It had been forever since Ashe had entered one of these things. He used to be all about entering each and every contest there was, to amass points even if there weren't any prizes at the time that he wanted. But time had passed, and you know what? He missed these things, missed showing off in front of a crowd, and he even missed seeing others show off as well. So when he'd just happened upon an opening contest, still accepting entries, he decided to sign up. Inyala, who had been walking at his side while they wandered the city, now climbed up a pant leg and settled herself onto her normal perch, on his shoulder. She liked this vantage point better so she could keep an eye on what was going on, let Ashe know if something was amiss. This place smelled of many, many animals, after all. Any one of them could pose a threat. Ashe might not be concerned about that, yet it was her job to keep him safe when he failed to do so himself. Fafnir was waiting just around the corner, tied in an alley. His transportation on this beautiful spring day. He wanted to keep him tucked out of the way of passersby. Not wanting to delay, he quickly wrote out the details on the entry form.

As much as the man thought flying was his specialty when it came to creatures, he'd never gone too far into that scope other than, well... Flight itself. There was so much more than simply taking off and being in the air - aerial maneuvers were vast. Nazura was the only one of his winged beasts that had any sort of proper mount training, and even then, its lessons were incomplete. Regardless, a flying contest would be a great means of scoping out the world of flight. Xentus was thrilled at the idea of being both a spectator and a participant. The flaming wiurn was... Far less enthused. The beast ensured the man knew its distaste for crowds and events through grunts and huffs all the way to the registration booth. Xentus ignored his complaints.
"Greetings. Xentus is looking to enter Nazura here to the flight contest", the man told the attendant once his turn came. A form was given, filled in, and returned.

What better for a flying contest than three separate flying creatures, all in one? With that thought in mind, I trained Mercury for a new routine. He had experience with a contest before, but this one had a different focus, so it required fine tuning the tricks he already knew. Once I was pleased with his performance, I proceeded to the contest hall to register for the upcoming contest. Just outside the contest hall, I inserted the dragon drive to transform the pile of sticky goo into a more useful shape. The little dragon was my personal favorite of his forms. The dragon disk was a very rare and pricey piece of machinery that I wanted to show off. I also figured that he would need to display his ability to fly during the registration, lest he be barred from the contest all together. "My name is Star, and this is Mercury," I explained as we reached the registration desk. "He is a Living Liquid Steel, and in this form he is capable of flight." I held out Mercury at arm's length for the staff to inspect, should they choose to do so. [29.45, 25.2]

It had been a while since Emery had joined a contest, but she actually had good reason to this time. Argos had gone through a lot of training as of late, and this would be the perfect opportunity for him to apply what he had learned in a practical context. Well, a more practical context. He wouldn't need to prance around in front of an audience down in the mines, but getting used to the presence of other people was always a bonus. She approached the front desk, accepting a clipboard of paperwork that she'd need to fill out, with Argos close behind her. He didn't seem curious about his surroundings at all, sitting quietly. "I'm here to enter my runic gargoyle in the flying contest." She said, looking through the papers. This shouldn't take her too long- though Argos had plenty of patience to wait up for her as she worked on it.

This seemed like a bad idea. Silver often had Quin stay back stage during contests for fear that he would be just too excited to stop himself from sabotaging the show. Now that it was time for a show that Quin himself was well suited for, they thought they could give him a chance to see what it was all about. While they didn't have time to train an elaborate routine, they had a few little tricks to show off. This was more for Quin than it was about winning, anyway. Perhaps he just needed a chance in the spotlight for himself. "Now, Quin, everyone is going to be watching, so you have to be on your best behavior, understand?" "Understand," he echoed back, though he did not, in fact, actually understand what was going on. Silver giggled and headed up to the registration desk. Whatever happened, it would be fun, at least. "H-hi, my name is, is Silver, and this is Quintessence, my, ah, Paogon. For the contest. Thank you." [158.7, 29.2]
