He just wouldn’t listen to her, but that would change after awhile, she figured with a little smile as she walked him into the Mansion grounds. At least she had some idea of what to do with him at the moment. She just needed to socialize him a little, put him at ease, let him figure out what was going on with things for now. Jack pushed her hair back and glanced up, watching the rain disappear mid air above them and smiled, she was just happy to be out and about again, it didn’t matter what the weather was doing. She wanted to get all of her first generation pups out of the way before she messed with any other offspring, considering Red was grown and a father now, if only so she could say she did it. Plus it didn’t hurt to have them grown at this point now did it?

She didn’t know what to expect from the Mansion this month, but that was alright, it didn’t really matter as long as Heathen was getting some experience with life and all that. Honestly, she really didn’t care what she got, as long as she got a few of those lanterns she had gotten before to use at the Wishing Well. Smiling to herself, she ducked to the left and looked around, seeing a hedge maze out there in the distance. That was great! Maybe it was a constant feature now, though she couldn’t see if it had changed any or anything like that. Hopefully it had, but she didn’t know what to do, if she wanted to go in there with the pup or not. The little spotted pup didn’t know what to do with her right now, and that was fine with her, he didn’t need to know right now did he?

All he needed to know was that she was in charge, and that was the hardest thing for some animals to realize, she knew. It was going to be hard, but that’s what she was there for, she supposed, and she sighed a little as she thought about it. Maybe teach him to be a guard or a fighter or something, that would probably be the best bet at this point. Jack frowned a little and then tugged lightly on the leash holding onto Heathen’s collar and headed for the little maze off in the distance. If they were lucky maybe they would find some more things in the Mansion’s grounds than she had in previous years. At least she knew things were different this year, which was a little odd when she thought about it, but she wasn’t going to look it in the mouth, she would take it at face value for now.

He just hoped she stopped trying after awhile, he wouldn’t change and he wasn’t going to listen to her anytime soon. A huff came from him as he slowly followed her at his own pace, despite her slight tugging of the leash. It pulled against the back of his neck a bit, only making him growl a little as time went on. Jack sighed and shook her head before dropping back to where he was walking so she could be beside him for a little while. That was fine, she knew it was going to work out between them no matter what, and she just hoped that everything would be alright in the end. At least she had some things to think about since he apparently wasn’t going to talk much to her or to himself, which was a little odd for a Houluh. Oh well, it was apparent that he wasn’t a normal Houluh, which was odd as well.

What was a normal Houluh anyway? Eager to please, wondering what would happen to them, pretty excited about everything that was happening to them, that was a normal Houluh, at least to her. Inquisitive, protective, all things canine. But this stubbornness and unwillingness to listen was new to her with this species, though not new altogether. At least she had a history with big, stubborn animals, and while Heathen wasn’t big, it didn’t really matter that he was stubborn. At least she could still pick him up, even though he protested it entirely too much at this point. Jack smiled a little at him and reached down to pat his head, but he pulled away and wandered off to sulk a bit at the end of the leash. Whatever, she didn’t need his approval for anything, just his compliance, and sometimes that was the hardest part, she figured. Oh well, it didn’t really matter, they were there to have a little fun.

Maybe after she got him a little more acclimated to herself, she would take him out training to defend himself, how to fight and all that good stuff. It wouldn’t hurt would it? It would actually be kind of fun, she thought with a smile on her face. Jack chewed on her lip for a moment and then shook her head, wondering what was going to happen at the same time. At least she had a plan for him in the future, six or seven fighting moves and all would be well after a little while. Jack smiled happily and pushed a hand through her hair, hoping her plan would make Heathen happy and all that, but wasn’t sure what was going to happen with him. At the same time it wouldn’t be good if he used all of it against her… Sighing, she shook her head, at that point he would, hopefully, be too loyal to do that kind of thing to her. All would be alright in the same time of it all.

Jack gently tugged on Heathen's leash and sighed a little, wondering what to do with things right now. At least she had some idea of what to train him, though it may or may not be a good idea in the long run. She shook her head and sighed again before looking around, Heathan pulled on the leash after her as she walked, not knowing a single thing that was going through her head at the moment, but that was fine, he didn't think it would be alright at the same time. Whatever, it didn't really matter, he didn't care about her yet anyhow. Maybe one day, but he kind of doubted it. So had Snow, though, and he adored her now. Heathen went rigid, would that happen to him? Be brainwashed, basically? Shuddering, he followed her for a little while and spotted a low hanging cloud in the distance, wondering if that was what she was looking for.

There was a distant thrumming she could feel as the Houluh pup tugged on the leash a little, trying to go toward the little rain cloud that had formed over a few things off in the distance. Jack knew it was going to be something good over there, and so she gave in to the pull and started off toward the items with Heathen leading her at this point. At least she knew she was going to find something good, she figured as she felt the thrumming more and more as they got closer to the little pile. There were a few things she could see for now, but she wasn’t sure what they were just yet. A smile happened as she got closer and closer, and she wondered just what she would do if she caught that little cloud. She could always put it into a jar in her bag or something, she had a few just for this type of thing. The pup sniffed at a few of the items and she scolded him for it, she didn’t want him breaking anything when they seemed so fragile.

Whatever else there was around the labyrinth, she knew there was at least a crystal nearby. She tied Heathen’s leash to a tree and looked around, wondering where it was for now. At least until she could pick it up and put it carefully into her bag. The woman smiled a little and dug around inside of a hole she found, one hand on a sword just in case, and out came a little crystal, a remnant, one that would make a hollow node one day. Smile turned into a grin and she put it carefully into her bag, at least until she could make it home and put it with the other crystals. It would be great at this point, though the woman wasn’t sure what else to do with things right now. All she knew was, she was pretty happy to have found a crystal this time in the Mansion.

Sighing, Jack looked around for a moment and watched as Heathen sat down next to the little rain cloud. He was going to be mad in a minute or two when she scooped it up, but for now she would let him enjoy it. It only made sense to, after all, didn’t it? Smiling, she patted him on the head lightly enough to where he almost didn’t feel it, and then she looked forward and picked up a little toy off of the ground. It looked like a little Felusine almost, though the tail looked a little different, or maybe it was just stylized. That would make sense at least, she figured with a small chuckle. The woman tucked it into her bag and then looked around again, wondering what else she would be able to find in this area, if anything. At least she had some idea of what would happen, though she didn’t want to bother with much at this point.

Without a doubt, he didn’t really like her too much, but she didn’t seem to be bothered by that at all, it seemed. Heathen seethed a little when she patted him on the head, and he stood up and tugged on the leash to try and go somewhere else, if only to make her mad or something, but she didn’t budge, she was still looking at the rain cloud as though trying to figure out what to do with it. It wasn’t like she could take it home though, could she? He tilted his head and watched as she took out an empty jar from her bag and put the cloud into it. It stopped raining for awhile, apparently it didn’t want to drown itself or something, and then she smiled and put that into her bag as well. All within a few seconds worth of working, at this point, and he was a little jealous of that. Not like he could do much about it.

At least she had some idea of what to do, even though this time of year was a little much on the senses. It was all bright and cheerful, and while that was nice in small doses, she wasn’t going to worry about it too much right now. She honestly just wanted to explore a little bit and then leave with Heathen and train him up a bit. That only made sense, right? Sighing, she shook her head a little and stretched out as time went on, hoping that things would work out in the long run. At least she had found a few things, including a crystal, and she was pretty excited she basically had enough stuff for two different hollow nodes at this point, not that she could make them in the same year or anything. Oh well, it didn’t matter, and she patted Heathen on the head again before starting off once more, the little rain cloud in the bag starting to sprinkle a bit again.

As long as everything worked out in the long run, she was sure it would be fine. Maybe she could get someone to make another node for her or something, that might be nice, invest in some of the better spells and all that. Jack grinned a little as she figured she could get some stuff going on at the same time. Jack pushed her hair back a little and glanced down at the pup wondering what to do with him. He was stubborn, and training him would be a challenge, but hopefully that would change by the time they actually got to the Park. Of course what she was going to train him was also going to be fun, but she knew it was going to be great once they got started. She smiled at him a little and shook her head, she didn’t know what to think of him, but at least she had some idea at this point.

Maybe getting him trained up to fight would help things out a little bit in the long run. Jack smiled at him and patted his back again before she moved off a little to see what they could find in the maze. At least it was going alright so far, he hadn’t caused her a whole ton of trouble, and she hadn’t given him time or the chance to run off because of the leash. It wasn’t like she was going to drop the leash and let him go wherever he wanted to at this point. Scratching her head, she wondered what was going to happen if she did that, but figured she would never see him again anytime soon. That was the worst part of it all, but that was fine at the same time, and she smiled a little as she thought of what to do in the future with him and all that.
