This would be Lailah's... third? Time at the breeding center, now? Sevyrn was almost positive that was the case, but it had been a few months since their last venture, and Sevyrn was ready to see if she would get any more interesting lola now that Lailah seemed about ready to bloom once again. The last couple results had been interesting, varieties that she had never laid her eyes on before - including one that Sev really, really wanted to grow in to a lotine one day - and this lady never seemed to stop surprising her.
"You know how it goes," Sevyrn said to the lotine as she stared at the wagon with disdain. Sevyrn herself had to frown, too - she knew that Lailah didn't like the journey to the breeding center at all and she hated stressing her animals out like that. They would likely be back home in a jiffy, though.

At least, she hoped.
The last couple trips had been done and over with pretty quickly, and lotine didn't seem to be very common in the breeding center so the rooms always seemed to be available relatively quickly. That was a perk of caring for an uncommon species, she supposed. Regardless, it wasn't going to be easy getting there. Lailah did not seem to be fooled by the "snack in the cart" trick any more, and she was hesitant to even get near it... fuck.
"You know that everything is going to be okay," Sevyrn said to the majestic lady. "Look how quickly you were back home last time, done and over with just like that. It'll be the last time." Maybe... it will be the last time, maybe. If the lotine was going to keep going in to season, Sevyrn was going to want to keep caring for her to the best of her abilities.

A little lie wasn't the worst thing in the world, though, was it? Sevyrn genuinely meant well, and it wasn't like Lailah could truly understand the common language. That would be interesting, though. Could she teach the lotine to understand common? Sure, Lailah would never be able to speak back to her... Shit, her mind was wandering. She had a task at hand.
"Please?" Sevyrn asked, holding a fish near the lotine's head. When Lailah reached out to grab it, Sevyrn slowly urged it closer and closer to the cart. There was even a second fish waiting inside the wagon for Lailah to snack on... why did she have to be so difficult? At least she seemed interested in following the fish in Sev's hand closer and closer, it was better than her having a stare off with a hunk of wood on wheels from ten feet away like the wagon was going to attack her.

It was quite the task, but in the end Sevyrn was able to get Lailah loaded up - and the lotine looked so damn grumpy inside of the wagon. "I'm sorry," Sevyrn said to Lailah as she pulled the gate open, and once it was shut behind her it was time to start the journey down to the breeding center. At least the hard part was over with? Lailah was always much more eager to get in the wagon to head back home than she was getting in it to leave the garden...
Sevyrn pulled the lotine along behind her until they reached the breeding center, at which point she pulled the lotine inside with her. Now all they had to do was fill out the paperwork, get their room, and in no time the adventure would be over with.
"Now that wasn't so bad, was it? I don't understand why you're so dramatic sometimes."

Sevyrn parked the wagon and left it to the side, out of the way of anyone who might wander in after her. Filling out the forms was a breeze to her given how many times she had been here, and once she was done the attendant let her know that it wouldn't be long before they were pulled back - the lotine rooms were empty today, as Sevyrn had figured may be the case. They just needed to select a room and make sure it was ready to go and then voila... They would already be half way to heading back home.
Sevyrn stood by the wagon, shaking her head at the grumpy lotine inside. "Hey - you're doing great," Sevyrn said to Lailah. She rubbed the top of the lotine's head before offering her a snack. Hopefully that would be enough to make her be less crusty until they got back home.

As the attendant had said, it wasn't long before they were being address and Sevyrn started to pull her wagon along behind her as she followed the helpful young lady down to the breeding room that they had been assigned for the next little while. Lailah was... still being a grump, which was quite unsurprising. Sevyrn understood to some degree, it had to be quite stressful to be forced out of the only home she had known if even for a brief period of time, but it would... be over so much quicker if the lady didn't fight against it so much.
At least the lotine would be happier once they were inside the room, or would be as long as she acted like she normally did. Lailah always seemed to get happier once they were inside and she had access to the big pools that the lotine rooms offered.

And oh boy did the lotine find the relief of that pool in a heartbeat! As soon as they were inside the closed room and Sevyrn had freed Lailah from the wagon, Sevyrn swore she had never seen a lotine move that fast on land. Lailah's demeanor seemed to calm down as soon as she was immersed in the pool, though - back in a comfortable environment with the freedom to swim around gracefully. That had to be infinitely better than being cramped up in a wagon that barely had enough space to fit a full grown lotine, Sevyrn had to give the lady that much.
"You know I'm sorry about having to drag you out, right?" Sevyrn asked the lotine as she sat down beside the pool, legs crossed as she looked towards the water. "It's not very much fun for me either, Lailah. You make it in to quite the task."
