It didn’t matter much if they couldn’t get something found, but she hoped they would when it all came to it at the moment. Jack shrugged a little and shook her head, there wasn’t much for her to think of at the moment, aside from her upcoming wedding, perhaps. What would they even do? It was hard for her to understand some of it at this point, she thought with a frown, and the woman pulled on her ponytail a little as she tried to think of it. What would she wear? Who would they invite? Would they decorate? Where would they have it? Did it really even matter all that much? She groaned and slid to a sitting position next to the wall, leaning up against it as Goran came over to sit beside her. He knew when he needed to work and when he needed to comfort her, and this was definitely the latter version of things at the moment, and he laid his head on her lap, looking up at her for whenever she was ready.

Jack smiled a little at the gargoyle and stroked his head as they sat there. She wondered if maybe she was in over her head at this point, but that wasn’t too possible now was it? Was she ever in over her head? Quite often, honestly, but she wasn’t going to admit to that to anyone other than herself at this point. Jack sighed a little, would they live together or apart afterward? It didn’t make much sense to do it either way, though she had mainly stayed in the Kennel since coming to the Labs, she could be wherever she needed to be that way. Of course Renathan had a house, but that just made more sense to him. Tugging off the hard hat, she leaned her head against the wall and looked around a little with just her eyes and didn’t move her head any. It was weird, but that was what was going to happen no matter what, she wanted it, definitely, and hoped that things would work out for them afterward.

There wasn’t much for her to do other than to mine now that they were actually in the mines, but she couldn’t quite bring herself to do it at the moment. Heaving another sigh, she laid down and curled up around Goran, still stroking his head. She was tired, it wouldn’t hurt to take a little nap now would it? Plopping the hard hat back on her head, just in case and all that, she closed her eyes and listened to the rumbling breathing of the gargoyle, hoping it would help to lull her to sleep. Of course it did, though it was filled with nightmares and uncertainties, but that wasn’t really the issue at the moment, she always had nightmares, and she rarely woke up from them anymore. Ever since the tree had fallen on her it had given her issues, but for now, she was happy to be oblivious to it all.

Jack just hoped she was making the right choice with everything she was doing. Renathan was an elemental, which made him a little more volatile, she figured. She tapped her nodes, which gave her more of a range of magic, and more magic in total, and she wondered if he felt the same way about her at this point. Maybe her magic made her more volatile, she really didn’t know. Goran fell asleep with her as well, figuring he needed a bit of a break at the same time, and figured now was the best time to be doing it than later, and this was a good thing at the same time. She smiled a little and shook her head in her sleep as she thought of things, it wasn’t going to work out too much if she didn’t work, but at the same time, she couldn’t bring herself to wake up just yet, unfortunately.

It wasn't too long after they fell asleep that they woke up again and started to dig once more. Goran was used to the woman taking these little breaks, she didn't have the stamina for digging like he did, so he didn't bother her about it too terribly much. That didn't matter at the moment though, he was going to be great at this whole finding thing and so was she. He could sense something there though, that was the thing, and the gargoyle clacked his beak a little as he dug around, finally unearthing a piece of light blue stone and handed it over to the woman after digging it out and putting it into his beak for carrying. He wasn't like the highest order of gargoyles, he didn't have arms like the woman did and all that, but he did well for himself, he was never really upset about it or anything.

Life was always interesting, she figured as she dug away at the wall before turning to pick up what Goran had dropped at her feet. It was a turquoise, a pretty one at that, and the woman wondered if there were others around them as they dug away in the mines. She felt a gentle thrum of a crystal soon enough and started to dig some more after putting the stone into the cart. There wasn't much she could do about things at the moment, but at least she could attempt to find some crystals at the same time. Jack tugged on her hair and then retied it because it was starting to fall out of the tie, which wouldn't do at all, then settled the hard hat on her head again just in case. The woman was sure there had to be more out there, but didn't know what they would end up finding.

Goran dug away at the ground and looked around for a moment before digging yet again. The woman could feel it, just like he could, and the woman was sure it had to be close from what he felt at the moment. Jack was pleased whenever she felt the thrumming and hoped it was an order crystal, but she didn't want to get her hopes up too much just yet at this point and all that. It didn't matter the kind, she supposed, as long as she got it at the same time. Any help toward a new node was at least something, she figured, though she wished it was what she was aiming for no matter what. Jack rubbed her face, smearing some dirt on her cheek as she worked a little on the wall, and wondered what was going to be back there as time went on and all that.

No matter what, they had to keep working at things at this point, she knew, and the woman smiled a little as she thought of things that would happen eventually. Jack just wondered what all would happen once it was finalized, and hoped that things would work out between her and Renathan like she was hoping at this point, though she wasn't going to be too worried about it just yet. They hadn't even set a date for it yet, but neither of them had rings yet either, and she wasn't sure when that was going to happen, or how. Maybe they needed to just order them from the Labs, it would make more sense for that to happen than the Workshop to reopen at this point. She sighed again, she missed that place, it was the place for her to de-stress a little as she worked on the stones and metals.

Goran was just happy she was happy right now, though there was a hint of sadness around her as well at this point. He knew what that meant, she was thinking of that place again, and he nudged up to her to try and comfort her a little bit. Things would work out eventually, he knew, but for now she just had to wait it out. The gargoyle went back to digging again and smiled at the woman for a moment before trying to figure out what was needing to happen. They both felt it, something was there, but that was fine at the same time. Jack was digging in the wall and Goran was digging in the ground now and they could definitely work between them at the same time. She smiled at him and patted him on the head, he knew how to make her feel better, no doubt about it.

Sarane were fertile again, and that meant a lot more whelps. Jack rubbed her face and sighed a little as she stared at the opening to the mines with Specter gnawing on a bone in the cart. He was rambunctious and this was the only way she could keep him quiet for a little while, which wasn't very helpful, but at least it would be interesting training him later on. It wasn't like she could do much about it, she didn't think she could train him out of his inherent personality, but maybe she could train out some of the other, smaller aftereffects from it. Still, she needed to get him some experience and get him to grow a little before she did much with him. He was a tier three Drake, the toughest kind to break, but she had done it before and she could do it again, no problem at all.

Specter was a sleepy little guy though, and after chewing on the bone for a little while, he yawned inside of the cart and then curled up, sleeping. He was a late bloomer of the last few clutches that had hatched before the species went sterile for awhile, but he was going to grow up pretty well so far, she thought. At least for now his colors were amazing, and while they weren’t necessarily her colors, she wasn’t going to get rid of him for any reason. Smiling a little, she then sighed, wondering what they were going to do or find in the mines this time, and she missed Goran, wishing the gargoyle was with them. Maybe she needed more hatchlings as well, but that wasn’t going to happen, she thought as she scoffed at the idea. Whatever happened, at least she was getting something done, however, and she had to keep reminding herself of that. Whatever, at least she was going to do this after all this time, she decided.

With the little guy sleeping, he was a tier three so she knew he was going to be more volatile as he grew, she wondered if this was the best idea after all. Maybe being in the mines with him wasn’t a good idea, but there wasn’t much she could do about it now, aside from turning around and leaving… That wasn’t her though, she figured, she didn’t just run from a challenge, and this was a good one. She had broken tier three Drakes before and she could do it again, she couldn’t wait to see what she was going to do with things at the moment, and hopefully as time went on she would get some good ideas on what to do with him. She honestly was looking forward to possibly breeding him, but wasn’t sure to what at the moment. That was the hardest part, looking for mates whenever they were dominant, but she had awhile to go anyway.

All she had to do was grow him and break him before she could train him, but what was she going to train him, anyway? Frowning, she looked at him through a crack in the door (she really needed to get it repaired) and thought about it. She wasn’t entirely sure what his skill set was in just yet, she needed for him to grow in order to see that so far, but she imagined he might be able to breathe fire. He was related to Alexei after all. A smile crossed her face and she started to walk into the mines, pulling the cart behind her and missing her gargoyle. It didn’t matter much what she did in the mines, at least she had something of a goal at the moment. Find order crystals for a node and get the Sarane whelp grown at this point. Hopefully she could do both in the time they were going to be in the mines, but she really doubted it, she needed Goran to find the crystals, it seemed.
