Two cute pink flowers danced around on the ground nearby... They look dead, but they are still quite pretty!

Jack swatted at something flying around her face with a frown on her face. It was annoying, but it wouldn't stop her when it came to her garden, she knew it wouldn't, and she hoped that it knew that as well. It kept on buzzing though, but it never went near the Dragon Oak laying down next to her, only around her. Maybe it was because she was sweating from working so much and so hard on the garden fence, but whatever the reason, it was annoying. Jack finally smacked it and watched it fall, though it twitched a little and then got back up. It was a huge bee, and she caught it and tossed it into her bag, where it buzzed angrily for awhile, mad it had been caught. The woman laughed a little bit and she shook her head, she didn't know what to do with it, but that was just fine.

Whatever happened, at least her day was being productive if only because of what she was picking and catching in the garden. She sighed a little and stretched herself out a little to see what she could do, staring down the fence line a little bit to see how much longer she had. About halfway to the corner, she was so close yet so far away, but then she had a long line, then an even longer one, before she could move on a bit. If she wanted to move all of her fences, replace them all and everything, then she needed to kick it into high gear. This was probably all she was going to have time to do today, but this was important. She took another look at Zech before she dug up another section of fence, ready to replace it with new picket fencing instead of the old wrought iron stuff.

Zech laid there, asleep for awhile as the woman continued to work on the fence, oblivious to everything that was going on around him. Sometimes he felt as though he was the guardian of the garden, but whenever she was there a weight was lifted off of his shoulders and he could finally get some good sleep, even if she wasn't paying attention to him at the time. Still, his acorns were starting to weigh him down and he knew it was about time to let her pick them, but did he really want them to be picked right now? His tail twitched and an acorn fell off, spinning around and finally rolling under some bushes, not that he knew it had happened. He probably would when he woke up, but for now it was going to be fine. Jack glanced over at him and saw one was missing, but was too busy to look for it.

She was tired already, but she had to keep going, it was a test of endurance it seemed to her at the moment, which was perfectly fine for her as she went down the line, pulling up the old fence and then putting in the new fence. She needed to get it done before the end of the day if she was going to keep all of her animals and plants in the garden, but she needed to work a little harder, she had over half of the fence left to go and it was already past noon. Honestly, Jack figured she might be working into the night if she wasn't lucky with it all. Giving a bit of a sigh, she continued to work and kept an eye on Zech at the same time, making sure he wasn't too far behind her. He tended to wake up and move from time to time at least.

Nothing would keep her from meeting her goal of having the best garden in the area, it was in her blood, and she had magic that would make it happen as well. She smiled a little and looked at the ground in the corner of the garden and told herself she would make it more fertile there soon enough so they could start growing some good stuff soon, and a lot of it. The only thing she had to do was keep working and things would work out, she was finding a few things here and there to take home as well, it seemed. She looked at a big tree near the fence she was working on and then frowned. There was something up high in it and she wasn't sure what it was, but she was going to find out! Checking on Zech one more time, she finally started to climb up into the tree.

Jack continued to climb as Zech stared up at her incredulously, he didn't understand what she was doing up there, he just knew it was different than what she had been doing beforehand. He tilted his head to the side and wondered what was going on, but then shrugged a little and shook his head, a very human like gesture, before he laid back down, wings tucked up against his back as best as they could be. The woman kept climbing, it was a pretty big tree, before she glanced around and saw what she had thought she had seen from the ground. Sarane fruit! She grinned a little and reached out to pluck one of them, a teal color, letting it fall to the ground. At least it didn't seem to hurt the fruit any when it hit the ground, that much she was thankful for when it was all said and done.

She stretched up in the tree and then looked around, she didn't want to miss anything in the tree while she was up there. She had a good view of the garden though, and she wondered if she could make a tree house in the tree at some point. A smile bloomed across her face, that would take her back a little ways, but that was fine she figured with a little yawn. She had done quite a bit of work so far, she needed a little break, and so she settled down in the crook of a couple of branches and observed. Zech was still asleep under the tree, she was lucky the fruit hadn't hit him honestly. The other animals played in the old garden, though a few were sniffing around the new plot already. She was going to need to tend to the grass and everything before they really could though.

It wasn't as though the animals hadn't dealt with a rough garden before, her own plot had been rather rough for awhile before she had finally tamed it. She would just feel better once it looked better, she thought with a little smile on her mouth. Jack glanced back down at Zech and looked at him fondly, she loved the big Dragon Oak, and she couldn't believe she'd been lucky enough to buy him off the market so long ago. It was good someone had been selling him, she had wanted one for a long, long time, and now she finally had him. Sure, he'd only given her one acorn this year so far, but that was fine, she was sure there would be more eventually. Jack leaned back against one of the branches and then smiled again, she loved this place, and now that she had this tree, she knew what she was going to do.

Zech snoozed away at the base of the tree, not noticing when the first of the sarane fruit dropped, and barely twitching when the second one dropped. The woman had found another one and dropped it to the ground next to the first one, and she was pleased that things were going so well so far. Jack pushed her hair back and smiled a little bit, wondering what she was going to do with all of this produce. Submit it to the PPP of course, eventually, but what else would she do with it all? That was the issue, she just didn't know at this point, but that was fine she figured with a little sigh to her voice. It was all worth it in the end, of course, but she didn't know what she was going to do with things just yet. It was a conundrum she didn't think would be solved.

It was going to be fine, she would continue to work in the garden until it stopped producing, which it never would of course. She couldn't wait until the beginning of summer, so she could start planting more fruits and vegetables and get to work on those. Until then, she would be fine with the spring harvest, she just didn't have anything planted on her own, these were all wild plants it seemed. That was alright though, she thought with a smile and a nod, she didn't know what to do with things just yet, and that was fine so far. Jack chewed on her lip and then sighed, she really needed to get back to work, all this resting was making her go a little crazy so far. She laughed at herself, only she would think that resting was a waste of time whenever she really needed it. Oh well.

Jack really needed to get going and get some work done, she figured as she finally started to climb out of the tree. With Zech still snoozing at the base, she hopped around him and then picked up the two pieces of fruit and put them in her bag with the rest of her harvest so far. Was it really harvesting when she didn't plant them in the first place? She really wasn't sure she could call it that, but that was alright she figured with a little smile on her face. She patted Zech on the head when she came back over, then started to dig up the fence again. She had two more sides of the wrought iron fence to go, and then she wanted to replace her old fence on her old plot as well, just to be on the safe side. She could never be too careful.

Now that things were going again, she wondered what was going to happen whenever she woke up Zech again. He seemed to know whenever she was around, which wasn't a bad thing, and would follow her around for some reason when they were together. Not like it was a bad thing, it was just unexpected. He trusted her for some reason, and she really wasn't sure why. It wasn't something she was going to argue, of course, but it was just strange to her it seemed for a moment. Jack chuckled a little and shook her head, eying Zech as he slept. She wasn't sure what to do with him, but the acorns on his tail were growing bigger and bigger every time she saw him. That was a good thing, hopefully soon he would let her pluck another one off and they could keep doing what they were doing right now.

If anything, Zech loved her because she had bought him from the other person. He knew he had a long term home here, he had so far, so it was nice to know that things would remain the same. For some reason she felt safe and nice, and while she might not understand why he clung to her like that, at least she didn't push him away when it all came down to it. Jack smiled at him and shook her head as she continued to replace the fencing. It was a lot of work, but she could do it before the end of the night she figured with a determined nod. It was going to happen tonight, and she didn't care how many people or animals tried to distract her, it was going to happen no matter what. Jack pushed her hair back, it didn't really matter, she just needed to keep working.
