Once Kadin really got the sarane tracking the toy, he needed to make sure that it understood the command and not just that it needed to attack the toy. He swapped out the toy for a different one, similar but of a different species. He held it up right in front of the sarane, just like before, and encouraged it to bash it. The sarane looked over at the toy that had been left behind and then the toy Kadin had. It cautiously moved towards it. "Yes! Come on, bash!" Kadin encouraged quickly, trying to get it to go for it. Eventually, the sarane did decide to bash it, growling happily. Kadin stuffed treats into its face, praising it for the bash. "Bash! Good bash!" And then it was time to try again. He switched to another toy, wanting to get it to practice on as many things as possible. The sarane, now that it was more confident, went for the next toy faster than the last. Then he tried another toy. It went for that one even faster, staring to really get into running into many different items. Kadin swapped another toy, then another. Eventually, he tried for getting the sarane to run into a tree, next, since he'd need it for the next step.
The houluh just continued to play, wrestling off in another area, rolling around in the grass and enjoying themselves. They didn't pay any attention to Kadin and the sarane at all at this point, happy with themselves.

Now that he was able to get the sarane to bash other objects, Kadin directed it to the tree. He wanted to get it to attack the tree harder to make sure that the move was strong enough to use in the arena. Kadin encouraged the sarane to bash the tree a few times, getting it to hit as hard as it wanted to a few times to build up its confidence before he started to ask for more. Once it seemed more confident in its abilities, Kadin started to encourage it to hit it harder. He encouraged it to bash the tree, but when it didn't hit it hard enough he ordered it to bash it harder, more intensely. "Bash!" Kadin encouraged, giving the sarane more treats when it put in more effort than before. "Bash, come on! Bash!" He encouraged even more, getting it to hit the tree harder and harder than the last time. The sarane seemed to feed off its energy, getting more into the command the further they went. "Bash! Come one, bash!" Kadin encouraged, giving it more treats whenever it put more effort into it. The sarane was making great progress. Each time, it was bending the tree more and more. He really felt they were ready now!
The houluh did actually get their attention over at all the noise over there. They watched, curious, as the sarane played with Kadin, curious about what was going on. It looked like it might be fun, but it also looked like it might hurt!

The noise and chaos didn't go un-noticed; a flicking ear and curious eyes had a wild Gallor from quite a fair distance away, to make its way closer. From the brush where it stalked, it slinked over, watching in wary interest at the acts of the sentient and others in the area... what a strange scene!

After taking a bit of a break from gardening for a while, Kadin decided to come back to it with a fresh perspective and less pets to keep track of. It was a bit difficult to control so many houluh, sarane, and other pets at once, so this time he wanted to only bring one houluh to the gardens and be able to dedicate his full attention to it instead of dealing with all of the pets at once. But when he looked at their faces he just couldn't leave them all behind when they so clearly wanted to come with him. With a great big sigh, Kadin went ahead and brought the two houluh and the runner with him this time. Even though he wasn't sure that it was a good idea. Having so many pets out at once was chaos, at pets, especially when they were all such high energy pets that all wanted to do things with him all at once. Still, it wasn't anything he hadn't dealt with before so he felt confident in being able to take care of them. So he brought the two houluh together so that they could properly have a friend and spend time together for if the runner got to be too much for them. He didn't want the runner to run down another houluh, especially when he had so much going on, he wanted to make sure everyone was happy all together and so that it wasn't too bad when he had them out.

The houluh, as always, were perfectly happy to just play with each other, running around like they didn't have a single care in the world. Kadin felt that Faline was doing well, he'd been working hard with her for a while now and was wondering if he should do some more extra training with her so that they could have something more to work on rather than just wandering around in the gardens for a while. He also had another houluh with him, too, and this one actually still needed a name. He wasn't sure what he was going to do with that one training wise but he knew that he definitely needed to get moving on its training eventually. He also really needed to give it a name at some point, too, so that he could successfully work on its training. He needed to work with it and having a name was the absolute basis of that, he needed a name for it in order to work hard on the rest of the training with it. The runner didn't have a name, either, if he was thinking about it. He needed to see if he could name the two of them and then he'd be more successful with them in the future. Right now they were all really bonding with each other and he was looking forward to being able to work with them more, but lacking something as basic as a name was a bit inexcusable when it came to raising a pet.

But what to name them? He eyed the different pets for a while, wondering to himself what good names would be that fit their personalities. Faline's had been easy. It was just a name based off how she looked. Since she had spots like a young deer, to him he felt she looked a lot like a deer. So he had named her after a deer from a rather famous story he'd seen when he was young. The others were a bit more difficult to name. They were good looking creatures, but they didn't have any specific, distinctive features that he would want to use to give them a name. The one houluh was just sort of brown. Any name that just went off how it looked would be basic, at best, and he wanted something more creative with it than just naming it after what color it was then that was only a very basic think about it. The runner was stripped and black and red, both very basic traits. All runners were stripped, too, so that wasn't a distinctive feature that he could use to name it. Its colors were also rather basic, so there wasn't anything he could do about the colors to name it, either. He would just have to be more creative about what he ended up naming them and use their personalities more so than he would use what they looked like. Faline had been rather easy to name, but these ones were more tricky.

He figured that it should, in theory, be easier to go with the houluh first. He watched Faline play with the other houluh, both of them bouncing all over the place together. Faline would knock the other one over then bounce away, the other houluh rolling back to her feet and then bouncing after Faline in turn, next knocking her over and nipping at her face and ears before letting her up again. They were having so much fun together, it seemed like. The other houluh was cute, various shades of brown over her body. He didn't want to just name her a name like "brown dog" or something like that, but he figured that he could find a name that incorporated that color and use it properly. But what to name her? Leaf? They were only brown now, but were usually green. It wouldn't work. Bark? Naw, not if he wanted to teacher her to speak, plus that would be more confusing since she was a dog. Twig, stick... fuck he was just thinking about tree things right now because they were in the gardens. All he could see was brown in the nature and while it wasn't a bad idea to name her something after nature, he wanted to actually do a name that would be good for her and wasn't just a random thing that he found. There must be something better than just dirt or twig or some stupid name like that. He looked around, trying to find inspiration.

There was so much out here that could work, but wasn't quite right. Eventually he stopped and sat under a tree, trying to think of a good idea that would follow a nature thing with just being so random, boring piece of nature he was looking at right now. That's when he realized what kind of tree he was under. One with some very unique seeds. One with seeds that might make a good name, actually, if he decided to go that route. "Acorn." Kadin tested it out, seeing if he liked it. He moved the thought over in his head a little bit before finally deciding that, yeah. Yeah that was a good name. "Acorn." He said, decisively. That was one name down. He could call her Acorn. It was after something brown, something she even resembled, somewhat, with the slightly silver fur she sported over her brown coat. And it was a cute name, not just some random piece of nature that he was looking at right now while the houluh played with the runner. It was a name he could see as fitting her and he was happy with his decision for it. Acorn would be a good name for her and all he would need to do, at some point in the future, was figure out a good show name that would fit with the name Acorn. But that shouldn't be too hard and it was a good problem for future Kadin to solve instead of him right now.

Luckily he didn't need to have full show names until they houluh were actually ready to put up into the show ring and demonstrate their abilities, but he didn't have to worry about that right now since she was still just a puppy. He could work on that later, after he'd spent some more time with her and had a better sense of where he wanted to take her in the future. The next thing he needed to do was to figure out a name for his runner. He wanted it to be some sort of name that would go with a theme, something that he wanted his fossil pets to have all together. He had even less of an idea of what to use for their names than he did for the houluh. The houluh were almost easy, in a way, they can be named anything and he'd be fine with it, he could make something work out of it. But when it came to these fossil pets he was less sure. What sort of theme should he give them? He didn't want it to be something too crazy or something that he already had going on. He wanted it to be something easy to pull a lot of names from, too, so it would be easy to think of other names in the future. But what to name them? He continued to watch the runner and houluh play, wondering what would be a good theme to go with for them.

Fossil were usually dug up in the mines, right? He could do something based off gemstones or other minerals. He could easily do something like that, there were plenty of colors and different gem stones to go off. The runner he had right here was black. He could name it after a dark sort of mineral or stone in order to get them on a theme. The rest of his pets were various colors of red or pink and there were plenty of stones in those colors, too, that he could use to name them after. The more he thought about it, the more pleased he was with the decision. But it also came with the knowledge that he needed to pick a stone to name him after. There were plenty of minerals out there and he needed to choose one that fit it. He could choose something easy, of course, something he already knew about and would be an easy name to remember. That would probably be the best route to go when choosing a name since he wanted to be able to remember it just fine and he also wanted it to be something easy for the pet to learn how to respond to. So he wondered about it, trying to think of what sort of name would work best for it. He considered the dark and black minerals that he knew of. There was onyx and obsidian, which were pretty basic ones to consider and well known to many.

There were also lesser known gems and minerals out there that were also dark in color, but probably not as close to true black as most of ones he was just thinking about. Kadin watched as the houluh teases the runner, dancing toward it and then away, tempting it to start chasing them and then running around in circles when it did. They were faster than it for now, but Kadin had noticed that it had a lot more energy in its step after he'd fed it that last nutrient. He wondered if he would see more changes in it as he felt it more nutrients and was interested to find out if that would be the case. But for not he knew that he was really just procrastinating what he was supposed to be doing right now, which was naming the damn creature. He didn't think he wanted to go with something as long as obsidian. He wanted it to be an easy name to call out and that one was way too fucking long for that to be the case. Onyx would be a better alternative when it came to that, it was shorter, easy to say, and should be easier for the little guy to remember in the long run. Having no better options right now, Kadin decided on Onyx, for now. He might change his mind later, but for now he was ok with that name instead so he figured that Onyx would be a good enough name.

He could try to find more names for black creatures in the future. Having only a couple really made choosing difficult. He was happy with the one he had for now but he'd be happy to think of other ones in the future. Right now he was good with what he had and he was wondering if both creatures will be satisfied with their names once they actually learned them. Which, you know, he was planning on getting to eventually, but for now he was just going to let them play it off. He didn't want to mess with them right now when they were having a good play session and getting all of their energy out without him having to do much about it. He wanted to make sure they were all a bit worn out before he actually tried to do anything with them, it might be too much to overload them while they were full of so much energy an he wanted to be able to work with them when they were calm and focused. So right now he was just going to let them continue to play. The houluh continued to play chase with the runner, who he was watching carefully through all of this. He didn't want to risk it getting overexcited and accidently hurting any of the houluh. It was small right now but he didn't want to risk its instincts from activating and causing it to go after the houluh for real at any point.

That predatory instinct was strong in the runner, even if it was small. He'd want to encourage it, especially later when it was larger and he wanted to use it for hunting and fighting, but he didn't want to have it direct its attention onto any of his houluh. So he watched. The houluh were having and easy time keeping out of its reach for now, so he wasn't going to interrupt their play. He would wait for that for when the houluh eventually got tired out or the runner got tired out and one of them needed to take a break. Then he would get them all to take a rest so that no one got too worked up or got hurt. That was probably the best thing to do in this situation. So for now Kadin could just sit back and watch as they all played, content to only watch and not interfere until it was time for him to. Luckily they all seemed to enjoy each other's company well enough for now. The houluh seemed to realize that their four legs made it easier to turn corners than the runner with only two legs so they were trying to get it all turned around by stopping and changing direction quickly, yipping and barking in encouragement when their tight turns caused it to fall over and it had to try to get itself up with its tiny arms. Kadin was amused by this, enjoying watching their antics as they continued to play. Number Tracking: 10 - DONE *posts added to levels Post Count: 226

A gentle pap pap pap of paws and a wiggling nose to the ground, the doe raised its head only once to glance around with big eyes before turning its attention back towards the undergrowth. Her large ears could pick up on the sounds of small creatures at play, the rustling sounds light and non-threatening. There was assuredly a bounty of vegetables tucked away within this space, hidden from immediate view. They were there, she could smell it!
