There were certain things important enough to warrant actually trying to be on time for them. Like meeting up with a new client; she could only slack and show up fashionably late one she'd gotten a few orders from them. Then watch them try and find a new bowyer or leatherworker who could hold a candle to her work! Fact was, they never could, and were then tied to dealing with her bullshit if they wanted her. The tournaments. Those were important to be on time to. And. Um. There weren't entirely a lot of meetings she could ponder on that she would really, truly make an effort towards. She was probably late even when meeting her own mates. Meeting someone more like a peer was reason to arrive early, a more sincerely dirty word to Lethalia than any uttered swear. Going and meeting other people for breeding orbaru was new, but it wasn't like she was meeting an utter stranger. This was someone who she knew was in her orbit, and creatures had changed hands between the two of them countless times. After seeing this individual's tastes aligned with her own in some ways, Lethalia already thought she might like them. All the more reason to not let a potential someone of worth witness her bumble her way through written forms. No, that was the entire reason for wrestling Mavelle and a calico orbaru awake far too early, just so she could talk through her paperwork with the receptionist unseen. Unfortunately it left all the time in the world for her to lean against Mavelle's side, waiting where the mare was tied just outside the breeding center. This little calico orbaru cradled in her arms was as good of entertainment as she could have hoped for, bold enough to reach for the equi's curious nose. breeding| 1

Renathan hadn't been out in a long while. Or rather, he hadn't been out to do anything other than work. He had been going through a bit of a loner streak- not that it bothered him as intensely as it bothered his assistants. When the sun started coming out in the spring though, his mood flipped a bit. He wanted to be out in the park enjoying himself, or hanging out with the sarane in his barns. Finally, his assistants beg for him to leave the forge for a while and go do anything outside of work for once. It was like pulling teeth, but they finally managed to convince him- and he still managed to find a way to make it about work! He'd been playfully booed out of the Catseye on the first morning of his assistant-imposed 'vacation'. After a day or two of mostly doing farm-work because Renathan had forgotten how to chill out, it is the day of the appointment. He was meeting a colleague, one he'd heard of but of course never met. Of course he'd invited a colleague or two out to the Catseye for conversation and food before hammering out details and such... But he'd never went out to breed orbaru to meet one before! It actually sounded like a lot of fun. Plus, this wasn't a true 'stranger'- this was an individual that he'd traded with before. So he knew that it wasn't going to be as awkward as some of his previous meets with peers. The russet mammalian selects an orbaru early that morning after performing the ritual to allow him and Auburn to separate for a day. He has trouble selected the orbaru though, because there were so many he loved. Finally, he scoops up Mochi quite unceremoniously and tucks him underneath one of his tufted elbows like a sack of potatoes. Mochi gives a surprised 'boop'- but no protest, and off he went. To his credit, Renathan did leave early but he decided to take the scenic route, and was in effect about five minutes late. That was rather uncharacteristic for him- but the weather was so nice! He does make it to the breeding center, sack-potato Mochi cuddled up against his side, and he doesn't miss the pure equillion with the individual carrying a female calico orbaru. He cracks a grin beneath the mask, and raises a palm in greeting (not the one with Mochi tucked up under it, thankfully). "You must be Lethalia!" He says, warmly. That equillion though... That equilion looked familiar somehow? Definitely a custom, or maybe an offspring of one- but hadn't he seen that shade of bay before?

It was just the slight flicker of Mavelle's ear that brought Lethalia's focus back down to earth, rather than meandering in the clouds. The mare had finally learned how to keep the constant buzz of nervous static off of their shared frequency, but her twitchy attention was better paid attention to than ignored. They turned to watch a tall russet figure approaching, Lethalia reaching absentmindely to pat the mare's neck as if she still needed the reassurance at everything. Romy twisted in her owner's arms and booped, almost dramatically loudly as she reached towards the oncoming orbaru Leth had barely even seen tucked under the man's arm. That was promising. "'lo! Y'found 'er," she drawled easily, drawing her posture out of a slouch and to her full height as she waved back. The satyr didn't appear distinctly uncomfortable, but the easy daydreaming smirk that'd been gracing her lips was replaced by a larger grin, still natural but more self-aware. Leth shoved off of Mavelle's side with a pat to her speckled neck, unconciously squaring up her shoulders and getting a better look at the masked man as he approached. "Renathan then, righ'?" she returned, eyes falling to the spotted orbaru tucked under the mammalian's arm. "Oh - an' hel-lo again, Mochi," Leth added to the orbaru, waving to him as well with a little giggle. Dots were connecting - there were a few people she borrowed orbaru from, but there was only one Mochi! Funny enough, she'd recognize the orbaru anywhere. breeding| 3

The equillion was certainly a beauty- Renathan always loved equillion, though they made him a little sad to look at sometimes. Especially the bays. Thankfully, his mask hid his somewhat wistful expression, and instead his pink eyes melted into mirth as he looked at the little orbaru. He did also love orbaru, and look at it! It had pretty pale blue eyes, and almost had a toasted-marshmallow look when it came to the calico markings. Absolutely adorable! She'd make a lovely litter with Mochi- if they got along together of course.
Mochi looks up, his long ears dangling, and his pale eyes notice first the large equillion -which he boops somewhat snootily at- before noticing the female orbaru. His eyes widened, and he immediately spread out his little front paws, giving a soft kick with a dark hind foot (luckily Renathan wasn't holding him in such a way to allow for a painful kick!) before he released a somewhat loud boop. Play? Of course, Renathan wasn't about to put him on the ground out in the middle of the day without a leash (he really should have brought a leash, oh!) so Renathan quietly pats the long fur about his crown while mumbling to him that he was going to have to wait a moment.
"Nice to meet you!" Renathan replies- glad to have found the right person. How awkward would it have been had this not been the right individual? The declaration sounds perhaps surprisingly genuine. Renathan might be somewhat intimidating due to his stature to some of the denizens that he passed on a daily basis, but he was a generally kind person. "Right on the er, credits?" His face screws up a little beneath the mask, crinkling his eyes. He had been speaking common for years now, but he still wasn't good at slang and common 'sayings'.
He then shifts the orbaru around in his arm gently but firmly, holding him out in both hands but fairly close to his chest to keep him from possibly being scared. The orbaru sniffles a bit, and squints his light eyes in the bright sunlight- then he sneezes. Renathan can't help but chuckle- looking at lights sometimes had that reaction. "I'm sure Mochi is happy to see you again." He says. Orbaru really were simple creatures, and boy were they floofy and sweet most of the time.

Mavelle's delicate nose twitched as the man came close, breathing out heavily and dismissing him just as quickly with a shake of her head. One of the mare's hooves rested lightly on the ground as she stood with one hip cocked and drooping relaxed ears, completely unconcerned about this new person. If he was okay in Mav's books, Leth was pretty sure she could trust Renathan to some degree. Still, the mild worry that was a constant tic in the back of her mind would keep her quietly cautious of him for some time. Especially when she couldn't see all of his face, even if the crinkling in the corners of his eyes spoke of a real smile under there. Her guard would drop eventually, ideally without letting them know it was ever up to begin with. She was good at that, usually. Lethalia looked back down to the orbaru between them, lest she was looking too outright appraising. "Don' think I realized y'were Mochi's person. Guessin' that's normal fer how much th' critters run th show 'round here," she joked, shifting the small calico as she began to squirm in earnest. Why was she being kept away from the pretty boy over there?! Romy paused, long enough to let out a mournful boop to him - maybe someone would save her from the arms of her captor! And then her ineffective front paws went back to attempting to scrabble their way out of their prison. The woman couldn't help but laugh for how harmless these guys were compared to the normal faire around the city. "An' this drama queen is Romy."breeding| 5

Renathan tries not to focus on how nice the day is. How long has it been since he was able to just take a moment and breathe? He'd been working all winter, and goodness had he thrown himself into his work! He'd been so bummed for so long that now, the spring warmth on his fur (despite the brightness) and the good outdoor smells... It was distracting, but in a good way. He can't help but taking a big breath and breathe out comfortably. He wasn't as worried as he typically was today- things were going well. This was not an unpleasant diversion in his life, so he'd have to thank his assistants for the opportunity... That is if they don't blow up the Catseye while he is on vacation!
Renathan grins beneath the mask (too many teeth probably- most people felt uncomfortable about pointy mammalian teeth!) and shuffles Mochi to give him a pet on his fluffy head. "You're right- he's a special guy." It was clear that he loved animals as much as the next Labs denizen- he was a beast-tamer for a long time after all. Mochi hears the sounds that the other orbaru is making and immediately begins holding out his paws in her direction. He wanted to play, too! He wasn't the biggest fan of being held, he wanted to RUN! Also, this new friend looked fun! Renathan just leans over slightly to better address the female orbaru. "Why, Hello Romy!" She was a cutie!
Renathan straightens back up, a little embarrassed at his outburst, and then rubs the back of his neck, holding Mochi in the crook of his other arm. "Well uh, I guess we need to find a spot to put these little ones down so that they can play... Though I do wish we could stay outside! What a nice day!" Ah, talking about the weather already? Renathan was hopeless.

Lethalia hummed a little, nodding towards the center door. "S'pose we coul' head in," she agreed. Though Romy was scarcely more than a handful, the satyr was beginning to doubt she could keep hold on the squirming calico parcel. Up until something more interesting came along, the orbaru had been just fine chilling out in her arms! But now that there was a pretty boy over there, her owner couldn't offer anything that would hold a candle to the male silky she was bawling at. Lethalia sighed at the little one, tied between calming her down and getting in sooner to appease her. "Papers 're done, so they're expectin' us sooner or later," she added, patting Mavelle's neck as she took a few steps towards the breeding center proper. Mav had done this hundereds of times at this point, half-dozing and set up for exactly how she'd look when her owner returned. "Shame w'can't stay ou' here tho," she lamented, lingering in the sunlight. There was little that drove her to want to set hoof in a clinical white box. "Seems kinda' funny t'bring critters indoors t'do their business, don't it? Don't see 'em likin' the fake lights any more'n I do.." She snorted and staved off her meandering thoughts, left they continued just in a bid to remain outside longer. Lamenting the oddity in having to bring creatures into a unnaturally white, bright room just for the right to breed them didn't seem like it was a topic for polite conversation. Instead, she dismissed the thought it with a laugh an looked over her shoulder to see if Ren was prepared to head in with her, "Guess'n why I like th' sarane, y' can't much tell 'em where not t'do it!" breeding| 7

It was a huge shame that they couldn't just stay outside, but alas- the breeding center seemed to frown on breeding certain things outside of it's confines. It was probably a good thing, or else he'd have a billion and one orbaru at home. He was already having to make plans to build onto the premises more for his orbaru house, and that was extremely excessive. However, he did love Orbaru. They certainly were not sarane, or any of the other practically murderous beasts that the Labs could make... But they were really soft!
Renathan nods to the nod, and has to make the difficult social decision- who goes in the door first. He could easily fret about it, he still hadn't figured out that aspect of Labs City culture yet. He wasn't sure how so many different folks from different cultures could meet up in one place and figure out how to do things 'properly', but his own homeland was generally homogenized so he was probably a bit out of the loop overall. Luckily, it doesn't seem like he's going to have to make the decision. Renathan does find himself happily surprised at the paperwork already being done. "I'm so glad about the paperwork- between you an' me, I do so much paperwork for the Catseye I can hardly stand myself." It was the least glamorous part of the job he loved. "I'd prefer to stay at the forge, but I guess the apprentices have to do some practicals."
The mammalian hadn't been out for a long while, and he was reluctant to go into the clinic and lose his newly rejuvenated love for the outdoors. The winter always took it from him, but it was back with a vengeance. The comment makes him laugh- and it is a genuine belly laugh. That was crude in the best way- so many folks were squeamish about such topics! "You have a point there- I mean, it can't be too good for them, to not get a little dirt in their systems every once in a while?" He muses, and then shakes his head. "You know, I've heard they have outdoor breeding areas for equillion and such sometimes, do you reckon they might let us use one of those? Can't be too often that they use them."
If the earlier one was a belly laugh, then the next is a straight up guffaw. He's got tears in his eyes, and he's trying not to rub them with the arm that doesn't have a desperately-trying-to-get-down Mochi in it despite his mask. "Isn't that the truth!" He finally manages- "I'm pretty sure my gal DoW- well, keeps her drakes in check constantly all over the farm and she don't even have anything. The poor boys." Sarane really were a mess, a big natural mess in the oddly unnatural sea of critters the labs had.

At first the satyr beamed and giggled along with him, happy to find someone else who abhored all of the paperwork required of living in the labs. Surely it was for different reasons than her aversion, but it was nice to find some kinship in it. In the next breath - a shop and apprentices, though? That sounded serious; the statement brought her to fretting. What was someone well-learned enough to have students be doing with the likes of her? Sobering a little at the statement, she was unsure how anything she did could match it. While her farm was getting too large to handle on her own, it was likely she'd drown in the workload before admitting it was big enough to need help. Lethalia came back around with his next statement- hopefully he hadn't noticed the lapse. There were other places to go other than a sterile four-walled box?! Leth turned back to him with a more honest toothful grin, looking for all the world like she was a child just given permission to do something forbidden. Renathan did just offer up the opportunity to stay outside, and she'd take any excuse/reason in a heartbeat. "They got places y'can go out here? There's gotta one tha' can contain these lil' guys," she pressed with a hopeful lit, peering around the edge of the building where there could be such places hiding just out of sight. "Well, they can't complain if we're on the premises, right?" she laughed, already off the way the mammalian had indicated, spinning on her heel to look back at him and ensure he was coming along. It was his idea, after all! Only after he laughed about the sarane did she realize it might've been a touch of a crass introduction for some people. Ah well - he did laugh at it, after all. Better than finding out later it was someone who tried to act delicately around the matter. Amazing how sensitive folks could be when taking their critters to a breeding center. Best get any offending she might do out of the way early! "Oh, Daughter!! I got a coupl'a her whelps at home, righ' lil' monsters," Lethalia realized, voice swelling with fondness over the two brown-white terrors. It was beginning to make sense who Renathan was around here - truth be told she never paid attention to the handler's names in the pit. There had been enough times she stood across someone tall and russet like him, she'd likely stared him down on multiple occasions and hadn't even realized it. "So that means... y'th one wit'tha flamin' red drakes, right?" It was harder to forget them. Romy was having none of it at all, her 'boop's turning into sad wailing 'buuu's as she dangled her front paws off her owner's forearm. Her eyes tracked Mochi through her owner's flittering around, attempting to convey how much she was literally dying not being able to play with him. breeding| 9

Renathan wasn't dense when it came to other people. He also cared a lot about how other people felt (perhaps he could be a little too empathic for his own good) so he was trying his best to try to keep the mood high. He wasn't entirely sure what he was picking up on (Pethians were so interesting- willing to show their faces so openly in public, AND a common language with no body language component? Well, very little, anyway- probably to accommodate those with different body plans, something he'd never seen before he immigrated to Pethia!) but he felt like perhaps he had said something wrong. He keeps his grin beneath the mask though, as it was important to help him keep his body language light and happy. Plus, he wasn't entirely sure if it was a real thing he'd noticed, there were lots of ways to misinterpret the body language of Pethians.
He'd done it before- it was partially why he felt so uncomfortable to go to that seedy cart-shop, and much more confident walking in and even taking free cookies at the plant shop.
He rubs the back of his neck, chuckling at the sheer excitement he can see now. Perhaps he had not noticed anything at all! "From what I hear, yes! I haven't used any of those... Oh, the things that the Pit shop sells to breed critters without further Lab-help, myself? But I hear that they keep outdoor areas for stuff like that. I'm sure they'll be accommodating, I mean, folks like us come here so often!" For a little while there, he probably was one of the most frequent denizens, but he'd slacked off relatively recently. He casts a conspiratory gaze that would probably be detectable in his eyes, and then moves around the corner of the building, glancing back and holding his orbaru up to his chest again. Mochi was not particularly happy about that, and gave an unappreciative BOOP. What gives? He wants to play!
Around the corner was a small path, with little cobbled-together flat stones buried partially in the ground. It didn't really look natural to him of course, but it did look nice. "Looks like we might have a bit of an adventure on our hands!"
Renathan wasn't the most repressed when it came to his speech and mannerisms, but he also tended to go with the flow when it came to social situations. He tended to match the comfort level of those around him, and he probably would have been glad about that had he been that self-aware during that moment.
He was very pleased at the tone the other individual's voice took whenever she spoke of the whelps, it was pretty close to the same one he had when referring to DoW youngsters. He splits a grin wide enough to be frightening beneath the mask- all teeth. "I'm glad you wound up with them! Sounds like you have plenty of experience with monsters." He was starting to get an idea about who this was- how could they have crossed paths so many times before, and never really met? It was like meeting someone you already knew, but while having memory loss or being drunk or something. With the next statement, his ears perked right up and he practically gleamed- "Yes, those are mine. Phoenix is a right brute, and I still haven't broken him. He's my baby." Sadly, he'd downsized on his sarane and had been downsizing on his farm off and on. He really had let the farm get REALLY out of control. He had money, but he wasn't rich.
Mochi looked as sullen as any orbaru could look (perhaps aided by his silky fur making him look like he had eyebrows of all things!) but when he looked back at the other orbaru (already the object of some blossoming affection, as was simple to do as an Orbaru) he beamed and held out his own small front arms. I want to play too! His whole body screamed with the playful tone. However, he was trapped, and could never wriggle free. The one that fed him was just so big and strong!

"'nuff of 'em multiply on th'own, dinnin't ever think'a usin' those, either," she admitted, though the mention brought her to wondering about the fluke with Mavelle years ago. Maybe she found foals that looked remarkably like herself - Leth couldn't puzzle that one out. Besides the creatures who did so without assistance, the woman really didn't breed her creatures nearly at all. It was part of the glory of dealing with almost-sexless lab creatures, seemingly without the hormonal cycles to make every parties' lives more miserable. It made the idea of going back to dealing with 'normal' creatures sound hellish. "Oh... not near as much experience wit' monsters as folk here tend'ta have," Lethalia admitted with a shrug, even if it stung a little to acknowledge there were more monstrous things out there than Vidarr, "jus' the sarane, mostly. Buggers 're keepin' me from worryin' bout much else righ' now." One day her menagerie would expand, and was already without much of her input. But for now, a tiny farm brimming with pseudo dragons was work enough. Well - if he was down for a little exploration, she'd never turn the opportunity down! It was a little tame but anything was more of a venture than the same white walls that awaited her last time. She eagerly rounded the corner to take a look at the semi-natural path, feeling immediately more at ease on it than she would have with a roof overhead. This was going to be great! "Thas' a name I hadn' heard inna while, Phoenix!" Lethalia repeated, grinning anew at the memory conjured up from the image of that red. "Man, I though' tha crowd was gonna eat me alive when I sent Vidarr righ' for 'im! So much pearl clutchin' at the pit, of all places," she joked almost lightly, splaying the hand not holding long-suffering Romy against her collarbone, mockingly aghast at the remembrance. It was hard to look even jokingly remorseful when she couldn't wipe that stupid smile off of her face, following up with "was kinda' awesome."Lethalia looked back over her shoulder with an almost apologetic look (he'd just said Phoenix was his baby, after all! her followup might've been a little rude), her hoof catching and scraping against a stone as his toothy grin was enough to make her heart skip a beat. Her balance was decent enough to not actually trip, but it was a near thing, correcting the stumble before it could be fussed over. Dropping her apprazig gaze that lasted a moment too long, she regained the breath that had been stolen from her after seeing a ghost. Sure enough some of it was her prey instincts wanting to make her panic at the maw of a potential predator (she wouldn't let it do that), but mostly.. Renathan looked strikingly similar to someone she knew before even coming to the lab city, even beneath his colorful mask facade. She shrugged off the odd thought best she could - Madhavi would've been a lot older, let alone a different fur color altogether. Still, the resemblance was uncanny... Instead, she skipped right over that thought and prompted "D'ya see tha' plot ahead? Migh' work..." she gestured towards a hopeful looking sectioned-off meadow. Perhaps that little fence was low enough to keep orbaru in! breeding| 11

Renathan had several different issues with his pets going out and coming back with different foals that looked like them. Mostly the culprits were his Shebang, and... Shy Guy. He tried not to think much of Shy Guy. Even the barest consideration of him and his entire facial expression switched off like a light. He was already frustrated with himself for even slightly thinking about it. It was a real shame, the entire situation. He hadn't really considered why some of his creatures (like ShyGuy, his traitorous mind interjects) came home with foals and acted temperamental, and some of them certainly did not. He would certainly think about that later. The russet mammalian nods, understandingly. "I've dabbled in a few species before, some of which just weren't for me." He admitted. "I don't have near as many sarane anymore- just my favorites. Had to downsize a bit after my work took off, too." He really liked the medium-sized, less monstrous but not quite lap-pet species. Like Balgor. Some of his smaller pets were great too- like Auburn. "Sarane really can be difficult to keep- they're so big, and require so much food! And of course, their attitudes- but there is something about them." He admits. Renathan really did need to break Phoenix. He was a bit of a frustrating drake. He loved Renathan, but really if it weren't for DoW keeping him in his place Renathan was sure he would have hurt him quite a bit by now. It was hard to believe this fiery beast used to be a tiny whelp that nearly got him kicked out of the gemstone workshop! That was when it hit him though- standing with one of his leathery paw pads on the warm stones and one on the soft grass- This was the owner of Vidarr. Immediately his mouth forms into a tiny 'o'. "You- own Vidarr?" Such a grand drake- really one of the best ones the pit had ever seen. He wasn't sure whether to gush because he was a fan, or run. He was mortified- this was the person he'd threatened in his fit at the pit. Hopefully she didn't remember. He was aghast with himself. It wasn't Phoenix he was worried about- he'd been beat several times in fact- AND he wasn't broken or trained properly. No, it was Shy Guy he was worried about. Renathan forces the concern off of his face (thank goodness for the mask) and he holds little Mochi, who is still looking at the other orbaru with his soft daylight-weak eyes and desperately booping to be let down to play, and tries not to look like a galabex in headlamps. Renathan tries his best to smile and close his eyes in a mock excited expression- but then he sees it. He's not the only one surprised. Maybe she did remember? Oh gawsh, what did he do now?
Renathan is thankful for the distraction, and quickly looks ahead, shielding his eyes of the sunlight with his hand. "Ah yeah- I think I see it! Looks like a good one."

"If only I coul' cut down insteada' gettin' more! They run m'life," she joked a little dryly, truth coming out in the jab at herself. If it hadn't been for the first three, her farm wouldn't have grown to nearly the size it had. Now dealing in them was practically her profession. "Somethin' 'bout 'em for sure! Wouldn' need half'a th' farm if they didn' eat so much.." Ah, it was pleasant to lament it with somebody else with the similar problem. "He's an oaf, but yeah, Vidarr's m'boy," Lethalia confirmed. He was brutish and stupid, but for some reason folk seemed to remember him as a better drake than even she thought he was. She could live with it, but there was something in Ren's voice that she couldn't quite place when her drake's name came up. Thinking back hard, a lot of those battles blurred together by Vidarr's rage and her anxiety - had there been any that could have grievously insulted anyone? Thinking on it, Lethalia gingerly stepped over the low wall to get a good look at the miniscule paddock. "Looks good!" she beamed, after making sure there were no little corners for the orbaru to slip away through. She was quite ready to set this difficult parcel down instead of further grappling her. Romy was only too happy to wiggle out of her captor's hands when she was lowered to the ground, crying out for the cute boy she'd been conversing with. Though the little plot hadn't been particularly well hidden, it felt like some odd secret back here. Vaguely reminiscent of the bleach white walls, the grass too was a consistent height and the flowers imbedded looked too perfectly-randomly dispersed to be from nature's hand. Kept up perfectly just like the rest of the center, and while pretty, just as far removed from anything 'natural' as anything else from the labs. Still, a far cry better than going indoors again. breeding| 13

Wasn't that the truth? It was not a super uncommon 'hobby' to keep pets in the Labs City. Arguably, it even seemed to be the most common draw to the place from the surrounding areas in Pethia. There was nothing to be had like these creatures anywhere else. He wasn't entirely sure if it was possible to keep pets just as a hobby really though, there was so many and it was so tempting to house as many as you could if you could! Renathan was a bleeding heart and always wanted to 'save' critters too, it was a mess. Going to the ZI was the hardest thing he did sometimes, it was so hard not to buy every single critter ever.
The russet mammalian chuckles at the comment and nods. "I see, I probably should have done something like that too- seems more sustainable than picking up meat from the market." He admits. Most of the time his Sarane seemed to hunt for theirselves on his property- thus why he didn't allow any of his other critters into the thicket around his farm- and why his drakes tended to only be let out with wing restraints and only for a few hours at a time.
Renathan follows after at a good pace- he doesn't mind a nice stroll out in the sunlight. It's comfortable, and he missed it. The sun felt nice against the fur of his shoulders, though he was beginning to get uncomfortable with the wriggling orbaru in his arms. He quickly re-adjusts Mochi in his arms to be more comfortable and to be more secure- much to the little white orbaru's chagrin. The low wall was hardly registered as he steps over it with a loping stride. With that- he gently 'plops' the orbaru onto the soft grass, smiling beneath the mask as he pets the critter on the head. It was scarcely a touch that Renathan was capable of before Mochi streaks off, running around and twisting. 'Binkying' he thought it was called. Mochi pops over onto his side, breathing hard from the exertion of it, and boops excitedly at his new friend.
The mammalian lets out a little breath he'd been holding- the fakeness of the area was not lost on him. It was only slightly comforting- the barest hint of nature. He realizes that he's been quiet for a good beat, and he rubs his nape with a palm. "S-so, I uh-" Now he was being awkward. He wasn't always the absolute best at people, though he did try his best. "I've retired from the pit, myself. I'm not really able to take it as well as I used to." It probably made him weak, or something. like that.
