meeting each-other. I learned that you loved to learn, s-so we worked on your swimming. Anyway, I splashed you with water."

Endymion listens with obvious rapt curiosity. Morgan could not imagine how or why he must be so interested, but then again, they figured that they would have loved hearing stories about younger theirself from their father had he... Not disappeared. Morgan wasn't sure if they would have even been embarrassed or not- in fact, they probably would be. "T-that ticked you off." They chuckled. "So you made this... Uh, bark? Noise? Not like a houluh of course. It was a large noise though." Morgan tried to explain it. "B-but it wasn't quite like thunder. Anyway, even as a newborn your noise knocked me on my ass in the water." They admitted. Though they weren't very big or strong, theirself, after all. "S-so I'm pretty sure that was not like the other loud noise you make, it has to be something else. The other loud noise doesn't knock me over."

After that explanation, Morgan looks at Endymion (mostly because they were now done getting the hook strung, and were about to grab some bait for it), and notices that he is looking at himself in the reflection on the water. "D-don't worry, it is probably a really d-destructive force, but sometimes... Violence IS the answer. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Morgan said. "S-sometimes you have to stand up for yourself and others that you care about, or things that matter to you. There is n-no such thing as a bloodless revolution." They quoted to him, nodding.
Endymion looks a little sick at that, and Morgan feels the wave of nausea secondhand. They were about to comfort him, whenever Endymion looks up at Morgan more confidently this time. "Don't worry." He says, instead. "I'll learn when it is necessary, and when it can be avoided."

Morgan wished that they were half the person that Endymion was growing up to be, at this personality trajectory, but they really weren't. At one point, a few weeks ago, they would have felt guilty about that. They were beginning to own the fact that they were a bad person, and honestly, it was a little bit freeing. They were still a little too self-critical (and just the fact that they could admit that was a good example of it indeed) but they were really beginning to own the fact that they just didn't like people, didn't really care for them, and just wanted to do their own thing and complete their goals.
Endymion, on the other hand, seemed like he was a bit of a bleeding heart, at least when it came to Morgan. That was something that Morgan was a little fearful for- he was probably going to have a hard time.

What's that thing attached to the fish?

The bespectacled human went for the bait pouch, opened it up to reveal some cheap grubs that they never seemed to catch anything special with (of course, they didn't really want to buy the stuff from the shop, they didn't see any real reason to when they could just use the basic bear minimum and be fine), and then threaded the tiny thing on the hook. Endymion watched the water with interest. "Can I help?" He asks, readying his 'paws' towards the water.
"Sure, Endymion, catch whatever you feel like." Morgan said, readying the fishing pole for a cast. Endymion looked up whenever the noise of the fishing pole being swung was made, and his mouth opened in a little 'oh'. The line landed in a decent spot upriver, but of course began floating downriver. Morgan let it go long, so that they could draw it in slowly to mimic swimming.

Endymion had not, to this point, seen the fishing pole being used. "S-so fish bite the bait, and then are hooked?" He asked, curiously. He sniffed the little baggie of grubs and then stuck his tongue out in a 'yuck' facial expression before moving over to the water again. "Yup, that's e-e-exactly the way it worked." They said, eyes on the prize, so to speak, at the end of the hook. There wasn't anything out there yet, but Morgan didn't want to lose a lot of bait. Their father used to throw out the line and throw the grubs off, when Morgan was a kid. The idea sort of made them half-chuckle, but it was a sad noise.
Endymion waited for creatures to float by, and then tried to get them out onto the beach. Morgan slowly reeled in the hook, trying to mimic swimming motions.

The first thing to float along for Endymion to try to catch was one of those little brown sharks. They were so small that he doubted that they would be really dangerous. Apparently they could bite a finger or toe on a humanoid, but not much else. He didn't have to worry about that already, he was growing so fast. He wondered exactly how tall he would be in the future. He swipes at just the right moment to flop the little brown shark onto the beach, and it flops. He gently picks it up in his maw, and it flipped around a few times, slapping him in the 'cheeks'. Morgan laughed at him, ignoring their line for a moment, and finally, Endymion opens up the cooler and sticks the little shark in there. He looked really embarrassed, but didn't seem hurt. "Goodness, Endymion." Morgan said to him, finally turning back to their line.

It was the first catch of the evening, and Morgan was pretty pleased that Endymion seemed to have learned how to fish in a way that stuck, even though his memories of learning weren't there. That was the way it happened, sometimes, as sentient beings grew up. The human reels in the hook, makes sure the grub is still on there properly, and then flicks it out again. Endymion watches with intense curiosity. Then, he asks another question, as Morgan lets the line down again. "What happens if that hook hooks one of us by accident?" He asks. Morgan gives him an apologetic smile. "A-actually that's a good question. H-hopefully I won't manage to hook one of us, but sometimes it happens. D-don't worry, I brought some healing items, and I've got a trick I can teach you." They answered. It did seem to put the draconic at ease.

The human spent some time fishing, standing there, reeling in the line slowly to mimic swimming bait. After a while, they felt like they got a bite. Excitedly, the looked over to Endymion and winked at him- "I got a bite!" It was really the first bite they'd gotten... Well, pretty much ever. They had caught a small, inedible fish as a child, but they hadn't even felt it nibble, they'd more seen it do so. Endymion watches with curiosity as Morgan begins to reel in the line faster, using the spinning apparatus on the pole as fast as they could. Soon enough, the hook broke the water. Not only had Morgan apparently lost the little cheap bait grub that they had gotten (notoriously bad for fishing, at that) but they had managed to hook some kind of large brown... Thing.
The human frowned as they drew it up onto the bank, and looked it over.

Endymion catches sight of Morgan's dejected expression, and then puts one and two together. That couldn't bite, Morgan didn't really look happy, and of course it was a lumpy... Thing. He busts out laughing, and Morgan shoots him an embarrassed expression. "Don't you even l-laugh." Morgan says, sticking their tongue out at him. "It's a rare plant, you know. I can find... Uses, for this." The human was obviously trying to regain some sense of dignity.
"That wasn't a bite! And you lost your bait, too!" He said, between snorts, and then he guffawed.
As soon as he did that, Morgan felt a loud noise shake the ground around them, making rocks jump around them. It echoed down the canyon between the walls.
Endymion looks up, perked at the noise.
"There it is." Morgan said, brown plant thing momentarily forgotten. "Your voice. Your breath."

Endymion was shocked at first, and then suddenly he seemed very proud. "That was me, wasn't it?" He said, more statement than question. At that, he did what Morgan kinda assumed was meant to be a little dance on all of his gangly legs, and then he raised his wings up, flapping (they were far too small to do any lifting on him yet, but Morgan could feel the wind off of them). "Y-yup, that was all you, bud!" Morgan said.
Of course, there were other things they needed to work on, and Endymion's voice was going to take a long time for him to be able to find again and control again anyway. "W-we'll work on that together as time goes on, okay?" Morgan said. Endymion nodded, excitedly. "Well, I think I'll take a break here in a bit, and use the fishing pole a bit more- but we need to work on something else with you too."
