Well, at least she could stop and think about things for awhile, she supposed, while they were in the maze. She had basically proposed to Renathan during a breeding, which was weird in and of itself, but she wasn’t sure what was going to happen with that. Sighing, she wished she knew what he really thought, if he thought something different, that is. She found it hard to trust people, even though she outwardly tried to convince people of it, there just wasn’t so much she could do about it. She really did trust Renathan though, she just hoped that her trust wasn’t going to be spat at sometime. Honestly she doubted it would, but it could happen, so that was there. As she walked next to Light through the maze, she chewed on her lip a little, wondering what she was going to do about it at the moment, she just wished everything would hurry up and get done at this point.

Everything would work out in the end of it all, she knew, but she really hoped it wouldn’t come back to bite her for some reason. Jack was sure everything would work out a little bit to her advantage, rather to their advantage at this point, and she smiled at the thought of it. Would she take his last name? It occurred to her, while she knew his last name, she didn’t think she would like to take it, would that upset him? She hadn’t used her own last name in ages, but there was a hint of pride to it. Jack sighed again and touched Light on the head as she thought about it, hoping to get things done at the moment, no matter what happened. There was only a little bit of time before they could leave and start to training, and she really hoped she could figure out what to train him still.

Whatever she ended up training him, she had to make sure there was at least three things they could show off in his show. She hoped that things would work out between them, but she really had no idea if that would be the case or not. Jack sighed a little and hoped that everything would work out, and with her hand on Light’s head, they wandered through the maze some more, hoping to find something good but sure they probably wouldn’t, which would be the worst of it all. Jack chewed on her lip and pushed her other than through her hair and wondered if she should keep it long for the wedding and all that. Long curly hair never usually looked good, so she was tempted to keep it short, but she didn’t know if Renathan would prefer it one way or another, she was thinking about meeting up with him soon and making some plans with him at this point.

It would be best to talk to him, she explained to the pup, even though she knew he didn’t care at all about it. It would be best to hear what his thought were on everything, and whether or not he was intimidated by her at all, something she had always wondered. She could do a lot of things, and she had more magic than anyone save maybe the arch-mage, and that was fine for her, but apparently she caused some problems when out and about at this point as well. Jack sighed a little and chewed on her lip as she tried to think of what they could talk about for the wedding, and she wasn’t sure she really wanted to know right now either. It was intimidating, and she wasn’t sure of herself anymore when it came to that, which was something no one would want to hear, she was sure.

She glanced down at the hand on the pup and wondered when they would get their rings in as well, not that they had even ordered them yet. They had to at this point, with the Workshop closed and everything, which was certainly a shame at the moment, but she hoped that things would work out eventually for them and everything. Hopefully they could figure things out in the long run and they didn’t rush into it or anything. Whatever the case, as long as they got it figure out, they would be good. Jack pushed her hair back with a sigh and hoped that things would go through no matter what. It would all be fine in the long run, but they had to get to that point before everything worked out as well. Everything was going to be fine, and she had to believe that or else she would make herself go crazy, she explained to the Houluh.

Just a little while longer in the maze, she knew, and she wondered if that was a thrumming feeling she felt or not. A laugh escaped her and she shook her head as the pup stared at her, wondering what was wrong with her. Maybe things would work out before they were done, and she smiled a little as time went on and all that. Jack wasn’t sure what to do with them, and that was fine at the same time. Maybe everything would work out in the long run, but she wasn’t sure what to expect from Light no matter what. He was going to be hard to train, she knew, and the woman rubbed her face a little as she thought about it, it didn’t really matter as long as he learned, she knew, and as they walked through the maze, she realized she wasn’t too sure about where the center of it was now. They’d been walking for quite some time already, which was odd.

They would find the center and all would be well, but she had to figure out what she was going to do until then. Just wandering wasn’t getting them much, although they were getting used to each other and Light had promised to do what he could at this point, not that he was too thrilled by it at the moment. Rubbing her face, she wanted nothing more than to go home and get some sleep, actual, good sleep this time in her own soft bed and nothing else. It was glorious, and she wasn’t sure what to do about that at the moment. Jack’s eyes traced some of the openings in the dark of the maze and sighed a little as she realized she didn’t know the way out either. It was a good thing she had her magic, she figured, she could just burn it down if she needed to, though she didn’t want to.

What she needed to do was focus for a little bit, she could always burn the maze down and that was her plan if they couldn’t find their way out. Light could probably sniff his way out, but his eyes weren’t all that great so he wouldn’t be able to see his way now that it was dark outside. At least the sky was pretty, and she was reminded of a dream now, wondering what was going to happen with it. Jack managed a smile and hoped that the dream would come true, or at least what she was hoping it was at the moment. Chewing on her lip a little, she really wondered if it was another Tat-lung, though she wasn’t sure if that was the case, it reminded her of the other dream though. A galactic Tat-lung… or at least that’s what she thought it was going to be at the moment, though it was possible for it to be something else as well. She remembered stars, however, and dark colors, dreadful silence where no screams could be heard.

The other eggs hadn’t hatched yet, but of course she hadn’t had a lot of time to do anything with them, technically she was still trying to get Shine up to snuff as well. Glancing down at the Houluh with her, she wondered what was going to happen to things no matter what. Everything was fine and all that, but maybe she needed to stop working with them so much, give herself a bit of a break and then call it good for now. Whatever, it was fine at the same time, and she hoped that nothing was going to go wrong with it. She had to do something with her Tat-lung sometime, but that was fine at the same time, it would all work out no matter what. Eventually everything would be good, but she had no idea if that was going to be anytime soon or not right now.

Leaning against part of the hedge that made up the maze, the woman sighed a little as she thought about it, she wasn’t sure what to do about things right now, just that things needed to happen and she didn’t have enough time to do it in, it seemed. Light didn’t bother her at the moment, knowing she needed to have some time to herself at the moment, but that was fine as well. He laid down next to her again and licked at his paw a little, smoothing down the yellow fur there as his thin tail curled up next to him a little. Everything would be fine, and part of him wondered if he was going to be forced to have puppies with a Matronne at some point after he grew up. Probably, the woman seemed to enjoy doing it for whatever reason, maybe she was just masochistic or something, that was probably the best part about the whole thing.

Light growled softly as he saw something around the bend in the hedge. Something was blue, and... purple? What was that thing? He inched forward until the leash was taut and then looked back at the woman and whined softly. He wasn't sure what to expect from things, but that was fine, that was perfectly fine, she would know what to do at this point, he was sure of it. Jack stared a little at the strange creature, it looked like a canine, but there was an air of something a little nasty about it. She froze and then nodded as it bowed down on it's front legs. "Hello there little one, how are you today?" she asked softly, putting her hand out for it to sniff if it so wished. While it had been awhile since she had tamed something, it wasn't too far away from her history to forget everything about taming.

The creature was completely unfazed by the growling beast, it's semi-intelligent eyes scanning the room the way a malii might, with witt and curiosity. It seems to want to inspect the human and the beast, but also, it seemed rather interested in playing. The creature shifts between the two, slinking forward slowly and then backing up nervously. Then, it sniffs at the hand, and jumps back a few feet, almost as if it didn't quite occupy all the space between. It didn't bolt, however- but it was away from the things it had been guarding not too long earlier. It kept looking between the hound and the human, more curious than concerned.

Ah, she got it, it wanted to play? Jack grinned as she put a hand on Light and then pulled a ball of yarn from her bag, she had gotten it from a quest awhile ago. Tilting her head, she rolled it across the ground of the maze to the creature, wondering if it wanted to play with that at this point. Maybe it was something different, she hadn't seen anything like it before, but she wondered what kind of things it could do. It was possible that things would go her way, but she doubted it. "Want to play, kiddo?" the woman asked as she gestured for Light to move behind her. For some reason the Houluh did what she asked, and she hoped that things would work out no matter what. Whatever she ended up training him, then it was going to be fine. Jack just hoped there would be time if she managed to tame this thing.

The creature may not know what the human was saying, but it seemed to at least get a slight idea that the tone was fine. It's eyes seemed to linger on the ball of yarn, and it scooted closer, nose twitching a little as it did so. It seemed to be keeping up with the surroundings incredibly well! What a strange creature. After a moment's hesitation in which it took in all of it's surroundings, the creature seems to decide it is safe to play. It moved smoothly forward and rolled it's shoulders, twisting it's neck around and then clumsily pounced on the yarn ball, rolling onto it's back to kick the thing. Not quite a dog now, huh?
